Meddler or whoever is on the rework team, what are the odds of Darius rework this season?

IsIsGankedParis··4 votes·6,954 views

And not only Darius, but GP as well, they were both talked about in 2014 as being "hot" and worked on, but right now they are both deprioritized.

I can understand their reworks not coming this season for a Poppy, Galio, Yorick, and other champs who need it first, but is it likely they will get one?

And if they do, how big are they? I feel like both of them would have bigger reworks(Heimerdinger level) seeing how their kits are working.

It's likely (though as with anything, never 100% certain of course) that Gangplank and Poppy will get their reworks this season. Darius is most likely to get additional smaller adjustments (like the ones currently on PBE), rather than a full rework.

Any other champions planned for small adjustments? Like Garen?

lightdragoon881 votes

Garen getting reduced cooldowns on his Ult right now on the PBE.

Garen's Ult CD was just buffed and id rather it he not get worked on a whole bunch. Small nerfs do not require compensation, a bunch of small nerfs will require compensation and taking anything more from Garen will ruin him.

Can you speak on Guinsoo's Fiora project?

RiotMeddler3 votes

Guinsoo ended up getting pulled onto something else. We've got someone else taking over on Fiora as a result.

Cuix3 votes

Let's talk about that, then.

Dantilq1 votes

Please make Fiora fullfill the fencer fantasy, instead of people League's take on Juggernaut.

Fomorian271 votes

That's disappointing to hear. The few bits of info that guinsoo gave sounded really promising. Is the rework still going to follow the general theme laid out by guinsoo, or is it all from scratch?

Gapybo1 votes

So is she already being worked on or is this yet to happen?

Hi Meddler, what do you think the eta will be on Fiora's changes? Will they be like Viktor's last season and be around September or do you plan on releasing it on season 6? Reply whenever you feel is convenient and I hope your other projects go well and remain on schedule.

Does this "someone" have a name?

Not surprisingly, you keep ignoring Evelynn's threads and ideas from her mains. Eh, balance team, when are you going to clean DFG Evelynn from your minds?

Gavran2 votes

Eve invalidates one of the game's primary mechanics (wards) and is unacceptable now that pink wards are visible.

AngelSpite1 votes

She was too much gutted because of her passive. I think this is unacceptable.

Gavran4 votes

For someone who really loves playing her - perhaps - but that is a significantly smaller percentage of people than those who are completely robbed of meaningful counters every time she's picked.

Sukishoo3 votes

Thus is why the Mandrake ward (on the PBE) is being made. It's invisible and pings the map when visible or invisible enemies are near.

Gavran1 votes

Well that is the first I've heard of it. I'll try to find more details. I'd be okay with Eve being more viable if there was a good solution to her ward invalidation (not that I used to like having to switch to pink wards just because she was in the game, but she's hardly the only champion that can force an uncomfortable choice.)

Edit: After checking it out, yeah I think that could work. It's mostly in the early laning that it seems unbalanced - being able to ignore wards late game I think allows her core fantasy to play out - sneaking in and out of the enemy jungle, changing the odds of a well-warded small skirmish - without being overbearing, because at that stage of the game the impact one champion can have is a lot lower.

Sukishoo1 votes

It's been up for awhile but yeah most people probably still haven't heard about it yet (as they may not pay attention to the PBE summaries and such)

But it will help early on for enemies being near by, plus it's cheap at 35 gold right now

Will these additional smaller adjustments happen with 5.7 or later on?

So I guess Mordekaiser has still lots of time to wait too...

So... how many years before the team gets around to fixing Yorick?\

Rinky Dinky3 votes

Galio is not getting, and does not need a rework.

Like, at all.

Lower his mana costs/buff his base mana, and he is fine.

That E buff itself might have actually done it, his winrate when up by about 2%, now all we need is some lcs jock to lock him in so plebians can ask for him to be nerfed Urgot

Gangplank rework was mention two days ago, and is currently being worked on.

Darius Rework was canceled for some unknown reason, right after being announced it was (90% done), and we to this day do not know what happened. Buffs are currently on pbe.

What's wrong with Gangplank?

Not all champions need a rework. For the longest time, Sion was the best example of an "artifact" of League, a representation of League's humble beginnings. I will agree that a point-and-click stun on a 5sec cooldown is neither healthy for gameplay nor engaging for the player, and relaunch Sion is by far one of the most fun champions to play, one of my personal favorites. But can't we please keep a couple of champions unchanged, just for nostalgia's sake?

Gangplank DrMundo Chogath Mordekaiser Rammus Poppy all have kits that harken back to a time before League was what it is now. Let's just leave a few of them untouched.

Ptarlorr1 votes

If nostalgia means unhealthy/unsatisfying gameplay, then no. Lee, Morde, Yorick, they all need to be looked at.

However, maybe Riot can release a featured game mode where everyone's got their original kits and models for lulz.

Snip.

Leave cho untouched please! :D

Darius is fine there is nothing that needs to be done on him

Rinky Dinky1 votes

Depends on how these ult buffs effect him.

If he remains awful (Which I do not think is the case, I think these buffs will make him viable, and give him a reason to be picked), he needs a rework, as nothing else could be buffed without breaking him again.
