why do people think tanks are weak right now?
<------ all these tanks are doing fine right now
<------ all these tanks are doing fine right now
I think it's less of an issue of power level and more an issue of how tanks feel.
Sure, having CC and the ability to survive up-front burst and all that utility is really powerful.
But when you're jumped by a Yi and die in 3 seconds despite building all that hp and armor, it makes you feel really powerless.
When tanks are strong, oftentimes they're not strong for the reason a lot of people play them for.
When you get killed by a tank in 3 seconds, who only builds HP and armor it makes you feel really powerless too.
Maybe base stats should be nerfed and items buffed so that you get really tanky, but without having any damage
This was fake even in Cinderhulk meta. Often people said ''a FULL TANK ONESHOTED ME!!!'' when it was a tank building AP like
, which is, obviously, not a tank.
Mundo isnt a tank either, btw, just an HP bruiser, and Mundo si the only one I can think of that can build pure HP and present a threat.
chunks pretty fucking hard right now
Of course Malphite deals a lot of damage right now when everyone is letting him build full Armor by picking 3 adc 1 AD mid comps.
The moment more AP comes back to the game, Malphite is forced to build MR, effectively reducing his damage.
One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong!
yet, it does. 30 armor and mr that stacks upto 4 times
Only if he dashes if I remember correctly.
He has to dash and then continuously auto champions, but yeah, 120 armor and Mr for free.
It used to be automatically active when in combat.
Yeah, but it was also a lot weaker back then. I think only 60 at max.
Was it? I never noticed.
Yeah at 10 stacks it was either 30 or 60.
Just checked, it was originally 40 but then got nerfed to 30. So yeah, insanely weak compared to now.
It was 30 at max lvl at max stacks
With the exception of Graves, you actually managed to list nothing but tanks.
There is not a single fighter or juggernaut in that list.
I'm. So. Happy.
the graves one was a joke because graves is tanky af LOL
you forgot these
You could call Shen a fighter/bruiser
most tanks are secondary fighter
Shen is a tank. Whoever builds BC or Triforce on him, line up so I can slap your shit.
B..But... Juggernauts...
Dude wtf?!
Shen isn't a tank anymore.
He's cookiecutter Q-3AA bruiser/fighter/wtf support champion now. Fix that, please.
Because Malphite and Rammus are designed to counter adc's
Amumu is not doing that great, but is just a dominant low elo pick, he's always ''ok''
Alistar has a 70% damage reduction ultimate so he won't get melted, he's usually played as a supp anyway
Shen has his W (But after the W runs out he feels like he is made of Paper against an adc with
)
Nautilus... idk what's up with him, I guess he has enough lockdown for his team to kill the adc before he melts Naut... The fact that he does well in toplane might also play a role, because it'll take a while before he'll interact with the adc
I guess you are not picking Gragas for surviving, you are picking him for his solid ganks (Now with an OK jungle clear) and ultimate...
![]()
the adc tank dps explosion mage assasin fuker.
With a mini knockback because he needed some Support Utility
Naut's doing well because he ALLOWS otherwise minimal-CC teams to work, because he's a one-man wombo. Alistar's... Really never weak, same for Amumu. Shen is more of a... Brawler, in a sense. Malphite counters heavy-AD, as does Rammus. Gragas... Is he even a tank right now? And Graves is a joke so yeah.
Building one damage item doesnt make you not a tank..
is strong because of his cc and the fact he is so tanky that he counters basically any carry laner, which are the meta right now.
is just the dumbest champion concept i have seen since 5.16 Mordekaiser.
I think it's more because in the past a tank could still be a tank even if you were losing hard. Now, a tank will get 360 no-scope rekt immediately if the enemy starts to snowball a bit.
I say this from experience, my main supp is Naut and when the game is even or we're ahead, he's an amazing tank. When we're just a little bit behind, my HP melts even with 2 shields from just 1 enemy.
Well the problem most player have with Tanks is the fact... they are no TANKS! x'D
In current League a Tank dies super fast compared to other games. OFC that does not make them UP. Instead of soaking DMG League-Tanks deal riddiculous amounts of DMG.
Some people, especially those who are used to play Tanks in other games as well, complain about this. And they do have their point.
With everything in League is build around DMG, this stat becomes quiet oppressive and boring. To quote FalconPawwwwnch (NA)
Damage has never been higher than it is atm
In season 2 if you were a normal melee champion you could survive teamfights for a decent amount of time building standard items like phage/wit's end/wriggles etc
Now you need to be a full melee tank with multiple steroids to survive adcs and assassins
It's absurd really
I have the same problem right now.
because building defense on tanks doesnt seem as significane as on assasins now.
Well every champ/role are in a good spot except a few who need buffing. And there's a low amount of champs who actually need nerfing, it started off rocky but it's a good meta again.
3 adc per team is a good meta ?
Assassins, Mages, Tanks, Bruisers, Supports all have a heavy presence due to adcs being heavily prevalent.
I've seen a more wide array of champions used this meta then maybe even the tank meta where each can actually perform well, aside from the weaker champs who need buffing.
Not saying that there's still isn't some more changes that are needed but it's a good meta.
Your post made literally no sense. "Because ADCs are more prevelant, other roles are more prevelant"? That's literally impossble. Tbh, mages are getting crowded out by AD counterparts, supports that are poke-oriented are far less viable than utilty/tanky ones, jungler diversity sucks pretty darn bad, top lane is full of really overtuned champs which crowds out pretty much everyone else, and the only assassins who are strong are Zed and Talon: statistically, the rest of them suck, including the oft-complained about leblanc. I think balance is pretty bad atm.
This shit is a myth please use some evidence 2 adc per team isn't rare, but 3 is statistically an outlier by current pick rates. It's hardly meta.

