is mundo impossible to balance

i'm not sure how much the buffs will do but i hear people just saying mundo is nothing more then a big ball of stats, if they continue to buff him then he'll become unbalanced and if they don't then he remains weak. do you think mundo needs a rework of sort

LoL. every champion is a big ball of stats. It's a poor description. He scales off of nothing but hp (efficiently).

I dunno but Mundo is always on the border of "impossible to kill" and "does too much damage."

These buffs kinda scare me with all the new health items.

Riot is still making champions that are balls of stats. Only difference is that they have a ton of mobility, plus more damage/utility than some of the older ones. No, I do not think Mundo needs a rework. He has a unique playstyle, incredible build-pathing, and objective control that's only matched by a couple champions. The only time that Mundo gets out of hand is when defensive scaling is actually decent and the game goes on too long.

There are far worse offenders in the roster if you want to talk about being impossible to balance. In fact, there are quite a few of them.

I think he's currently very balanced. He has a few hard match-ups in lane, and there's always Morellonomicon and ignite. If the other side only has manaless AP and no one took ignite, make sure your laugh is bound to a convenient hotkey. His late game is terrifying with the right builds, but he's still susceptible to knock-backs (kiting is hard with his W's tenacity and merc treads, along with infected cleavers) and being bursted down by having the team collapse on him.

The right knock-back, especially through walls that have a long way around, can cost you and your team dearly, so be careful of positioning. If they try to ignore you and go for your back line while saving you for last, build more damage and make their carries pay. If you have good skill-shot accuracy, he's in a wonderful place right now as you will wreck team fights and split pushes. If you can't land his Q very reliably, he's not worth playing.

I don't see him as a mere ball of stats, you have to know how to use him to disrupt formations and create chaos, and it's not just running straight at their ADC. You should be trying to get a Q onto everyone at least 1x at the beginning of the fight unless you're certain you can get a kill or zone half the team by yourself. He has very poor ratios on his abilities, and the only MPen item that gives health is Liandry's which has 80AP which is almost wasted (like an extra 12dps on his W at max rank, that's it). You have to get the right mix of HP and resistances to get the most effective HP which I see a lot of people ignoring. Sated Devourer and BoRK shred those pure hp builds.

I think there are far worse balance issues in the game at the moment, like Garen and Veigar, though Mundo's a nice way to plow through Veigar's cc with his 42% tenacity and high MR in most builds.

Most of his ratios, as 360D3GR3SS said, do scale off of his HP (max or missing), his only non HP ration is the very tiny AP ratio on his W. Penetration, CDR, AS, etc. are all better on him than AP even though he mostly does magic damage. He's easy to play decently, hard to play extremely well. You HAVE to know how much you can tank before hitting R and that they can't blow you up on the spot once they do, which is hard to do in team fights. You have to know which bursty enemy abilities are up, if they have ignite ready, who has it, blah blah blah because good teams will pop you quickly at the start of the fight rather than ignore you and save you for last in conventional team fights. Chaotic fights are your friend, just make sure they can't get their carries to yours.

Any new buffs to him probably would make him absolutely broken though, especially late game, though for some reason his late game win ration is terrible at the moment. I think it's due to a lot of players that don't know how to close or split push too much with TP down, or not TPing in at the start of the fight. I know I've done it, and I make a point now to ask my teams to ping assist if they think they'll need me while constantly checking the map. I think if they do buff him it'll be to compensate for bad play, which happens often, and usually does break the champ.
