Kalista's Lunge should be automatic when chasing.

I can't think of a reason why it isn't. When chasing under the auto attack command, she is automatically receiving movement commands to stay in range of her enemy. Therefor, her passive that kicks off of movement commands given while auto-attacking should fire. That's the physical logic behind why it should occur, then you also have the fact that has a game-play mechanic it would make her passive more useful and in turn make her more balanced. (This being on account of her quite lower movement speed if her passive isn't automatic.) Kalista

I think she should work for her mobility...

She should "work for it" as she currently does for kiting, dodging, and fleeing, not for chasing.

Why? Other champions have to stutter step in order to effectively chase while autoattacking. Why wouldn't Kalista?

Teh Song1 votes

A) Because her passive specifically makes it so that she shouldn't (Logic Reason) B) Because she has slower movement speed, so her passive should be automatic when chasing to keep her balanced with other champions ability to chase (Game-play Reason)

pin>Because her passive specifically makes it so that she shouldn't (Logic Reason)

Don't agree with this one. It makes it so that when she enters a movement command after attacking, she jumps instead of walking. Nothing in that implies that they shouldn't have to do this when moving towards an enemy target. Every other ADC needs to enter movement commands after attacking in order to chase. They have to make an effort to use movement commands between autoattacks. So does Kalista, she just gets more for doing it.

Because she has slower movement speed, so her passive should be automatic when chasing to keep her balanced with other champions ability to chase (Game-play Reason)

She doesn't have slower movement speed. When she is using her passive, she covers distance faster than other champions do walking, particularly if they have to autoattack while walking. Even if she did have slower movement speed when she was jumping than other champions do autoattacking and walking (she doesn't), then making it automatic wouldn't change that. It would still be slow, but it would just be easier to utilize the same slow movement.

Making it automatic wouldn't make her balanced relative to other champions because it doesn't give her any additional potential. She can already use fully manual control to chase with her jumps very effectively. If she is used properly, she chases better than most other AD carries because the jumping covers more distance in a given period of time than autoattacking in-between walking will. Making it automatic just makes that easier. It may lower the gap between unskilled Kalista players and highly-sklilled Kalista players, but it wouldn't actually give highly-skilled Kalista players any additional potential.

All this would do is make it easier to get the same amount of potential, and I don't think she needs it to be easier.

or just hold shift while you are right clicking and that will happen

I didn't know about that, and I thank you for the information.

However it does not function properly for it's purpose with Kalista, because it doesn't keep your target if you click the ground, and the movement part of the command is null if you click an enemy. Perhaps if Riot simply alters one or both of those 2 things, that will be enough.

Oh and I tried mixing it with (only target champions), and they don't effect each other. "" just makes it so you can't right click minions, you still end up attacking them from the shift-right click dropping your target.

They are changing shift+ right click so that it targets the closest thing to your cursor instead of the closest thing to you, so it will make chasing easier, and running a little harder.

I will be pleased when that is implemented, and I'll trust your word that it is going to be. Again, thanks for the information.

It's already in, the option is kind of hard to find though. I think it is on by default though.

Keep in mind that only works if you clicked fairly close (within 100 units) to a targetable enemy.

Teh Song1 votes

You know I have no idea what 100 units actually comes out as. Is that like, an inch, a millimeter, what am I working with here?

UberAffe1 votes

Teemo used to be roughly 100x100x100 units, I dont know if he still is, the other way you can find out is to do some math. Mark a couple spots on your monitor with clear tape or something and time how long it takes your character to cross that distance. The distance in units is equal to the time it took times your movement speed. From there you should be able to figure out what 100 units is.

Also keep in mind that a unit is relative to your specific monitor, 100 units on your monitor might look different than 100 units on my monitor.

Melee attacks are approximately that range, depending on the specific champion.

Movement speed numbers mean that you travel that many units in one second, so with the base champion movement speed being anywhere between 325 and 355 (again, depending on the champion), that means that 100 units is less than 1/3 of the distance any champion can travel in one second.

100 units is quite a short distance. The attack move change is meant to help cut out accidental clicks that were just a little off your intended target, so that you're less likely to suddenly start attacking the nearest minion instead of a champion in a life-or-death situation.

Bind attack move to c. Use c to attack instead of right click.

Use ` or the button that has this ~ on it. It works like shift or 'A' but it only targets champs.

I refer you to something I already said:

Oh and I tried mixing it with (only target champions), and they don't effect each other. "" just makes it so you can't right click minions, you still end up attacking them from the shift-right click dropping your target.
