"The common factor in every single one of your losses is you."

Guess what? The common factor in every single one of your wins is you as well. And we all have games where we play like shit and deserved to lose but still won anyway. Logically, we all have lost games where we played really well and deserved to win too.

The only common factor in all my losses are raging Polish players.

Seems racist on the surface, but every EUNE player can relate.

Spoofghoul2 votes

Ah so on EUNE it's the polish then

On EUW we got the french

i always get non-NA players that speak in boxes and feed

Those boxes. I always wondered what they meant and how they even appeared like that in the first place. Perhaps it's better we don't understand.

Lift your hands off the keybord and walk away regardless of what team you are on. If you're against Shaco, you're gonna lose no matter what. If you're on the same team as him, you're gonna win no matter how shitty you are.

Nah, we got Chinese/Koreans on NA who don't speak English or very broken English.

I remember when Mexicans were the most toxic people in NA. Now it's actually any native English speaker. LUL

Tell me about it. I played on EUNE for 3 years, but then I couldn't take it anymore and transferred my account to EUW. 4 Polish/Russian players raging every single game, threatening to report you if you jungled, not using any English except to insult, and playing stuff like Darius/Garen duo bot lane and feeding.

Fear not, on the NA server it's teams of premades who literally only speak Chinese.

My common factor is my current botlaners going 0/7 then rage quitting in the first 6 mins

Great Muta1 votes

The game is pretty much over if it's 7-0 in 6 mins. Yeah, you might be able to turn it around, but the chances are unlikely and if you do, get ready for a 40 min game.

SleepySlayer6 votes

Pretty sure matchmaking stacks games against you by giving you shit team mates. Dont let Riot know or they'll perma ban you and unban a super toxic streamer to spite you.

Why is he downvoted? It´s TRUTH

I just lost 5 games in a row? I was the factor in it?

I don´t think so.

Two games I had 2 rageing Yasuo with stats like 1 / 24 / 4 (NO JOKE) http://matchhistory.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUW1/2915868626/29993585 and stats like 3 / 18 / 6 walking into the enemy cus "lol just normals" http://matchhistory.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/EUW1/2916752103/29993585

Then I get a feeding Jace with 17 death (how do you even DO that!)

Now I just got a Kennen afk. Without any reason. Looked like a bot.

Riot DOES it on purpose.

I got an account banned recently after a 7 game loss streak with: 3 4v5 games due to AFK's, 5 games where the score was something like 22-5 by 20 mins and the final nail in the coffin where I was group blamed for my whole team shitting the deck. Got a ban after.

Slythion5 votes

There's this thing in statistics called the "r^2 value". It represents the % of the data (aka, your win/loss ratio) that can be explained by whatever factor you are using, in this case that would be you.

My guess is that about 80% of your wins/losses could've been controlled by you, and I see no reason to worry about that other 20%. You can't control it, so try to get that 80% win rate by focusing on yourself and hope that the other 20% of games go in your favor. You can't win em all, but you can certainly control most of them.

Zepper3 votes

A better way to put it is that if you yourself are bad, you are guaranteeing that your team has at least one bad teammate whereas the enemy team doesn't. If you are good, then you are guaranteeing that your team has at least one good player whereas the enemy team doesn't. So theoretically, you will have more good teams than bad teams so long as you win lane and play accordingly. It's really that simple.

The common factor in every single one of your (season 6) losses is DQ matchmaking

FIFY

In all seriousness though, I normally support this claim. I have a bronze friend that thinks he is gold material but is systematically held down by "trolls, leavers, etc". This is shit. I do, however, sympathize with people who were unable to reach their ranked goals this season due to DQ. That changes this dynamic in a big way, as premade in ranked remove solo players' ability to impact their games by reducing agency and generally just cause poor quality matches. Also, there is a significantly better chance of being matched against a premade than having one on your team (example: if a 4 stack queues up and gets matched with 6 other random solo players, you have a 1 in 6 chance of being put with the 4 stack).

Zepper2 votes

If you put a Gold player in Silver 4 are you saying that he won't be able to solo climb his way out because of Dynamic Queue?

MonkeyMadness2 votes

Ok, let's look at the raw numbers. Many players climb with a mere 51% win ratio. But DQ causes the win rate of solo players to drop by a couple percent. That puts that nice 51% at 49%. You simply cannot climb with that kind of win ratio. So yes, I am saying that if a gold player is dropped in mid silver after provisionals, it will be very difficult for them to solo carry their way back to gold. It happened to me, but in my case it was the climb from gold back to plat that proved difficult.

DarkRitual3 votes

Might I ask for sources on your numbers for Solo players having lower winrates?

MonkeyMadness3 votes

Riot reported them quite some time ago. But if you need numbers to back up the concept that premades have a higher chance of victory then I really cannot help you...

DarkRitual1 votes

I recall the article's existance now. Do you happen to remember what it was called?

MonkeyMadness2 votes

Nah, I think there were 2, actually. One that was talking about the fucked up state of DQ right at the start of the season, and then a second one a few months later showing that they had made improvements, but still definitely favored premades over solo players.

Edit: it might have been one of those "Riot Pls" posts, but I can't remember. I'll keep digging and see if I can find it.

Edit: found it http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/dynamic-queue-matchmaking-update

DarkRitual1 votes

Ah okay. My only issue with the low amount of data provided in thast article is it lumps solo players in with groups of 2-3. I'd really like to see how that graph would look if solo player winrates had their own column to see how much of a difference there is between solos and the other groupings.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

But such data would make Riot look bad, they'd never publish that. They will continue to act as though Dynamic Queue was a great idea and that they just failed on it's execution, rather than admit the truth that they fucked up at the conceptual level.

DarkRitual3 votes

I really liked the concept of DQ. It was just mishandled so horribly early on, and gave players such a sour taste in their mouth anytime Riot tried to talk about it.

It had some great concepts, and good intention. It tried to make the game better for people who wanted more ways to play with friends. It elevated some of the playerbase, but at the expense of others.

If they only added the option for Trios to queue up, it likely wouldn't have been a problem this season. At the beginning, there would have been some commotion, but it would have likely died down after a short time as people accepted it. There would not have been the "5 man group vs 5 solos" or "1 solo with a 4-man gets ignored, fuck rito" qq threads and all that negativity bias towards the system.

Great Muta1 votes

I had a 67% winrate this season and through 100 games I was only able to go from B5 > S5. Meanwhile some streamers are having lesser winrates and getting much further.

Colgate Gator5 votes

Personally, I hate the feeling when I play like shit and win, because it means I was a total liability for my entire team and they had to carry my dead weight.
