I don't actually feel like Flash is op or anything, but I do very much believe none of the summoner spells should be picked so much more often than the others. When is the last time you saw someone without flash? Never? Yea, me neither. It should be happening though. Smite is different because of it's jungle specific use, but beyond that all the summoner spells should be being used equally, and if they aren't than they need balance changes until they are.

At the beginning of league of legends you had to buy recalls, and riot made it baseline.

They should do that with flash

Riot at this point has basically designed the game around the mechanic of summoner 4 though. Wait for LoL 2.

Lets talk a little bit about summoner spells shall we?

Summoner spells for some reason have a "Lane" dependency"

summoner 21 Usually only used on mid lane mages that have a hard time escaping. So they can live just that bit longer. Velkoz Lux Xerath Come to mind with this summoner spell. And sometimes I find it on Supports Soraka but the problem is.

The summoner spell doesn't compare to how good flash is. Flash could have a 10 minute CD. And it will always be taken. Why? Cause it gets you OUT of bad spots. Since this game is league of skill shots. NOT league of point and click anymore (Back int he old days Flash was PROBABLY taken even slightly less.)

summoner 1 This summoner is just useless. Half the "stuns" or things that it should stop it doesn't. Mordekaiser Ult is a PRIM example. Malzahar Warwick R's Nocturne R things of that nature. But it simply does nothing for the job. Its a useless summoner spell item 3140 item 3222 both do better, AND you can have a completely better summoner.

summoner 3 Usually taken on the support role. Or someone that feels they dont have confidence in their lane OR against Talon No level 2 kill for you buddy. This summoner has been nerfed so hard that... Truly it doesn't feel as good as it did season 6. But still its used almost always on a support.

summoner 6 A budget flash. The only thing noticeable about this summoner is "you can move through units" this would be amazing for the AWFUL minion block we have in this game. Darius Hecarim come to mind on this spell for the reason of... Kiting vs this champs is a great key way to make it so they do nothing. (And Hec gets more damage through movement speed if i remember correctly.)

summoner 7 Usually taken exclusively by the ADC's. Gives movement speed, and a heal. Why? Cause its utility for you and your support to hopefully live even a bite longer in a bad trade.

summoner 14 Kill lane. Mids usually take it... Lowest cooldown in the game with summoner 21 summoner 6 (180) apart from summoner 11 (Being 90 seconds for recharge and 15 for next use.)

summoner 12 Usually taken by top unless you have a Yuumi or you feel like your going to feed v-v

How what do all the popular summoners have in common? summoner 7 summoner 3 summoner 14 they all bring proper utility to a fight. They HELP your team NOT just yourself.

If they wanted to make other summoner spells more competitive:

summoner 21 Make it an AOE shield. 5 man shields like item 3190 but LESS shield obviously. Or maybe the same. This summoner would probably be taken ALL the time. Not because "that would be op" but because it would finally be strong. And not so 1 person only. It would have a utility function for your team.

summoner 6 Make move through units for everyone in an aoe. Don't even need to give the movement speed effect.

summoner 1 Get rid of ALL CC. Knockups EVERYTHING. Or just give it an aoe would work aswell. This spell feels way too op for an aoe though. So it would be better off just removing ALL CC unlike item 3222 and item 3140

My Ex friend never took flash and heal, he played mostly only 2 champions. It's still surprises me how he make summoner 7 and summoner 14 work on Talon, someone who is not really that mobile.

It's the only escape opinion available on immobile champions like mages, If they add another type of escape spell, It won't be picked 100%.

Flash is the only summoner spell that functions as a mechanical skill that can make or break a play.

You can fail a flash by having your mouse in the wrong position, misjudging the flash range, or using it in the wrong order / combination with your abilities.

Everything else is just a matter of if you pushed the button at the correct time.

Bro, flash is 100% OP OP. Its so OP in fact that Riot cant buff other summoner spells to Flash level or they would literally CRUSH the whole game. They would have to remove it but that would make the game less fun so im against it. Good thing flash deals no damage so its not so tilting :D

Flash is taken because it helps everyone get away.

Its never taken on Hecarim Rammus Shaco and only taken like 60% of the time on Darius.

Flash just overall is the most important sum spell, because it enables you to get away easier.
