Does it still work well? She's got tons of cc, burst and sustained damage. Plus while top lacking all in with her ult isn't a big problem, unless you're against

CrimsonDawn771 votesApparently ya, it was. Same for Cassiopeia top. Maybe it's just she was strong with the buffs she got, plus mage items are strong, and she's good against tanks while we're in a tank meta.

Will doing this be kind of niche and feast or famine like playing other champs out of their lane? (such as Garen adc, Jhin mid, Morg top) I like Taliyah and really want a top mage but I'm wondering if it's worth putting the time into getting very good with Taliyah mechanics and her in this role to the point where she could be my secondary pick for top.
Who is Taliyah1 votesTaliyah is not the strongest mage to be played tanky though. You might want to consider Lissandra, Rumble or Kennen, because these are usually tankier and do a better job at it than Taliyah.

If it comes down to that, every champ is viable enough, if you are dedicated enough. Put enough effort into any champ and it will pay off. Yes, Taliyah can be constistently good.

Taliyah has better chances on midlane. Toplane are mostly bruiser and juggernauts. She would need to rush rylais to be able to kite. She will die whenever someone gets close to her. Midlane are squishies, she is very good early game, deals lot of damage in early, which is why midlane is the best lane for her.
