Best Yasuo Nerf that won't gut him. Hear me out.

INTENT: Yas gains 50% bonus crit from crit sources (As opposed to "double crit"). but his Critical strike deal 90% damage, reduced to 75% damage on Steel Tempest.

Now with this, Yasuo needs to build 3 items to get 100% crit.

Biggest step in history to actually do something about Yasuo

What do you guys think? Is this a fine step into tuning the Critting-Hasagi-Monster? Or is this a waste of a post. You decide with this poll.

I'd rather they make his dash on minions draw aggro and reset the auto attack of the minion he dashed on. Let him eat a few more minion hits if he's gonna be obnoxiously dashing around in the minion wave for minutes at a time just to poke you with 1 q because he can.

Less interested in nerfing him, more interested in pushing yasuo players away from some of their more annoying tactics in lane.

Just delete him, it's simpler

Yasuo is honestly already weaker than he was in 5.21, and significantly so. 100% crit with Shiv and Cloak doesn't mean shit when Shiv has been gutted so hard and there's so much less AD in the game. Shiv gives such of a small powerspike now that you're better off just buying a BF sword or a Sheen instead of finishing Shiv, assuming you're even building it anymore, which I don't. He's already down to around 46% in Plat+ elo, any more nerfs would make him garbage tier again.

Gregor Gysi2 votes

I assume you mean weaker than in 5.22? Otherwise I do agree.

Slamurai Jack4 votes

Weaker than both. Yasuo was OP in in 5.22 before Warlord's was nerfed since that extra sustain gave him laning strength he wasn't intended to have. However, once Warlord's was hotfixed, Yasuo settled into being slightly weaker than he was in 5.21 overall since Shiv was no longer as strong of a rush item, but still scaled well. With the gutting of Shiv in 5.23, Yasuo is now considerably weaker than he was in either patch and really has no good item to rush anymore. With the upcoming nerfs to Fervor of Battle, he's about to be left without a particularly good keystone to use either. The best Yasuo players will survive but most will have a hard time winning with him anymore.

I don't think a lot of people realize that every point of damage against champions that shiv lost was doubly impactful on yasuo because of that crit chance they whine about so much. The item is basically garbage now unless you're looking for adc waveclear that's not ruunans.

people don't care, they just see someone defending yasuo and downvote,

Make his windwall cost flow, Duration of windwall scales with flow 0,05 - 3,75

Make each steeltempest cost a small amount of flow.

As compensation he now gets 100% flow when he ults

His crit now also scales with ult, starting at 25% bonus with 50% bonus at lvl 6 and 75% at lvl 11 and finally 100% at lvl 16.

Slamurai Jack8 votes

Yasuo already gets 100% flow when he ults, idiot.

Spoofghoul19 votes

So we remove that first

Then we can say its a compensation buff

darkmatchwaldo4 votes

so replace flow with energy? that's what it sounds like to me.

King of Mongoose4 votes

that's a horrible change

FadedFreezy4 votes

Remove flow. Give him energy as a source. The passive shield is part of why he needs a nerf on top of the discouraging damage he can dish out.

EcchiOtakuTM2 votes

Actually I like it however remove the crit damage reduction that's too much damage lost for 25% crit

Crit damage lowered by 10%(which it is currently) is enough and 50% instead of the current double is reasonable.

Just imagine Yasuo Season 5. The whole statement is actually how Yasuo's Q works. I put a link to his whole kit. Season 5, Yas would have 80% crit with IE and Shiv. With these changes, It will put it at 75%. Does it means that Yas should have a compensatory buff in exchange for this nerf? I personally don't know but this is the time where PBE can shine and where Riot can actually read what the testers have to say about them.

Do you even math bro?? in season 5 Statikk+IE gave 40% crit. Double it and you get 80%. But if you increase 40 by 50% you get 60, not 75....

Dunkrius2g1 votes

I was thinking about something else last night but that is not related. 2nd, IE gives 20%. Shiv gives 30% crit. 30 + 20 = 50 50% of 50 is 25. 25+50=75. Look at shivs stats. By saying "imagine Yas S5, im referring to the amount of crit he will have with IE and Shiv. S5 = 80% crit. With supposed change in PS6, 75% crit.

Dude, you said season 5. It's not season 5 anymore... in season 5 statikk was 20 and ie was 20. i know that statikk gives 30 now. You should have clarified it. Did you delete the other comment or did a mod do it?

INTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is doubled equal to his item combine, but his Critical strike deal 100% damage, reduced to 100% damage on Steel Tempest. Fixed

Dunkrius2g1 votes

I can see Slamurai Jack anytime soon coming in on this comment. Well here is his statement anyway

"No deal. Without the double crit passive, there's no reason to build crit on Yasuo at all. Say hello to on hit bruiser Yasuo! item 3153 item 3078 item 3142 item 3742 item 3102 item 3111.

