When your jungler doesn't know how to jungle

Hallbuster··3 votes·2,680 views

I'm not complaining that our jungler Xin Zhao died 3 more times than he's landed a kill. I'm not complaining that he's not ganking because even if he did, he would have failed and gave the enemy free kills anyways, I'm complaining because our jungler doesn't know how to jungle! We're 33 minutes in and our jungler has 47 CS kills. I told him from the very start, don't worry about ganking, "just farm." Doesn't listen, proceeds to feed all lanes: top, mid, and bot when he's already behind since he DC'd the first 5 minutes, until we lose all of our towers, inhibitors, and finally our nexus. What do I do in a situation like this? Rage? Beg him not to use a third of his brain? Convince our team to ff?

-End rant

-P.S Really, downvotes? Do people do this just to feel good about themselves? Anyone that downvoted, I hope you get him stuck on your team, in your promotional series.

Everyone has bad games. Furthermore, not every game is winnable. Better to just focus on yourself than waste time on someone who didn't ask for your help, most likely doesn't want your advice and that you're never going to play with again.

Bad game?! I average 150 CS on my worst games! Hell, even our support had more CS than him! As for losing the game, yeah we lost when it was 4 vs 5. Not taking my advice or anybody else's for that matter is a reportable offense under refusing to communicate if not intentional feeding when we were all screaming at him to stop running under the turret to kill an enemy. Not once, not twice, but 6 freaking times!

Sorry bud but not taking your advice is not reportable. No one is required to do what you tell them. If you were in a game with me do you think it would be fair if I reported you for not listening to me? Hell, the dude probably muted you if he felt like you were being rude to him.

You're in bronze, the division that has an incredibly wide variety of skill levels. Some people in bronze barely understand the game. That's just how it is. You can't blame him for being bad at the game. Remember that you were once at that level too. Likewise, remember that you aren't perfect. It's far more efficient and constructive use of your time to focus on what YOU need to improve on.

I'm saying all this for YOUR benefit. You can't control you allies. It's pointless to waste time typing. Just focus on yourself. It'll save you a lot of headaches trust me.

Yes, you "can" get reported for refusing to communicate even if you don't feed, even if you win, even if there were no foul words involved. If you do it enough times. Don't believe me, read this thread:

http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/FrILlWp7-14-day-ban-because-playing-nunu-support-with-smite-is-stealing-other-peoples-roles

Or if you're too lazy to, I can explain it to you :P. Basically, we have a player trying to counter jungle as support, taking enemy camps a nunu but also leaving the adc in bot by themselves. We then have a statistically high 50% report rate from players that rarely report, reporting our nunu leading to his 14 day ban because he was ignoring what his "team" wanted and focusing on what "he" wanted. Call if what you will, I call it selfish. Whether it was ban worthy is up to you.

He was banned because he was queuing up as support but not actually playing support, not because he wasn't communicating. Riot has said many times that you can /muteall every game and you won't get punished.

You either didn't read all of it or read it incorrectly. He was allowed an off meta-pick, he was even allowed to take smite, why he got punished was because his players "disagreed" with what he was doing, yet he continued doing it. Quote for quote straight from WookieCookie, "Telling your team what you’re going to do and then ignoring them isn’t really working with them it’s holding them hostage. Telling your team what you want to do and actually working towards a common plan is a central part of playing any team-based game".

In my case, we have a xin zhao dying repeatedly, under similar circumstances when it could have easily been prevented if he only listened to what we told him to do. Are the instructions, don't worry about ganking, worry about farming so hard to do?

As for /muteall, it is perfectly legal but it also means you still have to send pings and alert other players, when necessary. What Nunu did was also before the game started, in the game lobby. Regardless, if I send warning pings, not to engage the enemy under turret tower, it still should still mean the same thing.

Randomonium1 votes

Yes, because he was queuing as a support and not fulfilling the support role. That's what the WookieCookie quote is in reference to. WookieCookie was not saying that you have to do whatever your teammates tell you to do. If my top laner says "don't gank my lane" but I see a good opportunity to gank my laner can't report me for not doing what he told me to do. What you're implying is absolutely absurd. If not doing what your team tells you to do was a bannable offense then 3 and 4 man groups could get solo players banned for whatever they wanted. "Hey man, you better go full AP Kalista or we'll report you." Don't you see how absurd and abusable that could be?

