It's time to separate Live Play from Pro Play

There was a valid argument for not doing so before: "We don't want people to be watching pro play and thinking, "Oh wow, these guys are really good at a completely different game than from what I play", we want them to feel like they can attain what they're seeing".

Ironically, not only do people not want to attain what they're seeing, but tons of people aren't even seeing it anymore. People are looking at pro play right now (key word looking, NOT watching) and thinking "Oh no, the pros started playing my champion regularly even though he's not that great in solo queue. I can't WAIT for my champion to get nerfed at no fault of its own." People used to get excited when they saw their main in pro play! I know I freaked out when Sion had his day (when he was first reworked, not when he was played as a poke bot...)

There is no good reason to have pros be on the same patch cycle as live players anymore. All it does is frustrate live players (especially when you do something like Nerf Sejuani just to try and control the Worlds meta. Oh man, I bet that stings for all of the Sej mains who were DOING NOTHING WRONG IN SOLO QUEUE.) and stress them out with thoughts of "Oh god, who's next on the nerfing block? Rek'sai? WHY, I struggle to win with her enough as it is!"

Just stop.

I believe you forgot the part about imitation over innovation or the "RIP SoloQ" plug the moment something new or consistent dominates the competitive or high elo scene. You blame it on competitive but it's that very mentality of "they do it so well....I can do it too!" that results in an influx of awareness in some changes. Of course there's a few exceptions. I can't complain; I'm one who tends to like nerfs to my champions because I'll still play them to the adjustment they make. And I get the parrot pack off my back for it as well; the base that tells me I'm trolling for not playing their way.

Besides, what all is the Sejuani's nerfs? Minor damage to a supportive CC and a lower SLOW DURATION on the ult. That ult is usually only to connect the stun or be flamed and ridiculed as is. I hardly ever consider the impact of the slow. Plus it's an ult; it's not like it's THE core necessity for making Sejuani good.

And you're right to a point; there's no good reason for pros to be on the same patch cycle....because they're more than regularly on the previous patch cycle during competitive weeks! So what's being played and observed on a previous patch is being nothing more than imitated on a live patch until the competitive league catches up and adjusts to whatever change occurs unless players are aware enough to make the game work for them. And then the cycle continues, especially at scenarios such as Worlds.

So why should there have to be two different patches? That's only going to lead to eventual "champion in competitive" complaints or "why not this buff/nerf for us/them" outcries.