If your supposed change does occur, then he needs more than that to make up for the loss of damage.

Milodic Mellodi2 votes

What if he had a few-second passive cooldown that lowered his Crit chance by like...up to 5-10% every time he used an ability, and then reset to normal after that cooldown? So it makes you have to think about how you're using his abilities, and that you can't just go and spam them without potentially losing a lot of Crit damage.

Sammystorm2 votes

Move his shield passive to his w and have it scale with skill level.

Nekusen2 votes

having in mind everything Yasuo has, does he really need an increased crit chance ?

Left Hook Larry2 votes

Lol you want to nerf a 48% win rate champ? You really want to make his win rate even lower? Theres a reason riot doesn't listen to these boards

ChaosThief1 votes

Win rate is almost irrelevant by itself. Stop throwing it around like it's Riot's law.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

When a champ is at 54% win rate then drops to 47% win rate after one patch is tells you a lot.

Win rate shows you a lot more than kids complaining on boards

ChaosThief2 votes

Yes, it is a factor, but not the ONLY factor you should look at. A giant drop may indicate that the champion got weaker in the situation, but not anything else besides "this character is weaker."

Also, win rate on champions is skewed based on games played. More games are played with less experienced yasuo players, dropping the total win rate. Making him 50% even on that would mean experience players have a much higher than 50% win rate.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

"Yes, it is a factor, but not the ONLY factor you should look at"

Of course it's not the ONLY factor. But it is one of the biggest signs of whether or not a champ is broken and I don't see any other evidence in this post that shows that he is. But I do see his win rate.

"more games are played with less experienced yasuo players, dropping the total win rate"

People who have 5 games played with him average a 39% win rate. People with 125+ games average a 50% win rate. If anything this shows that Yasuo is quite weak right now compared to before the pre season patch where people who had 125+ games on him had 54% win rate. Now they have 50%.

shalexade1 votes

Yas has gone from a 52% win rate to a 46% win rate.

His play rate has also dropped by 20%.

Based on what you're saying, then the win rate is offering more than usual as all the less experienced guys are dropping off.

ImTheRealGnar3 votes

He has a low win rate because people pick him into team comps that don't work with him. Lets pretend that they're 2 teams with both Yasuo on it. One team has a Malphite while the other doesn't. Who do you think is going to win? The team with the Malphite and Yasuo of course.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

This isn't a valid argument. Of course if you put any champ in the best possible team comp for them that they're most likely going to win more. Put Kog Maw in a protect the carry comp and he will have a much higher win rate. It doesn't work like that.

if people actually knew how to work with him, then they should know how to counter him too

Nekusen2 votes

winrates mean little and nothing, what really matters is:

  • Pickrates (21%)

  • Banrates (53%)

Meaning more than in more half the games people don't want a Yasuo in it, and from the 47% left, a 45% (of that 47) Yasuo is picked.

In other words, Yasuo is banned more than half the games, and half the times he is available he is pickled.

Slamurai Jack1 votes

Pickrates and banrates don't mean shit in this sheepish community. People, especially those in lower elo, constantly overvalue champions well after their period of glory is over. Yasuo was indeed OP the first half of 5.22 before Warlords was hotfixed. These pick and ban rates are merely run off from that. Give it a couple patches of Yasuo at a 46% winrate. People will catch on and stop caring about him, and by extension, stop banning him, just like they did last year after 4.18.

AceBlack2 votes

Plat+ players with 125+ games on him still only have a 50% winrate with him. Meanwhile, champs like Quinn and Tahm have 70%+ WRs.

Where's the "he doesn't need any more nerfs" option?

Old Man Teeto1 votes

So Yasuo builds Flat AD and gets 50% crit chance base line without building items.

Good idea.

ItzBongoz1 votes

No the bonus is 50% in his idea, instead of being doubled like it is rn.

Old Man Teeto1 votes

INTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is doubled increased by 50%

Clearly his wording is wrong. This reads he gets 50% crit chance baseline.

RamboDash151 votes

I may have misread this but are you saying to give him 50% crit at lvl one without items?

ItzBongoz2 votes

No he's saying for the crit bonus, it's 50% extra instead of doubled.

RamboDash151 votes

Okay, just needed some clarity on that regard, thanks

Kuroi861 votes

Saw someone else suggest moving it from his passive to one of his windwall, forcing him to choose between leveling his dash first or his windwall.

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

Yasuo has the same problem that Nidalee had. He's incredibly oppressive while ahead, and next to useless when behind. The difference? Riot dumpstered Nidalee, and is resistant to doing the same to Yasuo.

Tis a nice day1 votes

So just a straight up nerf without compensation?

CoolKnightST1 votes

Their is an easyer solution. Move the RESOLVE passive (the shield) to his W. So all his defense is located into one skill.

ZLbSwAR23I1 votes

Yasuo gets 50% bonus crit from crit sources.

Crit damage is no longer reduced.

There you go.
