People being boosted on stream

FortisDominus··303 votes·11,112 views

dekar is boosting people on his stream using dynamic queue. They pay him money and he boosts them. Is it cheating? nope, because its dynamic queue and he is just 'playing with friends'.

Do i hate him for this? nope. Why? because he is showing everyone that dynamic queue sucks dick by doing this and being so open about it.

Well he is not boosting. He is like Riot would put it making new friends and playing with them.

/sarcasm off

Dynamic queue has so much design flaws built into it it's not even funny. This whole season feels like Riot using the playerbase as testers in preparation for season 7.

Elikain13 votes

Before Dynamic Queue, playing with a friend was possible and considered as solo queue. Even then, this kind of behavior was possible and pinning this as a major flaw of Dynamic Queue is a pretty weak argument. No matter how you put this, if he is getting payed to boost them and this transaction is on the stream for all to see, it is considered as boosting and Riot will deal with the issue at hand. In this case, it is not "playing with friends".

he is showing everyone that dynamic queue sucks dick by doing this and being so open about it

So essentially, if there was a loophole where i could kill someone and never get convicted for it and i actually do it, i'd be hailed as a hero for pointing this out for everyone to see and start doing it?

What a hero, indeed. This action will get him and his buddies banned on the spot. Don't be one of those people who are willing to make bounds and leaps in order to get something they don't like, removed.

Retillin22 votes

How is he going to be banned? He's not breaking any of the UA (user agreement). They are paying to play with him. Don't people who give donations to QT/Trick2G/ect. also get this? Some even in ranked. Until Riot changes their UA to include this exact thing, it's kosher to do.

Elikain4 votes

You misunderstood OP's and mine comment. OP worded his like this guy was open about boosting people on stream for money and i merely said that if this was the case, he's going to get banned along with anyone who was boosted.

And if these were just subscriber donations or donations to get him to play rank with them, that's a completely different story.

Wimbledofy8 votes

Would you care to explain where you're getting the information that they would get banned? You aren't talking about mmr boosting that riot normally talks about right? Because that has to do with someone else playing on your own account in ranked (whether you win or lose), it has nothing to do with playing in a premade.

Azeranth6 votes

Boosting is a direct violation of the League code of conduct

Retillin17 votes

Correct, but playing with someone (old duoQ) was not counted as boosting. Just as the new DynamticQ is not counted as boosting. In order for Riot to punish someone for "boosting", the person being punished must not be playing their own account.

So let's say you and I are playing together. Even if you pay me money, if you use your account and I use mine (duo/dynamicQ) it is not "boosting". Boosting is sharing accounts. If you payed Faker 10k to play 20 ranked games with you, that's fine. You can not get into trouble for that. You would if Faker used YOUR account to solo climb. But as long as you are each playing your own account everything is legit.

Azeranth2 votes

No, boosting by carrying a player into the next rank is still boosting and is still against the League CoC

Bobloser355514 votes

Nope, you play under the rules of Riot. He claims he is boosting someone, Riot does not. If Riot would punish him for it, they would have to admit there is something wrong with their own system. Basically they would have to remove ranked dynamic queue.

Elikain3 votes

The definition of boosting can be expanded upon, if there's a specific system in place that allows you to boost players in other ways.

And no, i'm not saying that him getting payed by donors to play in their premades is considered as boosting. I merely made a comment to what OP posted, i did not watch the stream in question. I think OP knew this wasn't boosting but left it as it is to attract attention and i fell for it.

Well played, OP. Well played.

Wimbledofy3 votes

What the guy is doing on stream is definitely boosting, it just isn't the same kind of boosting that riot has defined. It isn't the kind of boosting that gets you banned. But pretty much playing with someone to get into a rank you don't belong in is considered boosting, it just isn't bannable.

OyddAWqJ5r3 votes

Remind me what it's called when someone causes you to jump ranks far faster than you ever could on your own?

I can't quite remember the term. Boot string? Bee sting? Boo King?

