I understand Prestige Kai'sa should be difficult to get but I think this might be excessive

To start off, it's important to understand that I'm a college student. This is important so you understand that I have a good deal of free time but I also have much better things I should be doing with that time.

Anyway, in this limited time, I like to play a good bit of League. I decided to buy the world pass because I like Kai'sa and I like the skin. The problem is that the world's pass is both trying to hype up worlds AND get you grinding games. I think another post showed you need to average like 4 games a day and do all the missions to be able to get the skin. At a rate of 40 minutes a game that's almost 3 hours a day just playing League. And I'm in an elo that knows how to end games lower elos it can go up to 4 hours.

And to top that off, I'm really enjoying the creativity and hype coming from this year's worlds. This is actually a really good season for competitive play and I want to get into it.

The problem is because of my schedule, I can't do both. I can barely grind out the games. So, because I really want the skin, I'm just going to have to skip most of worlds, which is the opposite of what Riot wants for viewership. I think a bunch of other people will do the same and honestly I feel like that completely defeats the purpose of the worlds pass. I really wanna get excited over worlds but I and other people with real world responsibilities will end up having to choose between the two instead of enjoying them both and that sucks.

EDIT: for clarification, I don't want the grind to be easier for the sake of it being easier. I want it to be easier so that me and anyone else who was real responsibilities doesn't have to choose between watching worlds or playing games.

pretty much anyone who gets skin cant have a job/go to school/have any type of daily reoccurring responsibilities.

The amount of jealousy detected in your post is insane.

I have college classes every single day with a job in between and currently have 1993 worlds tokens. Blame your own laziness for not being able to get it.

Or...... you can BUY it. Not that hard.

Skins are just cosmetics, who cares.

That's the thing though. It's supposed to be a very exclusive skin. Making it easier to get would make it alot less exclusive.

Except you can buy it.

There's a thing between making something exclusive and tough to get, like the Ziggs Odyssey skin shard, the Gold Lizard Ward skin, and the Odyssey Orb - they were HARD AS BALLS to get, and they were moderately exclusive if you managed to grab them. Then there's this skin, which if you DO have a life, you're going to be spending your evenings and weekends trying to grind as fast as possible to get the coin you need, and it's just too fucking much. There's NO way to earn more tokens (like teaming up with friends, etc) and unless you're landing S ranks on SR all the time, your gains are going to be sluggish. That's just for the Kai'Sa skin too - that's not even factoring in anything else you'd be interested in getting, like a gold chroma, ward skins, or emotes. Overall, the payout is simply unfeasibly low for what you need to buy, and it takes what should be fun and turns into a horrible grind.

Don't give them the bright idea to grant bonus currency from grouping. Thanks ^^

I don't mean just from grouping. I mean on top of the gains we get. They've done it in the past with IP Weekends where your IP gains were multiplied by how many other teammates you had, so it's not a foreign concept. Something like 4 tokens for running a duo, 6 for a trio, 8 for a quad, and 10 for a 5 man. This on top of what we get per match and our grade in that match.

Dude..... World Pass = 200 World tokens and unlimited tokes gained from games played depending on your performance.

Each 25 pack of Worlds Orbs = 500 tokens.

Not that hard to get if you don't want to grind it.

I got some 800 tokens in snooze grind playing ranked. Bought 3 25 packs. Done.

Oh yes, silly me. I don't need to grind the skin out at all when I could just shell out $150 on the game.

Man I wish I was privileged enough to grind out 4,000 games a season and buy $150 worth of crap. I guess the grind is pretty easy when daddy subsidizes your lifestyle xd

LOL well good for you... SOME of us don't live in an area like that.

its 2k a month for a to rent a freaking studio apartment were i live.

even the cheap houses here are well over a million.

the price of this area skyrocketed by over 450% since my parents bought the house. which is now worth around 1.7 mill when my parents payed about 400k for it 22 years ago

i dont even play kai'sa.. or want this skin... but what u suggest is absurd.

i work could 40 hours a week at a $20 and hour job and still not even afford to move out of my parents house. let alone have money left over to waste it on this shit.

you assume since you can easily make enough money to live in your area and have money to throw away that we all can.

u dont even consider that the price of living in your aera.. might be SLIGHTLY FUCKING CHEAPER than other people.

the SF bay area isn't cheap.

If you are living in a region where asset inflation is that high, wages there also generally match it. I'm willing to bet a $20/Hour job in that area is a low end job.

Me..... we're lucky to have three employers in our area: Hospitals, Schools, and Factories. That's it. We earn half the national median wage.

You..... even your low tier jobs likely pay $50k+

P.S. I've lived in Chicago. I also have a degree in economics. I know how wages generally match asset growth. You could always work in the high end parts of SF, and live in the suburbs, and commute. You're basically arguing you can't do that.

Also, if that's the rate of wages/assets in the area, your access to RP should be far more than mine, given that your discretionary spending goes further vs nonlocal goods.

In 2004 I lived in a Studio Apartment in Wrightwood, Chicago, for about $760/month. My cousin married a detective in Cicero Chicago, and they bought a $340k House. They easily could have worked downtown Chicago, made good wages, and lived where they lived.

What if I told you my son, August, is highly functioning Autistic, 3 3/4 years old, and my dreams of stimulating a super genius are all but dashed, but I would never give up the son I have, for that opportunity?

He's real. He's my bub. And he's still going to be amazing. Just in a different way.

(If worst comes to worse, I stand to inherit about 1000 acres of farmland, so if Auggie can't expand outside our family in socializing..... he has that to fall back on for an income)

Also, I don't care about getting called out. That just makes you/whoever little for not taking people on their face.
