Up high into the mountains was the small but prosperous city of Calvenon which is where Avon was from. The city lied upon the Sky's Fingers mountain range, called so as the mountains were very jagged in appearance and appeared to touch the clouds. It was a naturally border between Noxian and Demacian territory. Though few envoys ever made the trip to the city their intentions were clear each time.

They wanted the city to join an alliance.

Both forces wanted the city not just for the expansion of their own borders but the isolated city had made an agreement with original inhabitants of the mountains which neither side dared to come near. The dragons of Sky Fingers. When the city first was made by settlers, the dragons silently flew passed, observing far away. What possessed the people to settle in dragon territory was anybody's guess but the people living their settled for "Brave and daring like who we are now." All kinds of dragons began to appear, far from their hunting grounds in mountains farther away.

One decided to break the silence with a gout of fire.

Buildings burned to ash and half of the city was decimated by one rebellious beast. The people though did not flee in terror. They rebuilt and carried on once again. It took over a year to get the city to be what it once was as there were few trees and large amounts of lumber had to be imported from both Demacia and Noxus towns. They did their best to purchase equal amounts from each side as purchasing a twig more from one side would set the other to find some reason to set off and burn the town to the ground for good. They kept their neutral status but it costed the city greatly, almost all the funds they had. This is where Avon's story begins as his father Bevonith was the financial adviser of the mayor of the city. After the rebuild, Avon was only eight years old at the time, remembering pieces of the blaze. He remembered the fire that burned his neighbors home and watched it's sparks blow over from the wind and burn his home down too. He remembered his fathers hand pulling him out just before the roof collapsed. He held his father tight as he waited for his mother to come out from some where as he watched the door way licked by the flames.

He and his father stood there long after the flames died and only some smoke came from what was once their roof. His father pulled him away and joined the public meeting where they would decide what to do next. He payed little attention over what they said but was drawn to a mountain in the distance where the one responsible watched. It was an unnatural beast spreading six wide wings before the sun while gripping the mountain with both its hind and fore legs. It stared directly in its direction admiring it's wrath and Avon stared back. It seemed uneased by his gaze and the red blur flew off moments later and Avon wondered if it truly could see him from such a distance. His father grieved over his loss and Avon did as well but what brought both of them out of their mourning was that they knew something more needed to be done. Suddenly Bevonith would leave for a few days leaving Avon to work for himself and would come back only to greet his son briefly then scurry off to his room. Sometimes Avon would peer into his room to see him scribbling symbols on to paper and many scrunched up pieces scattered on the floor. For two years this continued and his father was now gone daily returning at night only to return to his room. Truthfully he rarely saw him as he left long before he woke up in the morning and at the age of ten he became very curious. One morning he decided to figure out why. He had to climb in through the window outside as his dad always kept his room door locked. Once in he was inside he didn't understand what he saw. All the walls were covered with papers all with odd symbols and a single letter of the alphabet below each one. He had heard strange noises at night before he slept and it always brought tears as he thought his father was in pain. He continued to look around wondering if his father is truly insane until he saw a series of symbols on his desk. He had translated it to a location in the mountains.Avon now understood what the secret he kept all this time was.

He was trying to learn the dragon language.

By the looks of it Bevonith succeeded which means the sounds must have been him trying to speak it. Avon also knew if he knows about a place written in dragon tongue then he would be heading their soon. He wasn't the only with secrets as Avon was born with gifts no one knew of.

He was born with magic.

While most people had to work endlessly to even do the most simple spells, Avon did them with no effort. No one in the city had any powers but occasionally a troupe of performers would come with a few wizards to light up the shows. He watched a show once and watched as a wizard made a ball of light that shattered into sparks before the audience. Though they know how to mask them selves well but Avon could see it had strained the man. Avon had done the same trick twice as big on his tenth birthday, and was relieved not many people noticed that night. Returning to his room he vowed he could not stand by while his father marches to a dragons lair.

He would not go to the lair alone.
