Couple things here. You cannot stop smurfing. It's a free game, and they do not do IP Bans. Blame Riot for placing everyone in Silver after placement matches.
Also not all smurfs want to be smurfing, I was smurfing and I went 17-3 in 20 games. In Bronze and Silver, the only times I lost were because of extreme toxicity, AFK's, Trolls, and Ragers..I much rather have my 2nd account automatically put back up to Diamond where I don't have to deal with these people.
To me as someone who's smurfed, It's a completely different game that high elo. In high elo it is expected you know what you are doing. I can't just randomly pick Twitch ADC because I feel like having fun that game. If I do not know Twitch mechanics inside out I will be destroyed and lose LP and everything I worked for to get that high up.
I cannot take a chance at Top Lane against a Top Lane Riven main in Diamond. In high elo you either play normals or play seriously competitively. Also most high elo players are by nature competitive people which is why we are spending time to be so good at a random video game, even if it's a hobby or not, we like being good at things.
Normals are not competitive, and never will be. For a competitive person who's Diamond there's no satisfaction of winning a No Elo game where people aren't even trying because it's norms and nothing is at stake.
So we make smurfs, we play ranked and see low elos trying to piece together their useless builds, see the occasional good player who will rise up eventually, see people rage at nothing, AFK for no reason, Troll and idiots... and it's actually kind of funny to read their logic, especially with friends around., but hey, at least I can pick Twitch ADC and punish them for 30 LP because I'm going to win my lane regardless of what you play. Then watch then complain how Twitch is OP and I only won because i'm lucky and/or their team sucks.
