@Malicious Metal, Mortekasier and any other serious Morde player

Hello people, I don't post very often but based on what we have seen so far from worlds and the lack of meaningful response from Riot (Oh don't get me wrong, they have responded, they just haven't done anything that Mordekasier needs now more than ever) I felt the need to make this post.

To Malicious Metal and Mortekasier, keep doing what your doing. Some may consider you persistent as others have given up this fight by now but don't, your not alone in this one.

I myself am a gold 5 player Na who has mained Morde since i stated and have about 70k mastery on him. I'm not saying I'm great at this game or anything but I will say that I know my champion.

Before i begin my review of the new morde, remember, This post is for serious discussion about the Mordekasier rework. For any trolls or other undesirables, this discussion is not for you. But since there undoubtedly will be one of you lurking around, I will be answering your main nonsensical point of self-validation now.

  • Morde is too strong please nerf

Let me be clear in saying that this is not true. He has toxic/ unfair advantages that allow him to succeed ONLY effective based on his team. If his support is poor or he is in a solo lane you will see what he really has become. Here is what you need to know about his current state.

  • He is completely reliant on a competent team for full success in game. It is possible to do well by himself but it is very unreliable. (Note : He is NOT built for a solo lane anymore. The winning of a solo lane is either through enemy laner incompetence or an enormous amount of luck that the enemy jungler is not interested in ganking an immobile champ)

  • His passive is butchered. Reason being is the synergy of his skills have all vanished from this rework and your shield gain compared to before is laughable if not incredibly sad. This passive is what made him so strong in the right hands. Now it is but a pale shadow of its former glory

  • The new mace of spades... This is one of the main problems we have. For some unearthly reason Riot decided it would be best to move almost all the damage of a champ into one skill. Yes it does a stupid amount of damage but if you seriously are going to let him smack you three times with out responding and for some reason no one, including your self, doesn't just CC him into oblivion, you deserved to die. Its that simple.

  • His W is overloaded and toxic. If you haven't noticed already, this is what defines a broken skill. We have a passive here that allows you to gain extra experience over your enemy that cannot be countered. Sure you can deny him some farm but what of it? He will still get some and every three minions worth of experience you get is only two for him. This one passive is just so wrong and don't fool your self into thinking morde wins his bot lane by out damaging you because if you were both at the same level you would win easily. Its this level advantage that lets him steam roll away. As for the damage its pretty horrible actually since they nerfed it into the ground so it can be self castable and surprise, its still pretty useless in lane since you still cant cast it on a minion. The sustain is ok but without it being able to be casted on minions you have very little way of catching up to a target to kill it without burning flash.

  • The new E is so unspeakably bad it hurts. The damage is horrid and the shield gain is so weak. Don't believe me? Well allow me to explain. The main purpose of this skill at the beginning was for poke and instant shield. The old E did both if you knew what you were doing. You didn't just e the enemy as the shield gain wouldn't be enough to take the harass back and with the higher health costs, you would be forced to back to base first. You lined up as many enemy minions as you could in the cone with your enemy in range before you used it. This way you could get much more shield from each minion hit and have enough to negate the enemies damage. Wow, it almost sounds like this was effective and synergized well with his passive funny how that works. Now we have 15% gain for each champ hit which isn't very much and with its little damage output you simple don't generate enough to be effective. In short this skill is quite bad.

  • His ult is reasonably the same I don't recall much they did with this.... oh wait maybe there weren't any freaking dragons flying around with you. To be honest I find the idea of this very cool but to play against it is an absolute nightmare. This thing is pretty much free objectives though any ghost will do that if you know what your doing but there is something special about having this dragon with a huge hit box blocking all skill shots with a large health pool. Also your health bar practically doubles when you have the dragon with you making the sheer gold with of this passive insane considering after the dragon dies it doesn't put your ult on cool down.

When we get down too it all of the main advantages we have from the man now are entirely team reliant. The dragon passive only works if your team secures drag but any team with half a mind will contest for it hard knowing what you can do if you get it. His damage output is mainly limited to one ability which he needs his team mates to hand deliver him an enemy to do unless you want to burn flash for every kill and his once shield gain identity is gone now that all damage has be relocated to his Q making shield gain become more of a sudden instant shield before falling off until another Q strike.

