Dynamic Q isn't the reason you're losing; it's the fact that you're bad

Gnart Even Close··17 votes·1,908 views

Instead of blaming the system or your teammates, why don't you all just improve and carry? A coordinated environment means the game is being played like it should be, and if you're not part of the premade, then just realize that you need to play more carefully. Simple solution.

Please downvote this into oblivion like I already know is going to happen.

Edit: I want you to know that all of you who basically say that you shouldn't need to improve it's the system's fault sound ridiculous. If any of you have a problem with a coordinated environment, then stop playing a team game. Team = team, it's a pretty simple concept really.

Sorry if I'm being extremely salty and a bit inflammatory, but y'all need to shut it with the Dynamic Q complaints.

Well of course they do.

They can Feed. Or they can Not Feed.

They can fail at objectives. Or they can succeed at objectives.

They can fail to communicate. Or they can successfully communicate.

In fact, when it comes to Pre-Made Group vs. Pre-Made Group, it's likely the Solo Players on each team that actually decide the out come... as 'He with the worst Solo's, Loses'. Since it's rather hard to carry the 'worst player' unless he's only slightly worse than the other team's 'worst player'.

But nope, no one ever wants to consider that. Logic, to stronk. Rito nerf!

If 3 guys on your team play together, communicate together, practice together and have X MMR... and 3 guys on their team play together, communicate together and practice together and also have X MMR... then it's the 4 Guys that aren't Pre-Made that are going to decide that match over all. Because their Pre-Made counters your Pre-Made with all those 'advantages'.

i have no idea what the fuck you just said but this is how it works. if 1 person of a 4 man premade is doing good. they all do good and win. if 1 person of a 4 man premade is doing bad. they all do bad and lose.

Lauchmelder1 votes

That's actually not how it works.

SonaTitsAndAss1 votes

if they are on teamspeak or skype they lose their individual play-styles and generally work as a unit. working as a unit basically means they all do the same stuff. if that stuff fails the team fails if that stuff works the team works. its not a problem when they are less then half the team but when it gets 3 people if their logic as a group fails thats your team basically fucked.

I dont have a problem with premades but when they work as a unit of 3 and that unit fails its really fucking bad. i dont mind a smaller unit like bot lane or mid and jungle but a jungle mid and top all using the same logic and failing is extremely bad. (well i should say mid + bot or something since i always take a top/jungle roll)

KillerKell2 votes

Yet still, your Tank Top can be off on his timing to Engage one game, while the ADC just isn't focused in on his Last Hitting the next game, while Mid is a Boss God in both games.

Just being in a Group together does not ensure equality of play.

Just because they may be on the same page as far as Strategy goes, doesn't mean each is performing at the same level in executing the Strategy.

At the end of the day, it is all about which team EXECUTES better as a whole. You can have the most viable Strategy ever, with the right Comp to go with it... if you fail to execute it's not going to matter.

Yi is absolutely great for that... especially when we still had the On Hit Tank Yi. "I swear to god guys, just let me finish these Stacks, then I'm going Full Tank and never dying again!". Jax and Xin Zhou were great with the (literally) exact same build. Was probably good on Udyr as well.

I split it because the point on Yi being cool in that Yolo Solo Role is completely separate from the rest of the discussion. I was trying to agree with you on it being cool... but you over looked that trying to find some 'point' to argue against.

SonaTitsAndAss1 votes

serously does someone understand his point at all? "on hit bruisers use a simlar build" like no shit sherlock? all ap tanks use a simlar build... all ap mages are extremely simlar builds... all ad caster assassins have simlar builds... i dont his point at all

KillerKell1 votes

What point? I was agreeing that Yi is great for the Yolo Solo routine. Especially before they changed toned down Rage Blade and the synergy it had with Sated.

I simply mentioned how that Build was super strong, not just on Yi but the others I named as well.

At this point in time, I think you're just trying to find things to argue about. Hell, I'm here AGREEING with you that Yi is cool in that role, and you're being an ass and trying to pick a fight about it.

With Sated+Rage Blade to Full Tank those guys were almost unstoppable. No point being made other than "Yeah man, Yi is cool like that."

To which you come with "WFT Is your point?"

I guess with some people everything just has to be an argument.

Ummm.... no. That's some seriously flawed logic right there.

Not everyone in a Pre Made Group will play at an equal level every game. Saying that they would either all suck or all be really good is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Not even sure how you came by that bit of 'logic'.