Oh wait no! Helping a total stranger out for monetary gain! That's right :) Totes not boosting.

I hate people who boost. Because then I get stuck with these diamond/plat players that go 1/13, never ward and just complain the entire game.

Until you realize you are that player that never wards... http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2155476050/41707294?tab=overview

You had a sight stone and got 15 wards placed by the 30 minute mark. Here is a similarily played game by me with no sightstone. 14 wards placed http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2156545847/33518097?tab=overview

Not to mention in any of your other games you are low on wards. Graggy- http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2155348839/41707294?tab=overview ziggs- http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2155472636/41707294?tab=overview

You are consistently low on wards in all games.

Even in your better warding games, the enemy is out warding you. #naut3morewards http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2144208040/41707294?tab=overview

and to top it off, for your play style, your warding is even considered low. http://chess.egg-one.com/lolprofiler/profile?summoner_id=ragaren&region=na

Since you obviously can't see the meaning behind the post and instead choose to nitpick, I'll explain it to you. If you're Zed with a score of 0/6 fighting a Morgana before the 10 min mark, you don't blame your jungler or call your team a bunch of idiots. You instead try to help them in any way possible, seeing as you can't deal damage or tank that leaves one option, to give your team vision and farm until you are strong enough to help.

No one likes dynamic queue because it allows players who don't have the skill to rise up way past their due rating. So instead of focusing on warding, how about you focus on the big picture?

Oh I saw the meaning, I just wanted to point out that your average kda, and warding isn't much better than what you are complaining about.

Umm, plats actually do this more than any other MMR I've been in.

People slipped through the cracks before, honestly, you can't carry everyone higher than gold. I even left one of my friends in silver.

So the way i understand this is, since he is a streamer, these people are "donating" to him and he is "out of the goodness of his heart" playing with them in ranked to "help" give them a better ranked experience.

Problem is that this is a way around the whole boosting thing. Boosting is when you, as the higher player, get someone elses account and play on their account (regardless of being payed) until that players account is a higher elo than it should be and then give the account back to the actual owner.

So what people like him are doing is working around that.

you sound salty bro. trust me, i rather pay for someone to boost me than to play with some kid who is going to afk or intentionally feed because he's on tilt from last game and me lose on purpose.

dynamic q is the best thing riot has done. at least you don't get to play with 3 other retards. you can invite your friends are just be 5 retards lol jk. but you get my point. i used to hate duo q and the enemy would pick on the retarded guy on my team that never listen to any advice and would you kept dying 1v3 every single time.

as for name shaming, downvote. i don't see how your post is not deleted. but oh my, if it was a random person saying xxfioramasterxx17 fed last game, his account would be perma ban and his post deleted.

Hello I am Bird6 votes

I mean, to be fair, he's not COMPLETELY wrong.

Dynamic queue is not the best thing that has ever come to league, but even as a 1 man squad, there will be generally less toxicity and raging because people are playing with their friends.

Guy 1 isn't gonna AFK because he's queued with Guy 2 and Grill Gamer 1 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Obviously Dynamic queue has a lot of problems, but it's not completely terrible.

CuteGuy6pack34 votes

Have you ever been a solo in a toxic 3-4 man premade? They basically bully you all game, tell the other team to report you, they all report you, they tell the other team you're saying things you aren't but it looks believable in numbers. Then you get 3-4 man reported + whatever enemies believe them, while they get 1-2 reports.

Premades is by far the worst thing to happen to ranked LoL.

This is partly why I mute my team 95% of the time. I turned off /all a longtime ago and am much happier because of that decision.

Boosting companies capable of boosting 5 accounts at the same time. Think of the money they making. 5 D1+ players showering in money playing on low elo accounts. GG RIOT.

Joe Dredd3 votes

Yea and I used to play with my friends on my smurf. IN OLD SOLO QUEUE. nothings changed

Llanite3 votes

If it's involved money, it's boosting and they will be banned.

It has nothing to do with dynamic queue. The same person could have done it under the old queue.

