why does Pyke have the highest base armor and magic resistance in the game?

He's meant to be a high risk/reward champion especially since he cannot gain health from items, but this is more of a false lead since he has the highest base armor and magic resist in the game.

Pyke starts the game with the 4th highest base armor (45) and has the highest scaling armor per level (5) meaning that he ends the game with 130 armor, 15 higher than Braum. Pyke also starts with 32 MR, 0.1 lower than 90% of the melee roster, but has 2MR/lvl scaling while every other melee champ has 1.25MR/lvl. Wait, Sej only has 0.75MR/lvl because Riot hates her. And Graves has 1MR/lvl when every other ranged champ has 0.5 because Riot loves him.

Riot why does an AD assassin who is meant to remain squishy have higher base effective health than most of the tanks in the games roster????

Because he's a melee support that has to go in to do anything and can't build any bonus health.

Also, Sejuani has low base resistances because she gets a massive amount from her passive. Graves has higher compared to other ranged champs because he has a such low range and functions closer to a bruiser champion (like Urgot)

Because he can’t build health so his only defensive option is resistances?

Shouldn't he be forced to build them, then, rather than get them as base scaling? He has nearly the most base HP in the game.

Then his early laning (which is arguably the most important time for an assassin) would be shit since he’d be a Melee Support with no durability.

Even Rakan has a shield with all of his mobility.

Given how fast I saw him get totally blown up in worlds yesterday, I'd say they could even up it a little bit.
