The more you rework him, the more meaningless he is unless u rework him into something that's so weak that he's never in the meta. You're just going to get rid of the amount of work Ryze players put into him but then u just rework him over and over again. Either keep it as is, or make him a lot less mobile, less burst and make him a dps mage.

^ This. Its consistently been my issue with Ryze. No champion that can do as much damage as he does needs or should have point and click CC. At least make it a skillshot.

I want him to have sustain damage but I dont like how much stupid burst he has and that fact that they made his W range even longer

With no reliance on an ultimate to achieve maximum effectiveness, he's always up and ready to blow his wad all over people. The proper way to balance the current Ryze would probably be to make his ultimate a much larger part of his power budget, and give it some sort of combat effect.

I actually had an ult that he relied a lot on to dish out huge damage but not new ryze.

His old ult amplified damage and give it significantly low cd and without it he would have a lot less burst than him without ult. I remember I couldnt 100-0 a sivir with old ryze without ryze

They only amplified his damage against minion waves.
