Literally watching them one shot 70% of the enemy ADC's health, and in many games ending with damage on par/similar to the mid lane, especially with Aery.
The amount of damage in the game right now is absurd. Did anyone even play test the new runes?

I usually argue that whatever Support Sona can do, AP Sona can do better, or at the very least with much better consistency. I'll trade out all the Support item actives that you get once per 40 seconds for far more badass spells every 4 seconds thank you.
However, to each their own playstyle. She's a generalist champion for a reason. :)

But I never liked being that big star of the team in the damage sense. Maybe every now and then, sure, but for the most part... I just want to protect everyone, and more importantly I want to keep myself safe while doing it.
GinoSoldier1 votesI just have this Fanon perception of Sona having a Draven-esque personality as a renown Demacian/Ionian performer of the highest caliber. Reading through her old lore fragments, we get no interactions with her, or word of her interacting with anyone outside of her Etwahl, the league Summoners, and her noble adoptive mother. She entered the League because she felt it was the best stage to practice her musical skills in battle.
And in my head, a performer of the highest caliber shines in the main role, giving a slow-starting performance that ramps into a crushing finale. The same way Sona goes from a sluggish early game, to a fully powered, terrifying force when building AP.
Truthfully, while nuking people does have a degree of fun to it, it's really Sona's W and E scaled up that usually make me go 'wow'. I don't think any other champion can hit a steady 540 MS without boots outside of probably AP Janna and a handful of outliers. Not to mention giving similar mobility to the team. Similarly, the sustain you provide (up to 300-400/W!) to your team usually means you can act riskier, or longer than teams typically would.
Maybe it's just me, but i'd much rather she were reworked into a better midlaner kit-wise, even at the expense of her support role, IF need be. Even though she's unlikely to change for a really long time, given Riot's silence about her.

My fanon perception of Sona is pretty much the complete opposite: I picture her a demure, gentle person (which might be why Im not keen on AP Sona xD ) In fact most of my thoughts on Sona are purely fanon because of how little info they give us on her (like for the longest time I liked to imagine Sona and Lux being friends. I still do, even with Lux's updated VO)
I really am wondering what they'll do for her future lore, and if it might change either of our views on her
If they do rework her, Im honestly just scared she'll become something I ddont like. Sona is basically League to me, if Sona is gone, then I probably won't have much reason to play League anymor, sad to say.

She has like the lowest base AD in the game and will only contribute like 50-70 damage early, Rushing a Lichbane with no AP to back it up is also a mistake, it works much better when you get something like a Morellos behind it

Sona can get more AP than any mage currently in the early laning phase, I remember coming close to 50 AP when upgrading to a frostfang and you’re telling me she gets no AP? Also with Riot slapping beautiful CDR on it her Q is has a better up time now.
