Please stop with that "never surrender" nonsense.

Some games ARE clearly lost. Not all, but some are so clearly and obviously gone that you shouldn't even bother with it. What are you going to do? Stall for 10 more minutes in some kind of masochistic slaughter fest? No, just surrender and try to win the next one to save everyone's energy and nerves. You can play the blame game, idc, it doesn't change the fact that's it's lost.

Oh this will get downvoted now, I'll see it. After all "never surrender" is the golden rule for coming out of bronze/silver now, right?

Well, down there it makes sense. People in bronze and silver make SO many mistakes, even when they are ahead. 20 kills difference, doesn't matter, they could throw and we can turn it. However, this does not happen above a certain point, ESPCIALLY not in the current hard snowball meta. Ofc it's not at firstblood, that would be nonsencial. But at 20 minutes usually one has seen enough to know where this game goes. Taking team comps on consideration one can usually see quite well what side's going to win and who's about to lose.

Tl,dr: Stop making me waste time and energy into games that are clearly done for. It'd rather just go ahead and try to win the next one.

Not all games can be won. Focus on those where you actually have a chance and end the rest quickly.

You know what's more annoying than a "never surrender" attitude? It's the people that want to surrender for a stupid reason and when they don't get their way they start playing to lose while the rest of the team is trying to win even though they know it probably wont happen.

Instead of giving up after some bad luck you should focus on playing the game and having fun, the game is meant to be a waste of time, so you complaining about others wasting your time is a little ridiculous. You're wasting your own time by having negative thoughts that make you enjoy the game less.

10 minutes of time waste with incompetent AND toxic teammates is not exactly my definition of fun. We all know the result already, so stop forcing it out.

After 20 minutes I have seen the skill of the enemy team and that of my teammates. That has some time even nothing to do with the kill score between the teams. I just look at the four members of my team, look at the enemy and am like "I would have to take out two of them solo so these morons have the silver of a chance". And then I look at the enemy team stats and items, compare them to mine, and finally come to the conclusion: "lol not gonna happen".

Losing is not enjoyable. Losing while being locked up with a bunch of moronic fucktards even less. Just let me goto the next game already <_<

Yes, League of Legends is meant for fun.

And do you know what is not fun? Not being able to play League for twenty-five minutes.

Because you get blown up the minute you step outside of your base so you are just trapped in a game that should have ended 20 damn minutes ago but didn't because the enemy team is so incompetent in their decision making they value Blue buff over Nexus Towers.

No. The game was not designed to waste time. It was designed as a 5 v 5 top down competitive game. That's just how you are misusing the game. You can waste your own time with a single player "game". Stop wasting other people's because you don't want to play the game, and are just killing time by hitting a few buttons and moving your mouse.

Maybe this is the case for the top 1% of players, but a majority of players play knowing that they won't accomplish anything by playing this game. You're taking this game way to seriously if you think otherwise. Sure they may like the competitive aspect of the game and climbing the ladder, but deep down they know it doesn't matter if they are Bronze 5 or Diamond 5.

Never surrender. Everything can happen. I was in a situation where we had 3 inhib down. The other team had their inhib and their turrets. I just stole baron with hecarim, killed their adc and apc then proceed to go with 2 friends and destroyed turret then inhib then the 2 turrets then the nexus. This kind of thing won't happen often and it'll often lead to a defeat. BUT you have 1% chance to win. If you surrender,it's 0%. The feeling when you win this kind of game is worth 2000 easy wins. so yes. NEVER SURRENDER!

You just climbed out of silver i see... there this actually works. Well, you gotta learn it sooner or later I guess...

I see where this anger is coming from. Your last ranked game you did 10k damage as DARIUS (wtf?). You fed the enemy Irelia and you probably got super tilted and complained the entire game instead of actually assisting your team.. You only had **36% **contribution.

Did you get boosted? Just curious.

SaltyToplaneGoat2 votes

Nope, no boosted. Also, this is my only account.

And what if I played bad? That doesn't change the fact that the game WAS lost. I'm not saying this from a "wäh i cannot carry so it sucks" perspective, but I looked at the teamfights and it was EXTREMLY obvious. No amount of contribution from my side could have turned that.

Well, maybe.. but you'll never know because it's obvious you stopped participating in the game when your team wouldn't surrender. I absolutely hate players like you.

It comes from experience. Had a game with a Janna support that flagged surrender every time it was up. After the 2nd time we wouldn't surrender, they sold all their items and started building off. They wouldn't even try, pretty much forced the game to end early.. just like YOU did. At least you kept your items, though.

People who spam surrender because they're behind at 20 minutes pretty much ruin it for everyone else on their team. Especially if they are the ONLY ones behind.

SaltyToplaneGoat1 votes

I never stoped participating. I played normally and as I expected we lost.

