The support queue is not "50% faster"

Photos of Ghosts··57 votes·3,406 views

It's closer to 95% faster. Same goes for fill which is identical to support. And support secondary means "let me just wait 2:30 before getting support 100% of the time"

EDIT: also ffs, why is it that the only support item we can ping the cooldown of is the one only Soraka uses? item 3069

well riot isnt all to blame for support the whole player base wants to be the big damage dealer so no one ever wants to even learn support.Riot is partially to blame since they nerf every support the second they become relevant allowing no support to ever be satisfying But thats just IMO.

There is also an overwhelming mass of Yasuo Mid only or feed players who will just lose their shit entirely and fly off into a screaming berserk rage if they so much as misread someone asking if they want to support. I've been near those people. It is an extremely unpleasant experience, and you can't walk back that mentality.

I'm normally the support main because I was tired of having games by the hundreds (in just my experience alone!) sabotaged by those people. That's also why Dynamic Queue is going to stay. You can thank those assholes.

this is why i would rather have sona be a flavor of the month champion who was more common then yasuo because even if the sona player is shit she can still be useful for the utility.I main support as well and im starting to think i should just mid or adc since its just not working out too many bad mid or top laners

I've been trying to branch out to other roles, lately, since I got to Masteries 5 6 and 7 with the entire roster of supports, and even with some I think I could get away with as the support. I have the support role down pat.

im trying to learn almost all the supports my fave uncommon support pick is Shen

Out of all fighters/assassins Yasuo does actually have a fairly high amount of potential utility with how powerful windwall can be and he also has a AoE knock up on his Q (though quite delayed and unreliable) and his knock up extension on his ultimate

Sorry but thats bullshit, i enjoy playing support, but not every fucking game.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

its not about people playing support every game but about more people wanting to play support and not just selfishly keep spaming mid adc and top just because they dont truly value it.If more people played support Que times would be so much shorter since now we have a more balance of people wanting to play roles.

Well Riot has been trying to alleviate the problem like it isn't anywhere near as bad as when supports had gp10 item + gp10 runes and dumped all of their gold into wards

Like now Zyra and such can be a decent damage dealer while having some decent CC (though those champions pay for it by being immobile and vulnerable so you need to know your limits and how to position correctly or you will die... a lot)

Though one thing that can suck about playing support is your reliance on the ADC and most supports are rather strong early game though this power is mostly useless if the ADC isn't good or the support and ADC don't work well together

While yes ADC's also rely on their supports but if they get a bad support they can farm and carry the late game (though against competent opponents in some match ups it is almost impossible to farm when behind... if they freeze and zone instead of afk pushing)

You can't be more right. Support as a role is actually more fun that top imo but the point is, 80% of viable and meta support champions are borring as fuck (Janna, Alistar, Sona) would also list Braum but at least he isn't one trick horse like the 3 I listed. What do you do as Janna except placing that simple Tornado, point and click shield, point click slow and huge ass aoe healing pushback? Alistar...even less fun, pulverize and press R to survive, as Sona you are just poking and waiting for that ultimate lol. In the other hand look at Nami, Thresh, Tahm, Bard, Zyra, all of them are badass playmakers but everyone simply favors stupid and boring Janna.

Also, the name of the role is SUPPORT...among Mages, Assassins, Tanks, Divers, Fighters, Marksmans, there is a SUPPORT...really? Why isn't it a Playmaker, Pathfinder, Guardian, Keeper or something like that which actually sound way better and way more apealing than Support? Hech you can make it even more fun like for example when you pick Thresh, you should be Keeper/playmaker, Soraka would be Guardian/Healer, Bard would be Healer/Pathfinder, Braum and leona would be Protector/Tank, etc.

For me, there are boring champions like Pantheon who just spamm spears before he turns into a stun bot, Garen who yells Demacia and spinns, all AA based melees like Yi, Trynda Aatrox but at least they do damage and its more fun to play something boring that do damage than playing something boring that uses just 1-2 spells to annoy you like Alistar or Janna (yes whenever I pick Janna I simply forget to use her slow most of the time, I simply dont need her entire kit to be relevant and whenewer my team is fucked up I just press R lol, or Flash R for some "playmaking".

Riot is to blame for designing the game around the 5 person meta with 2 bot lane. A support cannot hard carry through ranked as well as any other role. Most people want to advance in rank and you aren't going to be able to do that as effectively as a support as you are as any other role.

A map design change could fix this. I wouldn't mind seeing a map with more lanes or more jg area above and below the current bot lane.

4:50 estimated, 48:00 actual waiting time with auto-fill thing as you can see. Seriously now, is anyone playing league anymore ? It's 2pm damn it.

UPDATE ! https://postimg.org/image/iu1k0ol57/

82:01. ROLES : MAIN JUNGLE, SECOND ( Autofill ) :BOT

They could have not added the queue time adjustment indicators, and nothing would have changed. Everyone knows mid is the most popular roll and support is the least popular

redfeenix2 votes

I used to main support before this season. Now I really fucking hate playing it. I stkll love filling g though.

Blue Moon Wolf2 votes

gee, I wonder why that is. It couldn't be that the role is practically forced to give up an item slot to be a ward slave or that they don't get to enjoy good support items cause they get nerfed after mid laners abused them.

FantasySniper2 votes

It sucks not being able to ping some things. Like, I want to be able to ping my gold to let people know why I'm backing, or ping the enemy's finished item so that they understand what they're up against.

And support secondary means "let me just wait 2:30 before getting support 100% of the time"

Normally it's not that, they made an update a couple months ago, and it was much closer to 50%, which was great. But I don't know what happened, yesterday I got 7 times Sup over 8 games... -_-'

Photos of Ghosts6 votes

Before the update, support secondary was the same thing as primary. Now there's an added delay.

DeathBurst3 votes

Nah, I actually used it, it was great. Maybe I just had a streak of bad luck yesterday, or maybe they changed the tuning recently, I don't know, but a month ago, it was great.

Photos of Ghosts2 votes

A month ago, right after the update. When people like me went massively back to support secondary. But then, one at a time we left. And now once again we're at half DQ being unusable. They really just need to make fill 50% chance of filling and 50% of random role with reasonable queue skipping.

DrCyanide1 votes

I've been saying that from the beginning! As long as they get more than 2x the current Secondary Supports, they still reduce queue and players feel better about it.

Automated Riven1 votes

they really just need to make supports feel op

Hmm, maybe that's what happened. I mostly queued Sup primary for the past month (when a champion you actually played a lot before ends up as a FotM, you'd be stupid to not abuse it coughSonacough), so I didn't notice any gradual change. But yesterday I wanted to play Top, and it was hard to get it...

Sonasaurous1 votes

Yeah, for a while I was going Top Primary/Support Secondary, and I actually did get Support 100% of the time. So now I queue Top Primary/Mid Secondary and I still get Support every now and then because apparently autofill isn't just for high elos.

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

It's for all elos except Silver normally

When you premade in parties of more than 1, then that's where the 50% applies.

I wonder if it is even coded to adjust speed % (likely not), or change roles (may never find out lol). They could just be icons plastered onto it from all we can tell.

Still, I appreciate the concept if it changes anyone's mind for a faster queue ecosystem

I just wish matchmaking was fair to supports like other roles when it comes to climbing ranks.
