Only honoring one person feels kinda shitty sometimes.

I just had an aram game. I got Vayne. My third game with her, ever. I went 21/5/?. Heres the thing. I am trash at vayne. Trash. But the rest of my team consisted of a, Lux, Kayle, Orianna and Soraka. What's so special about this team? Every single one is a partial enchanter support. Every single one. They kept me alive. They carried me through that game with shields, heals, knock backs, slows, silences and snares. They kept me alive, without even one of them I probably would've just fed like a moron. And in the end I could only honor one of them. That honest to god, feels like utter shit.

Honestly, the best thing to do in that situation is tell them how much you enjoyed playing with them in chat after the game. Even though they won't get in-game honors and rewards and stuff, just saying thanks goes a long way.

Trust me when I say that I feel warm and fuzzy inside when people thank me for being the large bicep man with the shield.

New honor sucks. Why does everything have to be a contest? Why cant i just honor people i liked playing with? Honor opponents needs to come back that was the worst change

i love the new honor system in theory but the way they have it set up atm isnt the best. you should be able to honor any number of allies and opponents, the options for honors should be a little more diverse so they actually cover everything someone would be honored for (such as "carried my heavy butt")

Inflating the honor vote economy is detrimental for the system if you had the option to honor any number of people. That defeats the purpose of you having to honor a player who you think performed the best. This isn't a "you tried" award, it's something you can give to the best player or skip honoring entirely if you feel like no one did anything in particular.

how does that defeat the purpose or "inflate the honor vote economy" in any way? the argument could sorta be made that it would make it too quick and easy to get honor votes but riot could literally just increase the requirements to go with it. simple as that. and actually, honoring more or less specifically IS a "you tried" award, thats the entire point. it isnt "who performed the best", the only one that could be interpreted like that is "great shotcalling". how would the honors for being fun to play with and being tiltproof be about performance?

You're missing the point here. You're honoring one person on the team and your entire team gets to vote for one person as well. Which means that if you want to be fair, everyone can get a vote regardless of how you want to spin it.

Honoring is not about giving everyone an honor. It's about recognizing a single person for something you found amazing, whether this be in terms of performance or keeping the team together when it matters the most. That's the reason why you have multiple categories as well.

it isnt about recognizing a SINGLE person for something you found amazing. yes its not about giving everyone an honor and it shouldnt be unless they all deserve it, but its also not supposed to be about flipping a coin between which ally you want to honor if you had multiple who deserved an honor.

but its also not supposed to be about flipping a coin between which ally you want to honor if you had multiple who deserved an honor.

I feel like you don't really know how Honor works since you keep thinking that you're the only one who has the right to honor someone and that if you do, everyone in your team should follow your lead.

Who you choose to honor, 4 other people in your team might not agree and choose to honor someone else. Or they may not even honor at all. You cast your vote and don't worry about someone else's votes. If there were multiple people deserving of honors, someone else will honor them if it's not you.

But for you to feel obligated to honor everyone who you think deserved an honor was exactly the problem with the old system. If everyone can be honored, it's going to be abused. And if that's the case, the default option would be to force everyone to be honored every game or suffer the penalties in the system. And if you're forced to drop 5 honors per game, people would stop bothering entirely, which was also the case in the old system. It was pointless since your vote carried no weight due to how much you could've spammed it.

literally nothing in any of my comments has even remotely implied that and you straight up pulled that out of your butthole

thats not how it works, not even a little bit. i dont care if people want to honor the same person that i do, idk why you think i do, but regardless its entirely beside the point. why should i have to choose one person to honor even if there were multiple people who were greatly deserving of an honor on my team? theres no good reason for me to not be able to honor all of them. your argument that someone else on your team will honor that person if they deserve an honor is just silly and idk where your logic is coming from. i would agree if there were 20 people to a team, but each person has only 4 people who could potentially honor them, and generally if the entire team deserves an honor only 1-3 of them actually get it. the point isnt that i want the person to be honored as much as that i want to give the person an honor. its not really fair to only be able to be appreciative of one person in a palpable way.

But for you to feel obligated to honor everyone who you think deserved an honor was exactly the problem with the old system. If everyone can be honored, it's going to be abused. by that same argument you should only be able to give 1 report per game and it shouldnt include enemies. its the same argument in essence, just the reciprocal. youre taking this way too much to the extreme. literally all they would have to do to balance it out is greatly increase the amount of honors required to rank up and thats it. literally nothing else. heck even if riot made it so you could honor just 3 people that would be better than what we have now. you know what i loved about the old honor system? the fact that i could consistently get that positive check of being honored by an ally or opponent. now honoring has been turned into a literal competition

Riot said that honjoring opponents will come back eventually. But honoring everybody won't. Your honor vote needs to count and that's why you give it to the best person who you think performed well. If the point of you honoring everyone was to reward them for essentially "GG", then you're clearly outlining a big issue under the old system that made honor votes pretty worthless since you always had the option to splurge around.

