EDIT: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. This thread was not intended to start a religious flamewar, it was intended to bring absurd toxicity to the attention of Riot, especially in lower elos. That being said, please leave a response on your thoughts of this situation if you see this, just to keep the thread on at least the "Hot" subboard until a Rioter responds.

I felt like sharing this with my beloved League community, especially considering the magnitude of toxicity I've been faced with lately in my ranked games. I'll just start right in and copy some of the convo I screenshotted. (Ahri was duo'd with ez I think and chogath was 0/2/5).

Ezreal continued giving out where chogath was, chogath kept getting picked off, and we eventually lost what was a sure win solely because of an immature player.

He cusses everyone out in the end game lobby and is raging super hard.

I really don't understand weather this Ezreal was trolling or what, but I just don't understand why he think's he's far superior to every other human just because he has a different belief system than other people. I've sent a support ticket to riot about this containing every screenshot from the game. I seriously hope something is done to filter this toxic player out of League of Legends.

I hate that people have the opinion to believe in nothing , and harass people who chose to believe in God, Buddha, Santa Clause, Kevin Hart, Alternate Dimensions, Aliens, etc. It really makes me mad to have to have someone say "stop cramming this down my throat" when all they have to do, really, is stare and move on.

It's kind of ironic though. If I said anything about god not existing I would get lots of Christian people getting angry at me. They don't really just stare and move on. It's not about religion or the lack of one, it's about the invidual and how they can stand people talking about things they don't believe in.

For me, it depends on the context. If you are sitting next to me in a café and shout in a loud voice "GOD DOESN'T EXIST!" I will stare at you like the crazy person you'd appear to be. If you were a close personal friend and you told me that God doesn't exist, I might try to have a conversation with you about why you believe that what you do and why I believe what I do (and if your responses are "HURRDURR FACTS! SCIENCE! EVOLUTION! ONLY STUPID PEOPLE ARE RELIGIOUS!" and you shout that at me for hours, my responses might get less personable). However, YOU would have to bring up the conversation, because I do not talk about my faith much. Also, of all the internet trolls and flamewars about whether God exists or not....most of the threads are started by anti-theists who want to try and prove religious people are wrong and to make fun of their "stupid" responses. Most of the threads started by people of faith say something like "I believe God exists and am proud of it." Somehow, this simple, personal, declaration of faith always gets some bitter anti-theist to spew hate and vitriol about how God doesn't exist. However, the anti-theists posts always have the blanket state "GOD DOES NOT EXIST!" It isn't presented as opinion, it isn't presented as belief, it's presented as hard facts when, by definition, God's existence is unable to be proven. This is why we rely on faith.

You have that on either end of the spectrum to be honest. I have also seen atheists start a thread and have religious people jump all over them. On either side there is stupid people, but your beliefs have absolutely no bearing on your intelligence as we have no objective way to find out the truth until we meet our inevitable end. Until then everything is just speculation and therefore we should respect each other for our ideas and not attack the person behind the ideas. God is unable to be proven or disproven, which is why I choose not to dedicate my life to an idea that may or may not exist. I choose to live my live with respect to the forces of nature that do have an immediate, visible effect on my life (the sun, the ocean, the atmosphere, etc.), and also with respect my fellow humans who all have their own unique ways of living. TL;DR Stupid people are stupid no matter what their belief system is

Honestly, no I wouldn't care if you said that. But if you started doing what that Ez did, I'd want to kick your teeth in. Slight difference. Stating what you believe or don't believe is fine. But skipping that and going straight to verbal abuse and trolling is not fine, it's not fine in the least. It's highly toxic and I honestly hope both that Ez and Ahri get Permabanned soon for their actions.

Now Im not a religious person either, but im certainly not anti-religion. Atheists like these that act as extreme, superior and intolerant of the religions they despise are ironically equally as bad as the religious people that act in that way. Except this cho'gath was in no way exhibiting such a complex that in any way warranted this kind of bashing.

People like Ez and Ahri act like religious people have a problem when the only people that seemed to have had a problem there was them.

As a son of a preacher, a grandson of a preacher, a great-grandson of a preacher, and a great-great grandson of a preacher who grew up hearing preachers and their preacher friends talk and is currently attending a Catholic College...I do not remember any point in my life where I knew someone who was religious who would have this kind of reaction. My preacher father also came up with this theory...there are atheists and then there are anti-theists. Atheists are people who have personally chosen, for whatever reason, to not believe in any sort of higher being. Anti-theists also do not believe in any higher being, but they to try and "prove" how everyone who does believe in a God (That's several billion people) is stupid and somehow they are the only perfect beings on the planet. They also claim religious people are intolerant and then become the most intolerant person you'll ever meet. Seriously, some of these anti-theists have more in common with the Spanish Inquisition than the modern Spanish Catholic.

This reminds me of when a another guy ( co-incidentally playing Ezreal), continued to blame his support for taking kills and then LITERALLY roamed the whole map taking jungle camps cuz "his support took his gold from kills"

I swear man, it's like Ezreal attracts 10-year old brats to play him or something...

Four abilities that deal straight damage with (for low ELO players) relatively little else to offer. It's like a litmus test for noobs. Even when you hit higher levels and start mastering his blink and using W for more than harassing, he still does little more than straight damage. There's no team interaction and his ult encourages kill-stealing. It's why I hate Ezreal; not because he's unbalanced, but because his very kit attracts people who don't want to function as part of a team.

  1. Following that logic, anyone who believes in anything not backed up by 100% solid scientific evidence is insane. You can't prove love exists - Therefor anyone who believes in love is insane. That's basically what you're saying.

  2. Opposing someone's beliefs yields no rhyme or reason to be on your high horse acting better than them.

  3. Bashing someone's beliefs when 90% of religious people keep to themselves is making you just as bad as the 10% who don't.

  4. You're basically saying if someone is religious, they are insane and deserve to be bullied and verbally hazed by those who have different opinions.

  5. I'm religious, and my ability respond to your claims in a calm and professional manner proves that your claim was false.

You can only control what YOU respond to and contribute. Lastly, all discussion and votes on the thread as a whole contribute to it remaining popular and high on the list of threads.

Sir, with all due respect, I'm not trying to tell you what to post and what not to post. I'm just kindly asking that you focus on the matter of this thread. Responding to people's comments about their religion will get you nowhere, and it does nothing for nobody.

We're both intelligent human beings, I'm sure we can both agree to disagree on these topics, whilst both still agreeing that the toxicity from these players was completely uncalled for.