Senpai Stan3 votes

Even in solo que boosting existed . All the booster have to do is have a smurf and the person he's boosting. Solo que or dynamic que the issue of boosting still exist. My solution to this phenomenon is removing the ability to que with another person when it comes down to ranks. If an individual wants to play with their friends then go play blink pink. Rank is for people to test their own individual skill level and improving their mechanics. Dynamic is removing the aspect of individual play and stating a statement " I don't even have to be good at this game to reach diamond" .

Masochist2 votes

The great, vast majority of people aren't boosting though. So what's your issue? It's the same logic the anti-gun crowd tries to tout.

Can't punish everyone for the sake of the few.

More ppl than you think are getting in elos they don't deserve by just playing with friends.

Thats not intended boosting but they end up in a higher elo than they deserve anyway

thats actually a legit way to boost people , it doesnt break any rulles imagine my main account is like diamon 3 , and i play with friend or viewers on a smurf with their silver mmr , you understand the diam 3 will 1v9 and carry his premades . you can make them pay money if they want to get boosted or " carried for 20 games in a row " . in the end it is the same as elo boosting, people pay you to get free elo . but it doesnt break any rules because Dynamic q allows that .

The fact that this is 100% legal shows the problem with DQ

StealthWarden1 votes

Dynamic Q is absolute garbage for anyone that doesnt have a group. PERIOD.

Never before have i been ganked IN THE JUNGLE AS A JUNGLER. But with the help of 3-5 man squads in ranked....every single time i get spotted in river every person they have sprints over to scuttle and its a 3-4 man gank in the jungle.

And of course, my team isnt grouped and hasnt been playing together for months so when their lane goes mia for 3 seconds they just ping...no one is comming to help me.

Im not whining about there being amazing team play on the enemy team...im whining about playing alone against a group of people on Curse Voice coordinating strikes like seal team six Vs my team of complete strangers playing a literally different game "Solo Q".

MMR is no longer a sufficient stat to balance a match on. Teamwork and coordination have to be measured somehow. you cant be allowed to play alone vs a group of people that have been playing together for months or seasons even.

Even a team of complete solo can write in pregame lobby chate or at 00:XX seconds in game chatto agree on a lvl 1 invade, eh

Just saying

StealthWarden1 votes

im not talking about a level one invade... i mean when im spotted in the river or jungle both surrounding lanes roam to gank me every time, multiple times for the whole game. That doesnt occur normally in solo q, because it requires communication and coordination. Groups do this easily however, and its pretty oppressive.

This doesnt even begin to address the player synergy that a 3-4 man crew has. they know each other, they know what each expects the other to do in similar situations and they work well together without communicating at all...so when you add the ease of voice coms the team play is really smooth and cohesive. When randoms try to battle this, its pretty difficult to compete with.

So you are basically complaining that groups know how to play? Because uncoordinated solos with a grasp of the game could do this as well. And groups MMR if I remember is increased to compensate for the better comunication

When randoms try to battle this, its pretty difficult to compete with.

In S4, SHRC was a top 3 team in the world and got at Worlds Finals using only pings and simple English words like "go" Baron" Dragon" "Gank" "Blue" to communicate because they couldn't use effectively to communicate given the langauge barrier betwen the players - they had 3 Chinese and 2 Koreans that were playing jungle and support - . And they weren't vs a group of shitters, they were against the best team in the World with regular voice comms and such

Yeah, and SHRC was a group of 5 people fighting vs teams of their same elo while having lower comunications than them because of barrier languages they communicated with pings and few short words and had great in-game synergy

You are complaining that your enemies have bigger synergy, when they could just being playing better? And also, if you are playing against a lot of premades that goes 3-4 man gank, does not it means that you are often playing with premades too? And if not, it could JUST be that those guys are just solos with duos (like the old ranked system) that can JUST actually cooperate with theirselves?

StealthWarden1 votes

what about those 5 people play together all day every day for months / years makes them have better synergy and team work as PLAYERS (disregard champion select its irrelevant) ?