My prediction was right from 20 minutes on, yet because of this dumbass mindset I had to waste 16 mor eminut ein there.

yes, and that was really easy XD. I'm not into ranked , just did it for fun.

Can != probable.

It's a statistical waste of time to play out every game that is clearly lost on a 1% chance you can turn it around.

Veruka2 votes

All games can be won. Stop trying to constantly surrender because you end up tilting yourself which makes you completely useless to your team. All it takes is 1 mistake to turn a losing game into an ACE for the win.

SaltyToplaneGoat3 votes

In Bronze and Silver maybe.

A competent team won't make such a basic mistake that easily once they have a significant advantage.

Veruka1 votes

A competent player also doesn't feed. A competent player helps their team.

You lost that game for your team, and you should be ashamed of yourself for coming here complaining about it. At least THEY were trying. I feel sorry for them having to play with someone like you.

SaltyToplaneGoat2 votes

Blame me all you want, that game was still lost. we wasted a good 16 minutes for nothing yay

Veruka1 votes

You blame them for not surrendering. At least they were trying. You might as well have left the game as it was pretty much a 4v5 anyways.

The game was lost because of you. 1st blood before 3 minutes. And then you come here and complain because your team was trying to carry you.

Pfft please. Bye, Felicia.

CTG SgtScoots2 votes

You're the only one wasting your time. With the right champion picks any game can be won. I've seen a 0-20 Kassadin get a penta kill just because he had the right initiation from his team and because he was a strong champion that made it to the late game and got to build a few items.

Who in the boards community gives a fuck about a complaint about surrendering? Lol what is this, a guide on the boards? "Stop making me waste time and energy into games that are clearly done" are you like queuing with people on the boards that are gonna see this? Lmfaoo wtf is this?! youre the only one wasting time making a useless post

That's just the first page of YouTube because I'm far too lazy to go any further than that to prove a point. Humans make mistakes. Often times, emotions or other things can blind even the best player. Other times, other players might have a moment of clairvoyance and single-handedly win a teamfight. I'm not advocating never surrendering. I'm saying that it's ignorant to believe that any game is "clearly lost." Surrendering is a choice that will trade time for the potential to turn a game around. It is never speeding up the process of a predetermined victory or loss. Sounds like you're just a pessimist. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

ok, you know something else that can happen? enemy has an internet problem and you go in 5v4

SaltyToplaneGoat1 votes

And what is the chance of that? This happens maybe once every 200 games from my experience.

FluffyMcMuffins1 votes

I used to give up and throw up my surrender vote pretty easily. That was until I was in a ranked game with a friend who I frequently duo with, and we were about as far behind as you can be. We literally had only our nexus left. Every single turret and inhibitor was down. We managed to kill the enemy team in their would be final push as they tried to kill the nexus and end the game. After that we basically couldn't leave our base as three lanes were spawning double supers, so we just pushed lanes out and waited. They came in again for a final push, we aced them, and won the game. Of course this was well over 40 minutes into the game, so we had plenty of time to take out their turrets and nexus with no one to stop us.

Yes, this is a very very extreme example of a comeback. Also, I'm fairly certain almost no one will believe the story, and I don't blame them. I wouldn't have believed such a comeback was possible outside of bronze until it happened to me. Now I'm certainly no challenger player, and I'm sure it wouldn't happen at that skill level. However, that game took place in low-mid plat. So yes, stuff like that can happen outside bronze/silver.

I'm not saying that surrender is never an option. It is certainly my opinion that some games you should just surrender rather than spend another 10-15 minutes trying to hold out against a team that is that far ahead of you. Even now, if I were put in a game exactly like the one I just described, I'm sure I would be voting yes. I recently played a game where the score was 4-30 at 20 minutes and we were down 6 turrets and 2 dragons to none. You'd best believe I voted yes. I don't think it's worth the time and effort playing out all those games on a "what if" basis, when the time you save surrendering them could be put to better use.

Edit: tl;dr: Yeh... sometimes you should just surrender. [slayer-jinx-wink]

WarlockLaw1 votes

Until the nexus is destroyed there is always the chance the enemy team will through an already won game due to one extremely poorly executed fight. You can never know whether or not a comeback will happen until the game actually ends. As far as Ranked goes the only time a surrender is an acceptable option is when the surrendering team has an afk/intentional feeder. If you care about your lp, which since you're playing Ranked you probably do, you should never surrender as the enemy team might just charge into a series of 1v5's and throw because of it. Or maybe the entire enemy team might afk. Or maybe they will fuck up and let you get to late game. Or maybe they will just let you out split-push them.

If you're in normals I don't advocate as much on the 'no surrender' policy, but I still won't surrender those under the right circumstances either.