But I'd stop doing what ever you did to arrive at that line of thinking, because it can not be possible to be more wrong.

playing league of legends since beta over 7 accounts totally 13,000 hours playing is where i get my logic from.

maybe its different down in the sewer elos where everyone is "good" at different things but as you get higher we all become pretty much one in the same as performance its just who does the stupid thinking. i would put an example of how 3 premades can fuck a game but every time i do the is some smart ass kid who goes "actually in chalijor they would do x with their fedoras"

DrCyanide1 votes

playing league of legends since beta over 7 accounts totally 13,000 hours playing is where i get my logic from.

And dodging the all important question - How many of those games have you, yourself, actually played with others?

I've had games where I'm doing absolutely terrible but my friends are doing great and we end up winning. Everyone who's ever played a decent amount with friends has. Even if the game was lost, how would one person doing bad on a premade be different than one person doing bad who was solo?

SonaTitsAndAss1 votes

properly 500? i do not playing as a team because its just a "win more/lose more" thing. your winning? get 3 people to play exactly like you and win more. your losing? still have 3 people being influence by you and losing more. as for 1 person dying on a premade thats my point. they dont normally die as 1. they do stupid shit as a group and die as a group. and if they do smart stuff as a group they dont really snowball more due to how gold and stuff is separated.

so advantages to playing in group: communication. disadvantages: a bigger potential for 1 players bad decision to snowball and cost games.

disagree with me if you want but from my experience my view is fact and you wont change my mind at all so if thats your goal save your time.

KillerKell3 votes

Is Faker a good Support or Tank Top in comparison to Pro Supports and Tank Tops? Likely not, because he honed his precision into Carries.

Huni is likely a better Top than Faker, but not a better Player than Faker over all. Yellowstar is likely a much better Support than Faker, who just doesn't have the right personality to Support properly and effectively at a high level.

So no, even for most of you guys in High Elo, you still each have your own tendencies and abilities, and weaknesses. If you were all pretty much 'one in the same' no one would climb, no one would fall. There would be no distinction.

But there is.

Your statement isn't a Fact, it's an Opinion... and a flat out silly one that how one plays the entire group plays. It's illogical regardless of the format.

I do see where you are trying to come from... Pre Made Groups will tend to die together than alone. But in reality, so should Solo. Because if you think "Umm... that Baron Call is a bad idea" and bail... there is no way you can stop 1v5. You might as well have went 'as a Team' and maybe killed enough of them that they couldn't push, or even took the Objective by some miracle of a mistake that was made by the enemy. Because in not going with the Team, you didn't stand together so now you will surely die separately... while your Objectives get over ran by the Enemy.

Which is sort of the intent of all this. To get Solo Players out of a Solo Mind Set and start realizing it's a TEAM. Things like Composition and Strategy matter, and while some times Individual Skill can over-ride through Out-Plays even 5 'I Must Carry' types can effectively communicate to enhance their chances.

A lot of the Toxicity with League came from that 'Solo Carry Mind Set'. You'd get flame for losing Lane... but okay, you're a Mid to Late Game Team Fight Champion. You were facing an Early Game Solo Champion. So now losing your Lane doesn't matter, watching the Enemy fall off because he doesn't scale while you hit your Power Spike just in time to push the Team Fights is what matters. Because while you gave up an Early Advantage you did so for the Late Advantage.

But no, people didn't see that. All they saw was the short term. You lost Lane, so you need to 'git gud'. Instead of "Don't worry, guys. He'll survive, and then when we group he'll be a major part of us Winning". You know... Strategy. Depth. Knowledge of the Macro, not just a focus on the Micro.

The entire idea here is to promote Team Play, to stop this Solo Mind Set and the Toxicity that comes with it.

The draw back is that some people simply are Toxic regardless... so obviously that will carry over. But the great news is, you can choose to never play with Toxics and Trolls again... just group with 4 Players you trust to play the game properly and act like decent people and you magically make all the Trolls and Toxics disappear.

But even if you don't group, working together can still be accomplished (and was, often, in the previous version of Solo/Duo Queue. It's simply a matter of CHOOSING to).

The idea is to get Solo Players to Play as a Team so they can improve more than just Individual Mechanics.

I had wrote shorter responses explaining how your logic was flawed. You didn't like those either, and asserted that no matter what your view was right and wasn't going to change.

So I try to go more in depth with the explanation... but that was to long so you didn't like it either.

