Late game champs are getting screwed a little bit too hard.
Okay, so we all know the game has shifted into a meta that favors early and mid game, which is fine. The issue comes when these champions that are super strong mid and early just aren't falling off, or even champions that scale getting their early game improved, but again, still don't fall off compared to those who didn't.
For example of being a late game champion that just doesn't seem to scale up enough, jinx. She has been in a state where her early game is well..... basically trash, the way it's meant to be. but her late game is fairly strong, aoe crits are pretty strong and multi critting someone with a runnan's is insane, the issue she runs into is, even with all the strength she falls behind until she hits her full build. none of this is accounting for the endless pile of assassins thrown at the botlane where her "protection" ability gets completely ignored.
now lets look at one of the champions that got their early game buffed. Twitch. His lane presence is way strong that it should be considering he competes and a lot of times beats jinx's late game. So we have a champion that wins early and still competes for the late game damage beast. that doesn't seem like it should work out that way.
How about sivir? another champion that does insane damage late game, but her early game leaves something to be desired. she has the protection in her kit to survive, being her spell shield, but once that is gone she is basically just a walking 300 gold to any champions meant for the early game.
how about lucian. a champion designed to dominate early and fall off. with the new bork, clever, crit build, he just isn't falling off. EVER
Draven, strongish early, doesn't have a midgame power spike has a mid game F__K YOU, and again, damage scales into the late game way too hard.
Caitlyn. anyone who's played against her knows what i'm saying here.
miss fortune. again. a bully that doesn't fall off. although we see riot is trying with her.
Vayne has enough power in the late game to offset her bad early. ill admit same deal with varus.
Ezreal is fine where he is. he gets a spike in power with his sheen/manamune and kinda levels out for the rest of the game.
My suggestion would be make the late game champions scale just a bit harder, so that it actually feels like there is a point to playing them. i mean why play a late game champion when you can choose someone made for the early game and they scale up just as well as you do with none of the draw backs.
Just opinions from a scrub.
