PLEASE RIOT: Aery and Teemo

Aery is the 'meta' pick on Teemo right now because of it's consistent, sustained DPS; Teemo easily triggers two aery hits with two auto attacks.

HOWEVER

Teemo has no shields and misses out on half of the Rune's intended purpose Aery flies back to your location, giving away Teemo if he's stealthed and somebody steps on a mushroom; anywhere on the map

Arcane Comet is also so garbage on Teemo because only his shroom provides enough slow power to increase the chance of it hitting, it's worse than both Aery and Phase Rush because it can literally do nothing as you have no way to gauruntee a comet hit.

Teemo needs to survive the lane and have laning power in order to get a foot-hold on the map in mid-game. Phase Rush is probably the 'best' for Teemo in theory because it's useful for movement speed in an all-in or trade, and it's border-line OP against champions that rely on a slow like Nasus. In some distant universe, Arcane Comet could have been great for Teemo because going 3-points in Blinding Dart by lvl 5 is a relevant laning strategy, Q'ing people with a comet proc would be cool.

But Aery is the 'BEST' in practice because of the consistency in extra damage it brings to lane, even though it BREAKS YOUR FUCKING PASSIVE and outplay potential (Yes, Teemo has outplay potential.)

"Okay, what about the other trees?"

Sorcery has some things teemo really wants, like manaflow, move speed, and Scorch. Resolve secondary is also important if you want to survive lane. Going another Primary tree just for another keystone means sacrificing something else, and is not exactly a net-gain. Plus the other keystones in other trees are questionably useful if at all.

Okay.

But what is it you actually wanted from this post?

Aery being changed/reworked/removed, Comet becoming a real keystone for champions without heavy CC

Or you could go with lethal tempo for on-hit/attack speed teemo builds. Which is perfectly valid and scales better than aerie. Plus you can take cut down for more damage against enemies as they stack hp+resistance.

Electrocute is actually not bad for ap teemo. You basically want to abuse your ranged harass early and add this in, they now get bursted enough by it that they can't really consider trading back with you in early game if you play properly. Due to his range advantage in most matchups, this kinda makes up for the long early game cd of electrocute which is what stops most melee's from taking it. Also, it makes his shrooms much more deadly late game.

Lethal doesn't feel good in lane because your opponent will either just run away from you or you have to kite away from them. I like supporting my laning phase with pre-game choices and relying on items for the rest. On-hit builds work fine without Rune support, Lethal feels like win-more for a phase you may not get to if you sacrifice laning power.

They can't just run at you early due to your range, kite (via w movespeed), blind, and poke advantage. Lethal tempo zones them off the wave similar to aerie. Sure aerie does a bit more early if the enemy does back off, but either way, you are zoning them off the cs and preventing them fighting you. The difference isn't all that much, plus you can chase them down in many cases anyways. And when they get strong enough to stand and try to fight you, tempo gives you more dps... if not in all cases, then at least at 1+ full item I'd say.

Even in early game, if you can auto them for 3+ sec, pretty sure lethal tempo does more dmg than aerie for teemo. Because you get an extra auto off at least by 3 sec and you keep the poison ticking for a bit longer that way too since your last auto in the trade lands a bit later as they are disengaging. So an extra second of your e damage and an extra auto vs 2 aerie proc's...

Moreover, you can get extra attack speed or tenacity, bonus gold and HEALING on kills or shielding from your lifesteal if you're building gunblade or hybrid teemo, and most important... extra damage to champs with more hp than you.

I might not be a teemo main, but I've pulled of some pretty good games on the champ. Flash tp teemo vs flash ghost darius... you shouldn't win that if the enemy kayn is camping for him. Definitely not mid/late game when he's gotten some mr and hp plus damage. But I 1v3 killed a full build rhaast (kayn) and nearly kited out darius through his ghost and flash vs rhaast, darius, and blitz - while getting exhausted to open the fight. 3 more autos and I would have taken darius with me. Still I bought about a full minute's time and traded even in a 1v3.

Anyways, back to the point... lethal tempo is not THAT much weaker than aerie in lane, it scales far better, and you are teemo. So you should be able to abuse the fact that you are teemo and get by with SLIGHTLY weaker laning phase dmg from lethal tempo vs aerie and still be in a decent spot early. And after you get some completed items... you'll be much stronger for taking tempo. That's my take on the matter. Obviously this is opinion and you are welcome to think differently. But I don't think you're going to change my mind and that's fine. Let's just leave it at that.[vlad-salute]

Thank you for your response, it's pretty good.

I'm going to mess around with Precision tree again and see how it feels now