mid
any adc
a support
is it truly not the meta ? happens way too often to not be the meta man

I'd say the meta is going downward right now, not getting better.
ADCs in 4 of 5 roles regularly (not always in the same game of course). That sounds good, but they are pushing other people out just like Annie and Fiddle were pushing out actual supports a while back.
Balance is so dependant on items now instead of champ balance it is just dumb.
If you can't split push or stop someone from split pushing as a top, you might as well not play them because you will do bad unless your lane opponent is a lot worse skill wise.
This is far from a "good meta again" right now lol unless you play nothing but adcs and Fiora

I've seen far less variety in champs so far this season. Sure you see the occasional random champ, but I rarely see them fair very well, that is just the way solo queue goes. As far as pro play, where the meta is fully realized, it is a boring mess of the same champs every game. The only time there is any variety is very niche pocket picks from specific junglers usually, or when the every game picked champs are banned out.
I'm not sure how you see that as good.
God I miss the first half of season five... Urgot mid, TF jungle, Gnar jungle, support Nautilus, Yorick... there were so many unique picks then.

Exactly this. Last season there was a lot more experimentation and trying more picks. This season teams are AFRAID to do that one stage because (mostly) these ridiculous death timers. You can't afford not to go "op or nothing" in games that matter, because one lost team fight at 20 minutes means at least a tower and dragon lost.
A lost team fight past 25 minutes can mean lost baron, 2 towers, and if you lost 3+ people, the game is over. It is stagnating the meta because there isn't near as much room to sneak in those pocket picks unless you are just that much better than your opponents on stage. It has made pro games pretty boring to watch comparatively speaking.
Someone is always getting pushed out based upon the demands of the current meta.
Just gonna point that out.

Oh, so you find it healthy that one area of a role (marksman) are pushing out entire other roles? Sure the meta is fluid, and that is good, but it is never good when the strongest jungler is still Graves, with Gragas just now coming back. Quinn is still one of the most played top laners. Corki is by far the most played and highest win rate mid laner (in pro and otherwise).
That seems like a healthy and good meta to me /s
Idk I have 30 different mains all of which are very viable atm, while all roles being viable and having an effect on the game.
People complaining about stuff feel like they're just on tilt tbh.
Yes, there are still a few changes needed and there are a few weak(aside from those gutted by rito or planned reworks) champions that need buffing but majority of the game is a good meta where most of the roster is usable.
Idk I have 30 different mains
then you dont have a main
I do. Just because It's not one doesn't mean they aren't my mains. Don't like playing any other champ but those, I can rely on them even if nerfed and love when they get buffed because someone feels they're "weak". 4-5 of my favorite champs per role since I took the time to try every champ over these 6 years.
That's called one's champion pool, not their mains.
