A Reminder for Riot for Pre-Season 6

Riot. You buffed AD items (which is completely fine), BUT you nerfed (more like made it more costly) all armor items. Why?

In a situation like this, you NEED to BUFF armor items slightly or you need to buff up everyone's base armor excluding ADCS and Yasuo especially.** Just remember this, try to fix any potential mistakes with the time you have now instead of waiting a whole patch of stupidity to go by.**

I keep seeing this claim make its rounds. "AD items are buffed." No, they're not. They're rebalanced. Most of them give less AD. Less attack speed. More crit. A variety of life steal/spellvamp options, but no feasible way to stack them without sacrificing too much in other areas. Choices between flat arpen (beat squishies), % bonus arpen (beat fed tanks), and stacking armor shred (takes time or rapid hits). ADCs will be doing less damage, slower, and relying more on crit, which is an indirect buff to Randuin's Omen (and a nerf to their tower-taking power, which BY THE WAY got buffed for AP champions). BoRK got nerfed. Most defensive items with health now give more health.

Everyone's full build got more expensive, but lower tier items are cheaper and gold income is higher. The result is the build paths overall are much smoother no matter what your class or role. These changes aren't happening in a vacuum. You need to observe them in context to properly judge them.

Well said. Finally one objective view on those changes.

Well, indirectly, buffing health items buff's BoRK. (Yay, a fellow, uh, person who says Bork instead of BoTRK!)

It was always, BORK :) Yeah, there are many relations between stats and items, exactly what i need to finalize learning on to get on next level of understanding our beloved game :)

Technically, most AD items were slightly nerfed with the -15 AD on IE and Essence Reaver, and -5 AD on Mercurial. I get what you mean though.

Technically yeah, but with easier crits and no-caveats grievous wounds, it's hardly a straight up nerf. Giving/taking away utility is almost always more impactful than sheer numbers.

It's like every single person in the forums just forgot about the fact that last whisper now only works on bonus armor, at the same % it effected all armor before. It's going to have a reduced effect on everyone. Tanky champions are likely to be even harder to kill than ever before.

Couldn't agree more with last sentence.

Except A. the AD an ADC is going to get has gone down significantly and B. %pentration got nerfed hard. Also gold generation is up so many champs including tanks can actually build somewhat faster than before.

Mind you they nerfed Armor once already when the juggernauts rework came out as well so its a nerf on top of a nerf

They nerfed the overall amount of AD in the game, nerfed the amount of AS, and nerfed armor pen substantially. The only thing that got buffed was crit.

So how come you still see adc's running around with 400 ad then? Buffing crit gives them standard 1200 auto's now and removes the rng, sure not many like rng, but now come late game crits are guaranteed

I've been figuring this since the juggernaut items: They want you to buy more armor items and damage, so they're buffing MR so you don't have to buy as much, and simultaneously making armor items less efficient while offering more of them.

the natural armor gains are more effective in this new season because the last whisper only reduces armor from items so in a way they also got buffed.

to be honest tho i think supports got the biggest buff since everyone starts with an upgraded trinket.
