Why Does Tibbers Get Bonus Movement Speed on Annie's Death?

Kivolan··5 votes·1,096 views

Why is this a thing? Who thought this was a good idea?

It's not a great design philosophy to punish players for successfully outplaying and killing an enemy champion and managing to survive with a few health, only to die to a summon that gets a movement speed buff on its owner's death.

Please, please, please remove this completely unnecessary mechanic.

(Ouch, low skillcap champ players out in force tonight! Give me a valid reason why this Annie buff was needed. Please.)

Why is it a thing? Because it can be.

That's a poor argument.

That seems to be Riot's mentality about a lot of things, sadly.

As well as 90% of the people on this board who downvote shit just because it feeds their egos. I'd like to hear some arguments as to why Annie needed the Tibber's murder bear buff and how great it is to play against it.

Meanwhile, Sion having it is nothing wrong.

  1. There is a delay between killing Sion and his passive activating which allows you to actually move away.
  2. His bonus movement speed is 50% that decays over 1.5 seconds. Tibbers is 100% over 3 seconds.
  3. Sion isn't going to 100-0 you with large aoe / point-and-click skills.

It gets it because reasons. I never agreed with this change and never will. she has enough damage to fucking instakill your entire team. and if you manage to actually kill her without losing 3 people in the process you are gonna lose 1 more cause tibbers is coming for that booty.

Cuz he mad? Or cuz he finally unbound?

Tibber is an "ensorcelled shadow bear" kept "spellbound as a stuffed doll to be carried like a child's toy". What would you do if you where some powerful whatever-the-fuck-a-shadow-bear-is that was, until now, spellbound as a stuffed doll? He's some kind of wild animal demon thing that, when annie dies, is probably no longer bound to her and thus set free or unleashed with his full power that goes on a rampage. Added movement speed and whatever else he does when she dies kinda fit that don't you think?

Or maybe Tibbers likes Annie and wants revenge, I don't know.

Riot design philosophy isn't limited to rewarding players for successful outplays and kills, sometimes their other goals (character identity or theme or what-ya-ma-call-it) conflict with your enjoyment of the game.

If you can't understand this then you clearly have no children, probably not any friends.

I'm not even sure what this was trying to say but I'll take a stab at it.

Correct, I have no children... I'm gay, don't want any.

Do ANY of us really have friends if we're playing this shitty game? :)

He is saying that Tibbers loves Annie and goes into a fit of rage upon her death.

Trying to justify balance changes with real life logic doesn't work.

"Well Malphite should be able to instantly kill Annie, she is just a girl and he is a giant mountain ofc he would crush her instantly"
