Im in california, I was getting 60 ping stable (whats this magical 30 ping or below unless you live right smack dab in LA) I'm in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Im getting 100-200 ping now
edit: the 100-200 isnt during a single game it is 100-200 over periods of games
Ie game1: 100 ping game 2: 200 ping game 3: 150 ping game 4 : 120 ping game 5: 200 ping
ect...
my ISP is Verizon wireless its still stupid to go up from 60 ping to this madness

youre "closer" because silicon valley (central ish california north of LA) companies like apple and google have made their HQ's and in turn ISPs focus their money laying down cables north instead of south

I live in southern Alaska, and I'm getting a 100 ping. Before the move I had a 52 ping, and I miss it. You can notice a difference, and I'm still very unhappy with it, but at least it wasn't 140 like it was when they were moving.

Something is wrong with your internet though. It should not be that high from where you are unless you have slow internet. 60 seems a little high since you're so close to Portland where the old servers were. If it's not your speed, then you should contact Riot and your ISP. Check out the Chicago Clinic thread in Help & Support.
Arcade Andrew1 votes60 is actually very fast/decent ping (its in the green at 60) and up until the server move my ping was for the most part stable (except for when they did the tests on certain games and all that)
ever since the servers moved the "stable" ping ill get is 120, but as stated after the server move its all over the place now which is why Ive pretty much stopped playing ranked because im losing games thanks to me not being able to know if ill lag or not 120 ping IMO I can play on (it pisses me off that Im forced to play on it but..)the problem is ever since the servers moved my ping has been randomized like the numbers I provided. I dont 'want' to have to go post in the clinic thread, I shouldnt have to. riot needs to make a west coast and east coast server. its as simple as that. Hawaii and Alaska got screwed over for one, and most of the west coast is not under that magical "we want to bring everyone to 80 ping or below goal" all I saw was the west coast mainly got over 100 ping (some got it worse) and the east coast all got 0-45 ping (with the exception of a few states that are far north/south)

the problem is before the server move it was stable at 60 ping (100 only when there were lag issues due to my ISP/wind/heavy toll on servers, which was rarely)
ever since the server move its been 100 some games 150 others 200 others sometimes even 400 its completely random

Meep Man1 votesI'm certain that's your computer. 200 ping is too much. When the server was in California and I was in Georgia, I had about 140 ping at most, 90 minimum.
That's just too high for the distance. I know someone in Hawaii who's ping is around 130 and thats Hawaii.

Dude, my point is 60 ping is pretty high for being in California when it was in California. Its good, but its high for where you were. Now its far away and now its showing. Double 1 is only 2. Double 2 is 4.

My mistake. Your connect still shouldnt be that high, that close. Look, 100-200 ping isn't normal. Thats way too fluxuating. Several people have commented that they live in LA and have around 60-100 ping. You live more south and have double that ping. Thats not right! Someone in Alaska pointed out his ping is around 100. He's an entire country away. Your ping is not right!

I got 60 ping in 95% of all my games that NEVER fluctuated
WarlockLaw1 votesAre you using a wireless connection? If so then it could easily be on your end as WiFi tends to be worse than ethernet. For example if I play on my WiFi my ping fluctuates in varying levels of unplayability but when I play with ethernet my ping is stable at 30
