QOL: Make Bami Cinder stop triggering tower aggro

It's frustrating knowing that you can't pop your demolish auto on the enemy tower all because of your minimal 3 magic damage dealt to the enemy defending it. Don't tell me you can't relate to this. If you've ever played a tank top lane, this has happened in one of your games. This is even worse during tower dives. No one should take two tower shots for this, it's ridiculous.

Same thing with Vest and Thornmail and Death's Dance

I mean, any aura based anything has always entail the higher risk of tower aggro (and minion aggro). It's part of the balance.

Same goes for things like Tiamat, where attacking towers also does the Cleave effect and make sieging slightly harder since it makes tower aggro easier to acquire. That's the case right?

Champion who naturally does DoT also makes harassing enemy under tower while they're pushed in a bit of a pain since they have to purposefully wait for the DoT to expire before they can harass again or risk getting tower aggro the instant they enter tower range.

And the list goes on.

It's part of the balance scheme, I say.

If you deal damage to an enemy below a tower you get targeted by that very tower. No exceptions. It can be any AoE effect such as Bamis, Tiamat, Ludens (+ their respective upgrades and jungle item versions), a DoT through your runes or abilities, even a Braum E intercepting your AA's aimed at the turret (done this myself quite a few times). I think this is a very clear rule that doesn't allow for any exceptions.

Is it just Bamis? What about getting attacked while you have Thornmail? Now maybe you would want to limit it to small ticks, as both these damage sources deal only a minimal amount of damage. But what about basic attacks then? As long as they deal less damage than the threshold, these wouldn't trigger aggro either? There is no elegant way to solve this except saying "item damage doesn't matter", and that is a stupid rule within the framework of the game. That's why I think there should be no exceptions.

If you attack someone under a turret, you should be prepared to face the consequences. If you don't want to deal damage to them, then you should play around not getting aggro maybe? Just as they should play around to get the turret to target you - be it attacking you so they get damaged by Thornmail, going close to you to get burned, or even the Braum tactic I mentioned earlier.

I would love this change so much.

So tanks can just walk under the tower and burn you to death since they're unkillable anyway?

Dont buy bami cinder if you dont lije its aura

Ya, if riven can nuke my turret while tanking my hits, why cant I do the same to her turret...

Removing the aggro trigger entirely would make it ripe for abuse. Just walking in circles around an enemy to slowly kill them over time. It's not just 3 damage, it's 6-24 based on level. It doesn't seem like much but especially if the enemy hits you and takes minion agro, you could kill them while under turret while not actually hitting them or taking damage from the turret. Perhaps set it so that it requires a minimum of three or four damage procs before it hits. This would allow aftershock procs while limiting the abuse potential.

I agree with Op. Also, make it so bramble doesn't proc tower aggro either, because that's honestly stupid af.

I don't think you know what a QoL change is. It only affects things like controls or the interface, to make the play experience smoother without impacting balance. For example, being able to ping Garen's passive would be a QoL change. It wouldn't make him regenerate any faster; it would just allow Garen players to more easily inform their team that they need a moment to regain some health. A QoL change for Cinder would be something along the lines of a more clearly delineated visual effect for the wearer when they approach a turret, so that they can see the exact limit of how close they can get to an enemy champion before drawing turret aggro.

"Allow me to damage enemy champions under their turret without drawing aggro" not only pushes the game toward thoughtless play, it's just a straight-up buff.

This is a very poor suggestion.

Or make item 3751 toggable.

DeathBurst9/16/2019, 5:24:51 PM1 votes

On one hand, I agree.

On the other hand, as a Tank, when you are not in a 1v1 situation, you often WANT to draw aggro on YOU so that it doesn't focus your squishy damage dealer.

So, I don't know. In doubt, I would just keep the current situation, because at least it's consistent.
