It's childish and not needed in the community. That nerf was definitely needed because she was breaking the game hitting people at level 3 with an ability that could deal 80 damage and blow even the tankiest characters up with that extra empowered auto attack. It's a surprise the damage was only cut in half to 40 and not reduced to 8 or 9 damage.

That would be way to underpowered, and kill all Shyvana players. Twin Bite is really her main damage skill.
