Yasuo is honestly just really fun to play, it's very satisfying to do well with him and you feel like an absolute boss.
That said, people refuse to acknowledge that he's actually a very high skill champion. The vast majority of Yasuo's I encounter lose lane and don't do terribly well whilst not contributing much to their respective teams, and I see far more who are absolute 100% dead weight than the omfg-the-carry-is-real Godmode Yasuo players.
What I tend to notice is that people just rage at him for being broken either way. They always associate Yasuo going 0/6/2 with half the CS of his enemy laner with the Yasuo player just being mentally lacking, not attributing it to any noticeable skill on the opposing player's part.. And when the Yasuo wins, well. They tend to just blame it on him being stupidly broken. It's a viscous cycle where people simply write off the majority of the Yasuo players they encounter (the below average / bad) ones as being the rarity, whilst up-playing the once-in-25-games godly ones as what they face every single time, and get mad about it.
More than anything though, I just see people play like absolute retards against him and then blame it on the champion. Doing a trade which gets him and themselves low, then waiting 30 seconds (so he has his wall and shield back up) before they try to all in. Attempting to run away from him.. And running straight down lane through an advancing conveyer belt of creeps so he easily closes in for the kill, when simply running -out- of lane and into the jungle / down river would have gotten them away from him. Playing like terrified pussy cats who never pop his shield, then bemoan how he wins every trade. Easily telegraphing their projectile CC and giving him easy windwall opportunities. I see people do this crap all the time, then bitch and moan about how broken Yasuo is without looking to their own play.
Personally I never really have a problem about Yasuo, and when I do I find that it's easy (easier than usual at least) to pinpoint exactly what I did wrong and how he outplayed me. Some of this has to do with my champion pool (I loved darius pre rework, have played AP cho since season 2, Swain and Malz have been by favorite mages since s2, I prefer bruiser / tank junglers) but that's far from exclusively it. Even when I'm playing something very vulnerable to him, I'm still able to reliably break even or at least not feed by virtue of understanding his play patterns and working around them; and that's whilst being out of my comfort zone.
At the end of the day, Yasuo is not anywhere near as strong as Fizz, Akali, Xin or Shyvana from ages past. He's scary as fuck if he gets ahead, but he isn't born ahead and has to depend far more on enemy mistakes to get there than many of the OP champs of ages past.
