Turret plating is a monumental failure. Games are decided earlier, but forced to play out longer.

What!? Adding more early game income makes games snowball out of control faster!? Who could have possibly seen this coming?

The team with the early advantage cashes out on turret plating, and then once plating drops, they cash out a second time on the actual turrets. All while giving the illusion that your team isn't losing, because hey, your turrets are still up and it isn't obvious that the enemy team is up thousands of gold when you check the scoreboard!

Unless the game is even until plating falls off (which virtually never happens), the winning team is just getting double gold in the long term and a more consistent power incline prior to the first turret falling, making it much easier to maintain and snowball off of any advantage.

This is probably one of, if not the, worst changes made to League.

Riot: "but laning phase last twice as long!"

Me: "and the fucking irelia and jungler kills me twice as much longer. Longer laning phase is just a metaphor for longer in the closest with the school bullies"

There's no comeback potential if the laners shits on you to begin with..

That’s literally the opposite of what statistics are showing.

There are no statistics that support this, unless you're possibly looking at Silver games, in which case lmao.

It might have the intended effect in low elo, because plating 'hides' information that you would make unskilled players feel like they're losing and likely tilt or give up, but Diamond+ games are a complete clusterfuck right now.

I'm not sure how you can even argue that adding more gold to the winning team doesn't make them snowball harder. Like I said in the original post, this change just gives an illusion of a close game by keeping the towers, which are traditionally an easy indicator of which team is winning, alive longer.

How about Meddler’s?

Also, you’re anecdotal encounters don’t mean anything nor substantiate any argument.

> The people who came up with these changes claim they have statistics that we're not allowed to see that prove the changes are good!!! But just trust them guys, they're doing a great job because they said so!!!

Is this a serious post? I'm not even sure how to respond to this.

I'm also not sure how disconnected from reality you have to be to not realize that an additional 800 early game gold results in the winner snowballing harder.

I've noticed that comebacks are easier than before. Maybe it's just the bounty showing on tab, allowing people to stay aware of who to kill though. Plating is a nice change. Not losing the tower as early means your other lanes have more chance to swing the game in your favor. Stomps aren't worse than before at least.
