I think a toned down version of the Augment system would be better for SR and ARAM than the current set of runes, and would allow for much more strategic and tactical variability. While it would most definitely be a lot of work for the Rioters, a game-wide augment system for all champions would be completely awesome.

Because at least it's just not more and more damage with superficial utility and defensive options. It actually has a variety.
So when can we have the augments system as the runes, Riot?
I like the idea of the augment system in normal play too. The thing is, besides configuring it to all champions; the power is can give.
However I completely agree with a secondary masteries system along with the already present reforged runes, so that we can do more fun off-meta builds!
