Should melee bruiser items get the adc treatment?

I feel like the biggest problem with melee bruisers right now, is that their offensive items are far too expensive.

Some of the item examples : Trinity Force, Steraks Gage, Titanic/Ravenous Hydra.

These items aren't weak by any means, it's just that by the time you will get these items, it's gonna be too late into the game to make a difference. Tanks will already be too tanky, adcs will dps like machine guns etc. You get the idea. Black cleaver is perhaps the only bruiser offensive item that has a reasonable cost.

My suggestion is shave off some stats from bruiser items, like maybe less hp, less ad ,but make the items 200—300 gold cheaper so bruisers can hit their item spikes earlier into the game, the same treatment that was given to adcs when Infinity Edge cost was lowered by 400 gold in exchange for less ad.

I think the issue with bruisers is that affecting their items is guaranteed to roll into other classes.

Spiking Triforce faster for bruisers will also spike it faster for Corki, and might make it viable for someone like Lucian or Ezreal too. If it's not already, I'm not an ADC player.

Sterak's Gage coming out faster might cause issues with Garen, Darius, Illaoi....you know. Juggies in general.

Riot's got to find a way to scale items for bruisers that won't spill over to other classes who can make just as good use of them and are already in a really good place.

Not holding my breath on that one, honestly. Juggies have already taken the "massive base stats so you can build multipliers and health" niche, and tanks have the "high base damages" already so that's out.

It's a nasty corner to be stuck in =/

I don't think anybody should get the marksmen treatment. Rather, Zeal items either need to cost more or get nerfed

I especially agree with Titanic Hydra. It is too damn expensive when I'm primarily buying it for the waveclear and health. The only alternative is Sunfire Cape if I want to clear waves fast as a bruiser, but you give up a lot of offensive power for it (it also doesn't currently push nearly as hard as TH). I don't care if they have to remove some of the HP and AD, it shouldn't cost so much or take up three slots to complete. No champion that relies on carrying early-mid game wants an item that takes up three slots.

I imagine all the bruisers that don't typically build Black Cleaver are going to start building Sunfire Cape after its buffs, because it at least makes you more durable as you complete it.

The easiest way to make bruisers stronger is to make defensive itemization actually scale well, which means it shouldn't lose so hard to penetration late game. Bruisers are just as item dependent late game as ADCs, but they rely on defensive scaling instead of damage.

The last time that bruisers as a whole were good was in season 2 IMO and back then defensive itemization and masteries were actually decent. They had a lot of options to choose from and their builds weren't invalidated by cheap penetration items. The %damage reduction masteries also helped a ton. They need to bring those back. The offensive oriented trees get %damage amps and increased AS, so why not the other way around?
