S tier champions should receive minor token nerfs to blend them with lower tier champs

I am just curious, why do champions like kha'zix that already get perma banned because they are too good getting additional buffs?

Shouldn't S tier champions receive -5% token nerfs to blend them with other good champions?

He got buffed because his rush item got nerfed

They should but damage dealers think they should get compensation anytime they receive a nerf while tanks just get nerfs with no compensation

Let's talk about Chogath .

Cho'gath was a B / C tier champion, whom pretty much no one noticed, who suddenly got hit with a rework of two abilities. As a result Cho'gath became God in the eyes of... everyone, pretty much.

Subsequently, an item which made Cho'gath insanely strong was reworked in how it worked** specifically to tone down how it effected him** without nerfing its intended use.

Cho'gath is now old news. He's far from weak, but he's mostly faded from pro play and is basically just a rage point for shitty players. He went from S tier to B tier without any direct nerfs and with only a single change.

Now let's talk about Sion .

Sion went from having a small (but dedicated) player base, with 0 representation in pro play and not even remotely on anyone's radar, to being the god of top lane and one of the most QQ'd about champions for a whole patch.

This was due to a bug with his E which made the hit box 200-300% larger, making him super duper frustrating to play against.

Sion received the required bug fixes and, now, his win rate has dropped back down to its original levels as his play rate quickly follows. His ban rate is also following suit. He is, primarily, old news which only shitty players who don't want to improve rage about.

While we're here, let's talk about Hecarim .

Hecarim was a huge discussion point - and bitch magnet - early on during the S8 preseason. I saw a lot of threads - and moaning - about how Predator turned him into an unstoppable jungling monster.

Despite Predator receiving nothing but QoL buffs, and Hecarim receiving 0 changes, he has faded from everyone's mind and is now one of the least represented junglers with a win rate that can - generously - be called "average".

Seeing as we're still reading, let's talk about Yasuo.

Yasuo hasn't been a note worthy balance point for at least an entire season. In fact, he was recently so weak that he received some fairly substantial buffs with 0 compensation nerfs. Despite Boards crying foul and citing it as the event which would kick off the apocalypse, nothing note worthy happened.

Yasuo is still basically an average champion. He has a moderately large player base, but he doesn't show any statistics which paint him as broken. The hatred of him is basically just a meme at this point; dog-shit players who blame everything on balance / other players, and never want to look inwards at how they could improve.

Are you seeing a trend yet?

Basically, a lot of champions fade in - and out - of being S tier without balance adjustments. In many ways what constitutes S tier is the pro meta (which is different than yolo que) and the people who blindly mimmick it. Further more, a fair amount of champions which people throw hissy fits over aren't even S-tier at all, they just happen to be frustrating for the role / champion said person wants to play, so said person decides to go on a righteous crusade rather than improve their own poor play.
