Seriously Riot, are they just there as a trap for new players to buy only to find out later that they are not worth it?
Why do Glyphs for AD or health even exist?
Get rid of them, and the tier 1 and 2 bs as well, which is a pure money grab the exploits new players ignorance, and replace it with a new system or new runes that actually give us a wider range of paths on combinations.
Vathriel1 votesRito has stated they eventually want to rework runes. I agree fully that they are BS, but sadly it's what we have to deal with for the moment. Luckily rito has said they want to examine the usefulness of runes over all, that way it won't be troll to take things like scaling energy and random stuff like that.
DonnieDarkin1 votesIts just a product of myopic business thinking on their part. They figured people would was IP on bs runes, thus forcing people to play more to earn more IP, which means a greater chance of buying RP for boots or new champions.
When instead, if they make a system that allows more combinations and greater variety of viable rune pages, they will get the cash flow from people buying tons of runes, but this time it will also be actually making the game better.
