just because im playing a healing support or one that can shield

doesn't mean you can just randomly take damage for no reason, I have to dodge skillshots just as much as you do.

  • I shouldn't have to waste mana or cooldowns just because you didn't feel like moving to the right of that jinx W.
  • i shouldn't have to use my exhaust because you flash engaged on the full health enemy bot lane before our jungler could get there
  • i shouldn't have to body block a skillshot that will kill me just because you refuse to back when you have low health.

stop blaming supports for your lazy ass gameplay mechanics.

Zyra I am a healer as well. Grab Dangerous game and try to earn assists

My favorite one is when i play Soraka the other day. I healed my adc who could not dodge skill shots for anything. Was low so pinged to stay back and was going b. enemy jungle ganked and adc died. flamed me for leaving. Few minutes go by and same thing, i heal them and got low (cause we all know that raka uses own hp to heal) and died because enemy cait ulted so body blocked for my adc. Again adc flamed "you suck useless support".

Love how healing you and doing my job warding and body blocking is usless for you

Once in a (fortunately long) while, I get somebody who gets really salty when I don't constantly heal them as BARD.

Like, I'm Bard. I have a heal, sure. But I'm not even close to being a "healer". Dodge those skillshots and munch on your biscuits while I poke and CC, mkay.

Ashe : Heal me

Sona : ...

Ashe : HEAL ME

Sona : W

+40 health

Ashe : begins to b

Sona : ...yeah...half of it is a shield...

Morgana when i feel like my adc is crap, go full ap and carry.

Drahcir9/14/2016, 1:41:39 PM6 votes

Sona Heal? you mean damage reduction powerchord?

Rozair9/14/2016, 9:29:28 PM6 votes

my personal favorite play was a 3v5. My malphite support ulted away from the enemy team knowing that probably 2 out of the 3 people would die and he wanted to be the one who lived. I was playing Vi and I wanted my adc to live so I charged back into the enemy team to draw time for my adc. My adc proceded to avenge my death and got a pentakill. Fuck you malphite.

I like never putting a point in my heal until the game makes me.

I wish I could up vote this a 1,000 times.

DraygenBiscuit9/14/2016, 1:13:08 PM5 votes

lol I had this problem awhile back.. I had already wasted all my mana healing the Vayne, then Jhin Ults, and I'm like... I give up on you, and just leave. Then they were like why didn't you block? Why should I have blocked? That would have only killed us both lol.

Yeah, sometimes ADCs take a lot of poke for no reason, or engage too fast.

However, as a support it is your job to assist your ADC in any way you can. Be ready to shield a skillshot whenever the ADC is too slow to dodge. Heal whenever your ADC is low. Keep your ADC alive, even if it means typing in chat or pinging.

Great supports can carry ADCs through the laning phase; they can technically make mistakes into benefits. I'm not saying that I'm a great support, but I kept my ADC alive many times through dire situations.

If the ADC starts flaming you, sure they were probably at fault for being careless, but you could've kept them alive longer, by using skills or by communicating more effectively.

Just because i am playing Sona doesn't mean i am not not assassin :3

Athenes Lulu9/14/2016, 6:38:30 PM3 votes

On the other hand, I prefer my ADCs playing dangerously so I can find something to do instead of just afk in the bush like a "stereotypical support".

Fine, go and absorb some damage because that's gonna happen anyways and so that my shield doesn't go to waste at the same time, but don't go willy-nilly and eat every single painful skillshot.

Also don't go yelling at me if I can't "reflex shield" that one last hit right before you died, because I am OOM from trying to save both of our shitty asses beforehand and therefore having nothing left for that "last hit".

You know what, just do everyone a favor and dodge all the skillshots. All I asking for.

This is the rason i sometimes let them die then tell them my heal .... ehm.... just came down from cd im so sorry .... and internally laugh my arse off :D

BliTzzAcE9/14/2016, 6:42:07 PM3 votes

support players are so cringe

Kaioko9/14/2016, 3:39:05 PM2 votes

I'm not a support but as an ADC I can say there's a flip side to the whole "healing support" argument. Just because you pick Soraka, Nami etc... does not suddenly turn you into just a heal bot that stays back and does nothing else; you can do a lot more like poke, ward, provide lane control and more. Also depending on your mana or health, if I have to miss a couple minions for a little bit of damage I may just take the damage.

TheDeathCow9/15/2016, 2:27:40 AM2 votes

I do agree with this on most points, but the main purpose of the support is to keep the adc alive.

As a Morgana main, I get frustrated when I'm playing against a team-up of Jinx and Braum, for example, and the adc is cussing me out because I'm not shielding them enough. Well, I guess it's news to them that my shield only blocks AP. Why should I waste precious mana when my shield isn't going to prevent them from dying?

Things like this is what makes counter picks effective, and why people who don't understand them frustrate me.

I recently read some good advice: Mute everyone but the jg and play your best, even if they are making terrible choices in the game. Even if you're losing. Even if they are blaming you for being an awful support (which you won't know because they're muted, right?).

Abandon9/15/2016, 2:24:17 PM1 votes

I have a real hard time playing supports with heals and shields because I just assume sometimes that the adc will able to sidestep some really predictable shots... guess not lol. Hats off to all the supports that are always on point.

Need Gold 4 Tent9/15/2016, 2:29:23 PM1 votes

It's actually situational. I used to think that way, until I found that the lane was pretty much a stale lane (nobody killing nobody). How heal lane supports "win" a lane is diving head on into a slightly lousy trade, then healing off some of the damage to make it a winning trade. If you don't recklessly do that, you are wasting the sustainer's presence. But taking damage for no reason whatsoever is definitely a nono

Silver Don9/15/2016, 3:54:00 PM1 votes

And that's why I go brand sp :)

Chatillon9/15/2016, 7:23:34 PM1 votes

I had this happen the other day

Brand Sona heal me Sona I just did Brand Heal me some more Sona Excuse me?

Like, If I'm not healing you, there is a good reason, like i dont have mana, or i need to save mana because we're about to fight. Like honestly, im not an ambulance to heal you whenever youre less than 100% hp. I have an agenda too

Cowseed9/14/2016, 7:13:53 PM1 votes

Yeah but on the other hand you also have to hate the ADCs that play like vaginas and hide behind minions when you are a freakin' Soraka Soraka . If you are not gonna take the kills don't blame me if I go full AP.

I hate it when I see a skillshot heading towards my carry and they're not dodging, so I move in between them and the skillshot, and they end up dodging it anyway after it hits me...

like... I don't know if they're dodging or not

so I'm gonna save em

and probably die

rip me

LaserDeathBlade9/15/2016, 7:53:20 AM1 votes

As someone who plays all positions, I'm always weary of 'passive' supports because half the time I see a Janna/ Sona/ Soraka/ Morgana I swear they're just playing Support so they can half-ass the game and still have a decent chance at winning.

When I'm playing Leona and dominating the enemy Ashe who's laning with a garbage Janna, I feel bad for the poor guy because chances are everyone is bagging on the Ashe when really it's almost 100% Janna's fault if Ashe dies to Leona engage.
