On Vayne (pls read before downvote; i'm not just complaining)

Gnart Even Close··8 votes·1,094 views

The community as a whole thinks Vayne is unbalanced. The basic problem is that she scales incredibly hard into late game, has a decent early game, and a solid mid game. She is literally strong at every point of the game, which is something nearly every other ADC can't pull off. I do love playing tanks and bruisers, so I should complain about her %health true damage. I have to say, this is NOT her problem. In fact, the true damage is absolutely core to Vayne's identity. The majority of her damage is still physical, and Warden's Mail gives the attack speed slow to itemize against her. Vayne basically needs to have her early base stats (AD, AS, HP, maybe MS) nerfed, but be given higher base stats late game. This would emphasize her late game, and make her more manageable early game. Another thing I would suggest is putting more of Vayne's mobility into her passive (lower her movement speed, but increase the bonus MS from her passive). This would make it easier to actually catch Vayne when she isn't being completely stupid, as many Vayne players are. How many times have I been saved by the enemy Vayne's condemn for crying out loud?

The ADC reworks are coming up, so hopefully those changes will somewhat fix her problems, but it is quite likely Riot balance will eventually do something similar to what I'm saying. Either that or nerf Irelia, like they should :P

they dont need to balance vayne, she's not op. She is one of the more mechanically skilled champs to play, just buy a pink or have some sort of CC and u are goochi. If u get hit by a cc as vayne in a tf you are FUKED,

Vayne has a pretty solid early game due to other ADCs not being as strong anymore. Vayne scales extremely hard into the late game, yet she doesn't have a weak early or mid game. With the ADC reworks, hopefully Riot will address Vayne.

Baunjo1 votes

You guys keep missing the point. She DOES have an weak early game, but the champions who expose that are not as strong at the moment. You even said that yourself man xD

Gnart Even Close1 votes

I meant that her early game wasn't weak enough compared to her competition. The strong early game ADCs just aren't meta right now, but hopefully that will change soon enough. Also, the marksmen changes in preseason should help fix this.

Mechanically skilled when she's only point and click, right click and dodge some shit which basically the purpose of every mobility spell. Lol,I say she's one of the if not the easiest ad carries to play

Flat cap her true damage

Instant balance

True!!! And they did it with Poppy's hammer, so the precedent is set (unless if it was physical damage; I can't remember)

i think lose the invisibility when Q what the hell is that, why do I need to buy a pink ward oracles after I catch a vayne out of position.

False, just like Olaf, once you get thornmail or 2 armour items, they deal 50% true damage of total damage. Maybe give Vayne also some skill requirements since she's brainless champion

Are you an idiot? Next thing I'll see is lee sin is a brainless champ may aswell add draven in there as well. Jeez the boards are ridiculous.

TyroneWatermelon2 votes

lee sin also a brainless champion

Baunjo2 votes

Yeah, you could smash your face on the keyboard and get completely shit on. Oh wait...

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

Exactly. Once you hit your Q which is not hard, you can smash your keyboard sand get a kill.

Baunjo1 votes

... You really have never played Lee sin have you? First of all he does not have the damage to actually just smash his face on the keyboard and get a kill, the concept of smashing your face on the keyboard is actually a joke if you didn't know that. 2nd if he could say do that, he would be mostly damage, meaning he would die instantly. And sorry, but if you haven't figured out by now, this is not CoD, there is no TDM game type. " Just go in and get a kill " is what loses people the game

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

I have played Lee and he's been one of my most favourite champions since I started playing League. Heck he is easy as Ashe and master to. I know how this game works and I believe plat 5 is more skilled than bronze 2 both mechanically and gameplay knowledge. Compared to Lee sin's strengths and weaknesses he's is too forgiving and easy to play, means you can barely fuck up early game, and take this overpowered state into late game when he DOESNT falls off,he just can't get to their carry as quickly as he does at early and mid game.

Baunjo1 votes

Awesome, you used the " You are wrong because you are bronze. " Well, you are wrong because you will not back up your claim without condescending me. Goodbye.

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

perfectly fine argument, mentioning the skill difference,if you get mocked by it,thats your problem.

Baunjo1 votes

Mentioning skill difference is completely irrelevent because you have never played a game with me and are generalizing. And even if you have, " You are a lower ELO so you do not know what you are talking about " is a terrible argument. Now that I realize I am talking to a Lee sin QQer I will be more sympathetic. Lee sin has very little built in defense, His shield is frankly dismal. Lategame teamfights is based 100 % around reaction ( assuming you are trying to insec a carry ) UNLESS the other team has terrible positioning. Oh, and Lee sin does not play well from behind. He becomes literally just a kick when he is behind.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

well this is a very productive arguemnt

Baunjo1 votes

vayne has very poor range and relies 100 % on positioning and kiting. Think about what that means before downvoting.

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

Kalista MissFortune Quinn Lucian Draven and basically every single adc

Baunjo1 votes

You know what one thing every one of those champions has that Vayne doesn't? A damage or even cc spell that goes out of the range of 550. Vayne doesn't.

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

Because kalista's Q Quinn's Q and any other non high damage spell can change the tide of the game right? Vayne can safely get into teamfight, easy reposition with Q,already overpowered W dmg which makes most fighters not able to duel her,and Point and Click knockback if she magically fucks up.

Baunjo1 votes

That is not the point. Both of the champions you used for your examples for this argument were poor choice.

Kalista none the less has poke with Q, has infinite dashes ( so long as she auto attacks or hits Q ) and her ULT has great range. Quinn also has poke, which happens to have a BLIND on it, and has vault.

Where the concept of range based on abilities comes into play is not as much in teamfights, although they very very much help, but are more for lane and zoning. I do agree however, kalista Q is not necessarily going to change the tide of a fight.

Really I think the best way to go about changing her would be to make her w scale entirely with total AD. Not quite sure what the numbers would look like, but it would make the normal BOTRK rush less powerful. And if her early game trading is still too powerful, you can always just nerf to early scaling it has to fix the problem.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

That would be interesting. It would also force a trade off between attack speed and attack damage, making her proc less frequently the stronger the proc.

Baunjo1 votes

You have an upvote man. I have not yet seen a thread that proposes change to vayne that isn't to just gut her because the OP does not like the champion, and the entire community joins in a giant circle jerk. Good work.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

Thanks :)

GrReaper961 votes

Yeah they reduced her base ad by 3 good work rito that should fix everything

Gnart Even Close1 votes

they're being cautious because of the adc reworks coming out in preseason

KONO RUBICK DA1 votes

she doesn't need a higher stats at lvl 18. She is already hard to handle in late game with all her peel and true damage don't give her even more power. She indeed needs to be freaking tuned down in early level and her flat true damage should leave the game

Gnart Even Close1 votes

Higher scaling stats only to compensate for her lower base stats. I think they should be about similar late game

Fiveofswords1 votes

the community as a whole are jsut children with no capacity for objective thought. Vayne is balanced. other adc can do much more than she can by virtue of superior range etc, and as far as dueling potential goes the difference is not nearly as much as people think. If a vayne domiantes you its actually possible that they are jsut a good player

Gnart Even Close1 votes

that's pretty true. they are nerfing vayne's base ad by 3 on pbe, but giving her +.25 ad per level in compensation
