A "Friend in need" bonus would help teambuilder and reward people who play less desirable roles.

Lots of games have this. It's simple, you give a small IP or whatever boost to the person playing the most in demand role. It speeds up matchmaking and gives something extra to players who do the less enjoyable or less common roles. Why hasn't this been implemented.

I remember it being said at one point that they would think about adding an incentive for something like that if it was needed with the new queue. But they'd need it up for a while to see how it works out first, testing and getting the numbers and stuff.

They actually said they're thinking about rewarding people who voluntarily choose roles like support if the amount of players trying for it is too low when the new champ select rolls out.
