Making a New MordeKasier : A Combination of Player and Roit opinions
Currently Mordkaiser is one of the mid lane champs that is getting a rework and from what I've been seeing I don't know if its traveling in the right direction.
First of all a bit about myself i play Morde as my main (hue) and enjoy that he has high kill potential and performs pretty well though out most of the game. His lack of mobility is his main flaw which is good (all champs need one) but lack of cc is the reason why he suffers. Because he lacks both mobility and cc there is nothing to stop a Jarven or Lee sin from rolling on him early game with at least guaranteeing a flash burned. However I like what Roit does. I'm not a hater and frankly love their work so I tried to use my own idea's as a player and quotes of Meddler on the subject to come up with our new Morde. So with all this in mind lets look at the champ himself to see where we should go with it.
All quotes are found on the boards in the discussion "5.3 is almost here and none of the promised champ changes are on the pbe" if you want to take a look for your self and the quotes are from the Rioter Meddler which for the most part I like his work.
IDENTITY
The first thing that makes a champ is his identity so i'll do my best with this and if you have anything to add please comment below.
To me Morde is a corruption. A twisted being inflicting pain and suffering wherever he goes. He is a being of metal itself delivering great blows while being durable to take the counter attack. He is someone you don't want to be any where near and if he finds you, you will feel more alone than ever. A slow coming titan, a living shadow concealed by metal and a heart turned dark by evil.

Now with this in mind let us look at one of Meddler's points

Making him tankier (let him survive in a fight longer, align with his thematics) Shifting him to more of a sustained damage dealer, less of a burst character (better match with a tanky champ, play up the teamplay on both sides from someone being tagged by his ult, rather than just having someone vanish in a cloud of damage and a Ghost appear)." Yes. This is the literal definition of this champ and what he should be. This means that we Mordes will no longer be able to hide in a bush, watch someone come by and proceed to evaporate them with our Q-E-R-
. I feel that Morde should be that champ that is a lion, throwing his victim around before finally killing them. His lore said suffering not instant explosions plus it adds some uniqueness to him and is a little different than all the high burst DIE INSTANT mid laners we have right now.

Here were going to look at what we got and compare it to his identity and hope the puzzle pieces fit (#BanjoKazooie)
Passive - Iron Man
Not much needs to be touched here. It does the job and doesn't really need any editing. It lets our friend eat bullets and
spears all day. If we really want to make him more tanky then i guess we could bump the ratio up to 40% but seems unnecessary to me. He could use a little bigger shield bar cap at 18 but maybe that's just me being picky.
Q - Mace of Spades
This is our main problem. It just doesn't do much and I feel his Q could do more so I came up with my own concept for this which fits his kit, helps with his lack of cc and adds to his identity with the idea of playing with your helpless victim. First let's look at Meddler's thoughts on the Q.
"Q as skillshot's one of the things we're trying, not sure if it's currently on the kit in testing or not. (By Meddler)"
Not what I think he needs. A skill shot requires good positioning and our metal giant has low mobility but that's who he is! The enemy laner will see him a mile away before he is even in line of sight to get the shot off. I don't think this is where we should go but hey they could surprise us all and make it work.
Here's my idea.
**New Q - Collapse **
After a short delay, MordeKaiser smashes the ground in front of him with such force that it emits a shock wave round him, knocking enemy champs a short distance away and deals X amount of magic damage where X increases the closer the enemy is to MordeKaiser. Additionally, the blow creates a fissure towards where the mouse was on activation of the ability and creates a metal spike that erupts from the ground at that location, acting as impassible terrain for 1-2 seconds or so ( it doesn't do any damage, think a skinnier trundle pillar) If knocked back champions collide with terrain then they are stunned briefly and take an additional X damage. Minions and monsters are stunned instead of knocked back by this ability.
I feel this completes his combo and gives him some utility along with making us feel like that beast throwing our enemy around a bit before killing them and here's how. You do your usual E to poke them and slow them down letting you get in a little closer. You throw your W on and
or walk into them if your close enough. You dealing you shred damage from your W as you use your Q. Making sure your mouse is positioned behind them you hit your Q. Your enemy takes damage from it then flies back into your metal spike where they take more damage and are stunned giving our slow friend time to walk up to him to shred them more with the W or you can just E-R-
and spam laugh as your DoT burns them to a crisp. But what else can this be used for? Why when the Lee sin flies to you under turret at lvl 3 you can use your Q to knock him right back into your turret where he's stunned and you escape if not get a kill. Its not full proof but I think it's a start and definitely helps compared to what we got.
W - Creeping Death
This is perfect and doesn't need any change. Why? Well for starters it gives us armor and MR, a shredding damage/per second as we are going to up in their face. We didn't before because we were to squishy but if he's getting a tanky buff then no one wants to be any where near us. This punishes those who dare. You can throw it to an ally to help them it literally is part of his identity.
E - Siphon of Destruction
I like this mostly but first Meddler has a comment on his E
Giving E a brief delay to play up the 'where do I stand inside the cage?' aspect, and then potentially increasing its range or lowering its CD's also being investigated. (By Meddler)
Not where the delay should go as this is his signature poke in lane but more importantly it is his go-to for instant shield. We need that instant shield right now as to eat up the counter attack from the enemy champ. I like the idea of a delay as it gives us this feeling of GIANT GOLIATH METAL MAN BRINGS THE HAMMER DOWN. Just not here that's why I put it on the Q. But what it could use is a slow. I'm not tinking anything massive maybe a 30-35% slow but this ability is asking for a slow and helps Morde get to his target. You like slows. I like slows. Let's have a slow. Yes? No? :( ?
R - Children of the Grave
Ah yes our favorite ult that puts people to shame as we use their ghost to kill their friends. Good times. The only thing Meddler commented on this was that he wanted to have it to tag someone then have team play to aid in bringing the target down. So I would say the damage is fine we love it for its max health damage and long DoT as we count the seconds before the enemy dies from it. We could make it so the enemy tagged is revealed for the duration making the low health escapee be hunted down by your team in the jungle. Just a thought but I think its good the way it is and memorable.

Unfortunately, as mentioned above, there are already several tanky sustained damage champs in the game, so you'd have to find a way to make Morde just different enough from them to be his own niche but still similar enough that he's not breaking balance. Not an easy task.