I miss being able to honor an enemy.

In cases like this I usually don't honor anybody because I feel bad for the rest and just tell them how awesome they were. I just don't want to pick one over the others if they've each contributed roughly the same amount. I'd love to be able to honor more than 1 person simply because when the game is over I just want to start the next one and cba to think about who the most honorable player was. This ends in me honoring my premade 9/10 games not because he's my premade but because I either can't decide or I just don't want to waste time. Riot always emphasizes how League is about teams and not individuals so why make us choose ONE person? While we're at it please give us back the honorble opponent option, thanks. [sg-ahri-2]

That cost everyone else the bonus honor you get when everyone gets honored.

Usually people honor who carried the hardest too.

Depends... as an ADC, I tend to honor my Support 95% of the time, unless the big carry goes 21/2/5 or something ridiculous like that. But if it's not the case, I'll always honor my Support.

Supreme Senpai693 votes

When I play support, I almost always get one honor from the ADC. The rest of the team usually honors the ADC, cuz KDA. But if I roam or talk super positive in chat, I usually get insane honor. I feel like either way bot lane gets the honors the most

Id say play with the same team 4 more times so u can honor each one

but I would say still pick to honor one and thank the rest

Honor the one that carried you the most. That is what this new/rewarding honor system is for. To reward those who stood out in the game. Sure, you had 4 people carry you, who stood out the most? That's who gets the honor. It isn't about honoring anyone you enjoy playing with. It's about that step above.. The best of the best.. If more honor was able to be given, the rewards would be pretty meaningless.

Maybe Riot could do something where you want to honor more than one there is a formula. #1 vote gets 50% honor, the other 3 split the remaining 50%. Could get a bit tricky if you only honor 2 folks but would think once a formula is established, it could be done.

I still wish there was a way to honor your enemy.. Same issue though, rewards are involved..

Yeah, feels bad when you fall with a Zilean and Kayle, they both save your ass multiple times with good ults and plays, but in the end you're forced to choose one of them to honor. Happened to me yesterday; it still bothering me.

I agree so many times i love my entire team but could only honor one or even someone on the enemy team I had an azir tell me once "i wish i could honor you" sometimes games are really great i think we should have more honors and be able to honor enemies as well and to avoid premades just honoring each other make it so that you can only honor one premade buddy

Same I just finished a ranked. Honored the ADC then thought "the sup was just as good though. And JG really helped me as well." I actually felt sad I couldn't honor all of them.

IKR. Today had to pick between the support that went out of his way to help my dives ( I was fizz jungle. he was Ali) and even gave me the knights vow because I was going in, and the Varus who was doing fantastic ults and calls for where and when to fight/push. I ended up getting all four honors from all of them and I just feel like I couldn't show all my appreciation back. Like Yes I obliterated their carries, but I couldn't have done it without them. I was just a tiny part of our machine.

I pick whoever carried the hardest and then express my gratitude to anyone else who contributed.

If it went back to the old way I'd probably go from honoring one person every game now, to once again not touching the system at all. I'd be willing to bet if you checked the numbers that even though players can only honour 1 person now, there are still more total honours than there ever were in the previous system. Sucks sometimes in games like OP mentioned but mostly is for the better imo, because I think that allowing multiple honours just turns into either nobody does it or too many honours fly around (i.e. just give one to everyone in your wins)

there are more games i honor no one than i want to honor more than one person...

Reporting and honoring are two different systems. There's really no point in drawing a parallel between these and think that just because you're only able to honor one person, that you should also be "consistent" and only be allowed to report one person.

Falsely reporting someone can easily be checked against the categories marked and if the player did do something that would trigger the system. If there's no such thing, the report is dismissed and the report accuracy of the "reporter" is reduced, meaning that their votes in the future would carry less value. So if you're splurging around and reporting people for no reason but because you just don't like them, your reports are going to carry less weight.

There's no such thing for the Honor system and there shouldn't be. Who's actually going to build a system and try to look for honorable behavior? Especially when anything that you do that's not negative is considered to be honorable? You build a system to detect outliers in negative behavior (which are few and far in between), not in positive behavior.

Positive behavior is supposed to recognized by teammates you play with and that part is left to be moderated by us. Every person should be given a chance to vote for a person they think did their best (or some other category) which means that every person has agency in such a system. Giving people more agency means that your vote inherently carries less weight because you can plaster it over everyone's end game card. That always leads to abuse cases because everyone would want to min-max the system in order to get the most Honor for way less time invested in being honorable.

That's exactly why Riot's Honor system is like this. The progress is intentionally slow and there's only 1 vote per game you can give (or not). That's entirely your choice. There's also going to be honoring an opponent in the future. I'm definitely not going to use this part of the system since the current categories we have for teammates don't apply to anyone on the enemy team. You won't be able to recognize any behavior since you're not directly playing with them.

Which means that if Riot implements this, there are going to have to be other categories to honor an enemy for.