This is what we are left with ladies and gentleman, and based on his perma- banned status in worlds currently, I have a feeling the only thing we will see is him nerfed to the ground rather than fixing a corrupted kit. I'm note saying he can't be successful but I will say his identity is long gone. Please write your opinions below and please don't be discouraged if your opinion goes against mine. As long as you back up your claim with details, it is welcome in this post.

you've hit the head on pretty much everything. old morde was a tower of power that rolled solo, not requiring any teammates around for him to succeed. he was strong to be sure, but he paid for his strengths with clear weaknesses. you knew what he could do, he knew what he could do, and if you ended up dying to morde, you ended up outplaying yourself through your lack of knowledge of how he worked. and if you caught him out in a position he couldn't possibly defend, he could be easily punished. when a morde played the game of "zoning", he had no mobility to do so. if he fucked that up, he was dead, and would fall behind.

to put it short, he was a champ that relied not on mechanical skill, but decision making and superior positioning rather than raw APM or other inane shit like that.

my 2 cents

The very sad truth of the matter is that we mordekaiser mains were a minority. We were "low risk" for riot. Because there were so few of us, Riot doesn't fear the backlash that, say, a Lee Sin rework gone wrong would produce that a bad Mordekaiser one does. If I had to guess, it's why they simply don't care that they alienated the Morde mains. Why give a crap about a small minority when the vast majority never cared to begin with?

It's like ordering pizza for 30 people. 2 of those people hate pizza, but 28 of them love it, so they just go ahead and order the pizza anyway with the mentality that "Well, those people don't have to eat it anyway, nobody's forcing them" Is it unfair to those two individuals? A little bit, I'm sure a compromise could have been reached. But in the grand scheme of things, was anything of value really jeopardized for Riot? Not in the slightest.

And just like Mordekaiser, the host of the party isn't about to send back the 9 or 10 pizzas he ordered just because 2 people out of 30 hate that pizza. Chances are, this rework is here to stay.

What pains me the most is the fact that Mordekaiser has SO much potential as a champion. He could be this heavy metal juggernaut you simply have to play around instead of flashy outplaying him. He should be this immobile force of malicious Intent; I always take the LoTR opening scene as reference what Morde's supposed to be.

But what really broke my Hueart was the constant promises of "Post-rework support" Morde was SUPPOSED to get and if I even dared to write some threads, trying to desperately spark a discussion all we were met with was the sound of silence (There's a pretty badass Metal cover of this song ^^)

Will Morde get fixed in the near future? I hope so but it's unlikely, sadly. He does need a complete rework at this point and I'd be willing to give up all his basic abilities and even "allow" tweaks to his ultimate and passive (Mordekaiser IS Iron Man) in order for him to get the rework he deserves.

Nothing on the PBE. Riots done not gonna do shit. It's depressing

Honestly I'd like to know the Exact reason for each World's ban. Just to get some truth out to the community

"So why the Morde ban? " He's trash tier now with 1 god tier ability noone wants to play him. "

Well there you have it folks

I agree with and respect Malicious Metal and the rest of the Morde players trying to get something out of Riot, if they suddenly shat on my boy Draven like this I wouldn't stop till I had justice for it. Keep doing what you're doing Team HueHue.

I think I've had over 500Mordekaiser games myself, and I have 84k champion mastery points and his Pentakill skin(I never paid anything for a game except that because I loved him so much). His old playstyle was very interesting and I could play him 40 games in a row with him and not get bored. Now I just can't get used to it,even after 30 games. His e does less damage to the enemy than it does to you early game, his w is good on duo lane, but very weak on solo lane because it doesn't give magic resist/armor anymore. You can only heal from it(which heals for 10 more hp than it uses).I haven't read the whole patch notes, but it feels like they nerfed the heal on his ultimate.I mean, sure his q does puns of damage, but it takes some time to get the 3rd Q without any attack speed runes or items(except Trinity),or attacking a creep/jungle monster 2 times and then wasting a flash for a kill on a squishy enemy. I just want them to bring back old Morde/Make his solo lane better(maybe making his e cost less HP,w give armor & magic resist when cast on himself).

Well, you may think "Oh he's silver and stupid,Morde's op" but this is just my opinion.

See you on the rift! summoner 31

I might look like a scrub posting in this account. But this is just my smurf account in order to participate in the NA region.

I will never rest until they fix this abomination of a rework so for that you got my vote.

Thanks to all who have read/ seen this. I just couldn't sit by and not have my say. I did before the rework and I will say it again. If Riot still does nothing from what we see in boards, I at least hope people here who have read this keep the old Morde tucked away. So whenever they rework this monstrosity again that there will be some of us left willing to steer the changes back to something resembling his former self. I just don't want all the Morde player base to die from this rework.