Ultimately players can play their champions how they want them to be played. We aren't robots. We aren't slaves. The reason why the smite Nunu player was banned was because he queued up for support, refused to actually play the role he was assigned, and refused to compromise on his off-meta strategy with his team. That is in a whole other ball park from "my jungler sucks and doesn't listen to me when I flame him."

But hey, if you want to devalue the worth of your report then go ahead. That dude will never get banned for playing poorly or for not doing what you told him to do. In fact, you are more likely to get banned than him if you acted toxic towards him. Furthermore, there is absolutely no point in talking to someone who refuses to listen. All you are doing is wasting your time with him and turning your "4v5" into a 3v5 because if you're typing then you aren't playing. Trust me, you will climb a lot faster and win a lot more games if you focus on YOUR mistakes and minimize your typing in game.

I'm not saying all this shit to argue with you, I'm saying it to help you. In this scenario you are acting just like your jungler did in game by continuing to not listen to me. I've been where you are. I've been in the depths of bronze with idiots who refuse to listen. You can't help them because they don't want your help. All you can do is focus on yourself, improve as fast as you can, and get the hell out of bronze as quickly as possible.

When someone is out of the game for the first 5 minutes, they're always going to have trouble.

venomous frost1 votes

you don't do anything except try to solo carry

you just have to realize you are in the worst possible ELO, and there will be players that have no clue what they are doing.

Fuh Queue1 votes

Not much can be done. You've lost lane to the point where the entire game is over from one person being fed. Bad games happen, forget it and move along.

Well you cant expect a good jungler in bronze 5 to be honest

A scripted bot could have done a better job than him.

You guys are in the same rank, which bronze 5 is complete garbage no offense but it is. Maybe he had a bad game, but if you honestly think you are SO much better then him, then why are you in the same rank as him?

Because I can at-least, "play the game." If he maintained a good cs and played his best, I wouldn't have cared. But if you don't even know how a role works, you'd better play some bot games first.

Add me. I'll help you get out of Bronze. I've been at the 400 mmr range and I climbed out.

Yeah, but you have to be online. I'll take a look at your games and see what you are doing wrong.

Uhhhh, are you free tomorrow >.>. I have to say, "I'm occupied tonight." With some business to attend to, but I have the whole day off tomorrow cause you know, spring break.

Things I might be doing wrong:

  1. Not enough CS
  2. Overextending
  3. Not having enough map awareness

My builds should be fine, runes accurate.

You know who's score was worse than your jungler's? Oh yeah. You. Him .76 KDA, you .75 KDA. Also you were a level lower than he was. But if he was afk for 5 minutes, how did you finish behind him??

Besides, your 3/8 that game was statistically worse than his 7/17. Also, 2nd lowest damage in the game. Least kills in the game. Tied for least wards placed (3 wards that's it???). 2nd lowest amount of gold. You didn't even match support gold as a mid-laner.

But, I guess facts are a fickle thing and you're going to complain how he fed and it led you to getting ganked and deaths and yadda yadda. Your jungler started earning do like a minute and a half after you.

He overextended too much and may not be good at tanking, but you're B4 and knocking on B5's door. Bad jungle ganks are to be expected. Ward better and protect yourself an stop blaming others.

It's funny how people bring up KDA when its objectives that win games, oh and teamwork, something our jungler refused to do. If you could look at my score in the first 20 minutes it was 2/2/0, I wasn't carrying but I wasn't deadweight either, what was our jungler's score 0/6/0 (why do you think I started tilting)? Those 7 kills weren't worth squat when we were already losing, with enemy Orianna fed and our second to last towers about to be destroyed (Do you think scoring a penta-kill right before my nexus blows up will "save the day)?" This is also completely unrelated but everyone knows Xin Zhao is op, some kills were expected.

As for the wards, we couldn't exit base without getting killed when they were already pushing to our inhibitors. Why did I have so little gold? Team fights were breaking in mid, and people including xin were stealing my farm.

Now you go on and say they were bad ganks, if he told me, hey I'm ganking be prepared I would have been ready. Going in when I'm running for my life and turret diving a full health enemy is called suicide. Oh and something I never asked for.

Now the final paragraph carrying, let me get this straight you want to carry when it's 4 vs 5, when the enemy has twice as many towers as we do, and when every enemy is basically fed. Because it's not happening.