Oh well.

oh so it was trying to change my view. yeah not gonna happen lets be real i have way more experiance on league and in mobas in general and its always been the pattern for me. i dont really care the "logic". but guess what. in some things logic breaks down like alkaline metals shouldn't be able to explode. and thats something that can have science allied to it. you want a view based subject to have an outcome that only matches yours? not gonna happen. keep in mind im not saying you should change your view because i dont really give a fuck about yours either way but thats the things i have notice, i have experience and until i get proven wrong with experiance that isnt an anomaly

Yeah, cz I need to improve something with my skills against a bunch of premades who has a higher teammate coordination & has high chances of Skyping/Curse Voice with each other.

Sounds about right.

DrCyanide1 votes

I've seen good players take command of premades I've been in, where they'll say something we need to do and it will be so obvious that they are right that everyone in the premade falls in line. Improve your leadership skills and you'll have the advantage over any premade you're against.

Baek Ma Ri6 votes

It doesn't make the game harder to win, it makes the game less fun to play with.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

if you want fun, then play normals blind pick. ranked is always filled with tilted tryhards who rage at everything, troll, and AFK (thankfully not every game). if playing in a more coordinated environment (aka a higher level of play) is not fun for you, then simply don't play it.

there are two ways to play any game or sport: for fun or to win. when playing to win, the most competitive environment is ideal, therefore coordinated premades are better. when playing for fun, you want a more relaxed environment, so you probably want to play with friends and not take the games too seriously

Vistha Kai1 votes

Wrong.

It's "for fun or for fun".

One fun is from the playing regardless of the outcome, while the other is from playing for winning and visual advancement.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

no actually, ranked is to show skill, not to have fun. it's like playing in a tournament for any sport, you're playing to win. if you aren't, then you shouldn't be in a tournament. if you're doing it to practice, then you are still playing to improve and that is not about fun either. if you want fun, play the fun modes like ARAM, normals, rotating game modes, etc

Vistha Kai1 votes

Call it how you want, excuse it however you want.

It's still the same end result, the means to achieve it vary.

You guys are low Elo, DQ doesn't affect you.

You are only proving my point.

BluePolarizer2 votes

so why should the system work for low elos and not for high elos, when it was working for both before?

I don't get this train of thought lol.

DrCyanide1 votes

It works better for low elo, where the biggest problems you face are teammates not having basic levels of coordination on their own. Premades bring some stability to the queue, even for solo players, reducing the amount of completely dumb plays in favor of slightly dumb plays that are the norm. It makes it easier for players here, regardless of if they're queuing solo or with a group.

It works worse for high elo, because those players were already past the stage where everyone was making completely dumb plays. At this point, premades can make really smart plays, which the solo players may or may not be able to compensate for. It makes them have to play smarter and harder than they use to.

Gold and below makes up 90% of the playerbase, so Dynamic Queue is an improvement for 90% of the community.

Partially correct, but not entirely so. Stats can give a prediction of which side will win a match, and the last hundred predictions for my matches have proven to be normally distributed, so it can be said there is no significant prejudice. http://s33.postimg.org/9km1br6db/histogram.png

Bobloser35553 votes

In a purely solo queue, every player has a 20% influence on the game outcome. In dynamic queue you will have a bit less than 20% because duos+ have more affect on the game, due to their better coordination. It does not inherently mean that the difficulty level to climb will increase (if the premades on both teams even out) but it will mean that it does take longer to climb.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

yes that is true. but if you are part of the premade, you have slightly more impact so you can climb faster, but not easier.

Critmaster Garen3 votes

you dont understand.

dynamic que didnt prevent me from climbing. in fact until now, i got slightly further up the ladder this season than the last. (probably coupled with the fact that i tried to play more serious and consistently this year).

but it made the entire experience absolutely horrible. it was worse than solo que climbing ever was. dynamic que doesnt prevent you from climbing until a certain rating at least. but it is absolute cancer.

I mean, it's sure fun to not being able to walk out of the base, because every time you appear on the map you get a perfectly coordinated 3-man gank... and you realize for some reason all of those people have the same club name.

Yes, I had a situation like that happen to me quite a few times since DQ was introduced. Never had something like that happen in "solo" queue. The worst I ever got was ending up aganist a guy who was duo with the jungler, but that's about it.

Gnart Even Close1 votes

if you don't want to play in a coordinated environment, then why are you playing a team game? besides, normals is there if you don't want an organized, competitive environment

It's not "coordinated environment" if half of people are complete strangers and then in the same match are groups of people who can communicate with eachother outside the game, for example via voice chat.