I cant tell if you are not reading it, dont understand the concept, or choosing to ignore it. In the end it doesnt matter as im over trying to discuss it with you.

you are often playing with premades too?

Thats the theory...but it isnt always true, at least from what i can gather from just asking the enemy and my team if they are grouped more than half my games are one sided as far as premades go one way or the other and its obnoxious being on either side of it.

If you are facing them after they have played together for months/years it means they are at your ELO, heck it would even mean they are worse individual players than you since they are given an higher MMR by the matchmaking system AND their win rate is (should be?) boosted by their synergy

It means your team should be able to CRUSH them in lane if you got a somewhat decent teamwork since your team has the superior individual players

Or is this wrong?

Thats the theory...but it isnt always true, at least from what i can gather from just asking the enemy and my team if they are grouped more than half my games are one sided as far as premades go one way or the other and its obnoxious being on either side of it.

But still you have not said how often this is happening, the playing with 3+ premade people if you are not in a premade yourself I don't even question these games could end up being one sided, but that isn't even the question. The question is if the system allow people to play on equal ground. If people play on equal ground, that the result does not even matter. if people can't play on equal ground, the system MUST be changed The problem is that you talk about game results rather than the equity of the system, which, again is the core question

StealthWarden1 votes

the actual problem is the original post....high ranked players on smurf accounts getting with their other high ranked buddies on their smurfs smashing people trying to learn the game.

The system allows and encourages this.

So what do you think..should it be changed or do you have a smurf account and are making some sweet bank so you have to argue?

As long as you can queue with at least 1 person, and in the old system there was the option to go duo queue, smurfing will be possible

In the original post the guy assumed that it was because of DQ, and nope, even on old queue you could do the same by going duo queue - and in the original post the guy made also accusation that is not really proving as someone else was posting the streamer account match history and pointed out like the guy was playing max 2-3 game with the same people, which can be barely considered boosting since the max you can get from 3 game is win a promotion series to go 1 division up? -

And I actually doubt that if multiple high ranked player play together they are not going to rank up so fast that the problem becomes negligible in the way you are painting it...

The real problem are the guys paying other guy to play with them to really get boosted (and it takes more than 3 games, really), which are fairly difficult to catch because it requires a lot of time to do the proper investigation to ban them and it seems clear that Riot doesn't have or isn't putting enough resources in to catch most of them

And how this is exactly different from old duo Q system?

Following your reasoning, basically everything that isn't pure Solo Q is a clown fiesta...except that

  • I didn't saw the complains on the old system using these argumentations

  • LoL is still supposed to be a team game, so play alone shouldn't be defined as the only true option that is not "a clown fiesta"

My answer to pretty much everything you just said is this.

THERE IS NOW MORE THAN ONE SMURF ON THEIR TEAM

anything else i can help you with?

StealthWarden1 votes

well i think were done here...i cant take one more argument from you based on the word

"SHOULD"

What is supposed to happen, and what happens are very different.

And even if the account has worse statistics...that under no circumstances means the original owner is behind the wheel....or that those statistics are accurate. It could and is at times someones 13th smurf that has been neglected...the account has mmr where it should be maybe...but the player at the other end is far more skilled than the account would suggest.

Furthermore...just about every person that fancies themselves a youtuber or streamer does these unranked to diamond series to show off...and they all start in silver.

If you are going to bother to reply at all..refrain from using the word "should" or any other synonymous phrases that imply "probability" and assume that Riots implementation of anything ever was done right, because thats a waste of my time.

Only Play Darius2 votes

Junglers have it the hardest with this DQ shit, made me quit my main role. Can't get a leash without getting 4 man invaded, no turrets or minions to hide behind, Riot removed green wards so you can't ward your own jungle by yourself. Forget even trying to solo dragon, I hardly make the call anymore because it's always 5 enemies showing up before I even get it to half HP.

Seeing as Riot would rather attack the symptoms than the root of the problem (we all know DQ is here to stay) I propose jg camps automatically attack and do double damage to champs without smite so premades think twice before walking around in the enemy jungle
