the harder you climb, the worse your teammates get.

Isnt it odd that as you hit winstreaks you get bombarded with bad teammates vs good opponents? shouldnt you be matched with better teammates vs better opponents? why is it that the system FORCES you to 1v5 carry in a team game in order to climb? i honestly dont get it riot. can someone in charge of MMing atleast comment on why this system is so god awful?

Not forcing, just luck. Probability sucks.

I said this in another thread, "It's been confirmed, Riot automatically groups players with winning streaks with players on losing streaks".

OMG this is so true.

I've actually began to look closely at how each game goes to see if there's a pattern. I've noticed over the course of several weeks, a very interesting pattern.

Let's say I'm in Bronze 2. It goes kinda up and down, then I'll hit B1 promos. If I win the promos, the games following immediately, I'll be matched with actual garbage team mates. I'm talking guys that feed double kills by the minute. I'll get about 3 of these games in a row, eventually, I'll win one or two, which means I will no longer have demotion immunity. Then I will continually get the worst team mates imaginable until I'm demoted. After demotion, I start getting normal team mates again, sometimes after one more round of garbage. Then the process repeats itself about 4 to 5 times until it lets you climb by giving you decent team mates. And at the next division, it starts all over again. Since I've observed it, I've yet to see the match maker deviate from this pattern.

I have a theory that this is deliberate and it's meant to artificially make climbing harder so that we spend more time trying hence more time playing, buying skins etc. Riot is a business after all, and players spending more time playing is more profitable. If the game is too easy, it will get stale and people will stop playing. Difficult games hook people.

If you think this is crazy, remember that Riot has data on even the tiniest details like how many times you used a spell with a certain champion or how many times you got first blood this season. A relatively simple heuristic algorithm executed against this highly detailed data source could easily determine if a player is likely to feed and the match maker could use this to match you with garbage team mates when it wants to give you losses or it could match you with decent folk when it wants you to have a chance at winning. I'm 95% convinced I'm right.
