Problems With Veigar's "Buffed" Q
Argument: Veigars new Q makes farming easier.
- This is the only argument for the Veigar Q that I would agree with however the tradeoffs for this are not worth it.
Argument: Veigars new Q lets him harass from a safe distance.
- Just no. With the Q able to be blocked by minions you will never hit a competent laner with that Q in lane.
- The range on the Q is not long enough to "safely" harass almost any other midlaner. It puts you in range for most other midlaners harass and they can combo theirs with other abilities most of the time as well while you have no other harass or mobility ability. Veigars E is also not a very reliable soource of peel against a lot of laners. -Your opposing laner sneezed and actually walks into your stun, if there are minions you cant Q him at all. If you relocate yourself to be able to land a Q you are in the danger zone where the stun wheres off and you are in their range while having no peel for yourself.
- After casting Veigars E 10 times and finally stunning the other team you cant hit the target you want most of the time because they are being blocked by the bulky tanks that are standing on top of them.
Conclusion
- The new Q is very unreliable in any offensive uses and is only proficient at farming. With the nerf to his E and the change to his Q Veigar's only reliable damage source is his ult. Every other ability can either be blocked or easily avoided.
- That being said playing Veigar now feels like playing Nasus where your whole objective is to farm and only farm, however unlike Nasus that has a slow that might as well be a root, you have no reliable way to land your damaging spells on the target you want to hit for the late game after you stack your ap which kind of defeats the whole purpose and you cant just run around the front line or you'll be caught out instantly and deleted by the enemy carries that have more reliable damaging/cc spells then you do.
