I'm one of those people who constantly ward, and call for others to ward more. I'm a support main, typically have 10 - 20 more wards then the enemy team, even if they're completely destroying us...it's just too essential to NOT do. Two things in my eyes are key components towards having the best possible chance of winning, 1.) Vision control for map awareness and understanding the enemy team's movements and priorities, and 2.) Team communication. Yes it sucks if you're being neglected in ANY lane, it's possible, even for bot to be continuously dove by 3, 4, 5 people, only to lose turret and dragon control, then when they rotate to top and mid the infamous "wow bot what are you doing, your laners are pushing mid and top, you know..the only two objectives left!' remarks.
Fact of the matter is, Riot failed miserably with the warding and vision control changes. If you're behind, even if ONE teammate refuses to help with vision, it puts you at an almost insurmountable disadvantage. They failed, but that doesn't excuse you of not trying. Even if you're so far behind you're essentially cannon fodder, you can still at least be useful in this regard, communication and vision.
When I top in ranked, keep in mind I'm absolute trash at anything but support, and have been working hard to try and become a useful laner, I go with the sole goal of not feeding...nothing more. I buy a pink, put it somewhere useful....tribush if it's available, or the bush next to tower and gromp if I'm on blue side or near baron bush. Then as soon as I'm level 9, I discard that worthless yellow trinket that only serves to bait most people into over extending into fog, and getting picked off. I get that blue trinket, and ANY time it's off CD I pop a ward down...somewhere it'd be useful...Along the 3 bushes in top lane, to prevent bush ganks, around our jungle, behind baron, etc. Before we as a team realize, I have 3 - 6 blue trinket wards down, and a pink, and that's how it goes every game. It's not impossible....and yes it's BEYOND helpful when the jungler helps, or other teammates...that's where communication comes in. It's a sad fact that teamwork won't always be possible, so it's best for you to depend on yourself...make it your goal to stay alive, and that's where warding comes in.
Hope your luck in games improve and you get more cooperative teammates, and find yourself enjoying the games more, until then...KEEP WARDING!
