How viable is AP Shaco mid lane?

Probably not very viable unless the Shaco is extremely experienced with Shaco and VS the person hes against. Burst mages and cancer-assassins could easily 100-0 him. I think he's a lot better as a jungler because he can sneakily gank all lanes after he quickly clears camps with his boxes

you can stack mejai's real easy and since you don't need flash you can take ignite and teleport and gank lanes like a god from mid while never being ganked, all you need is to kill the siege minions with your e, I would recommend looking at some shaclone ap mid games since he does it pretty well

Very viable, if you are significantly better than the opponent

I've faced a D3 Shaco ap mid recently and he was pretty good. He ended up winning the game (other lanes were winning too), had a strong laning presence and was pretty scary when he roamed. One of the things to know is that he started boxes and did a jungle camp so that he literally comes to the lane lvl 2 (and full life) which gives him an advantage, because his laning is not that great without some sort of advantage. I had veigar and pretty much farmed up through laning phase, I was pretty bad on my E's this game so I didn't manage to get kills on him, especially since he was extremely good at pressing R to dodge projectiles (he can dodge DFG,Q and R).
