Nasus QoL Buff: Siphoning indicator.

Duke Anax··1 votes·707 views

Both the damage and the enemy defenses, constantly shift throughout the game without relation to each other.

This makes it nearly impossible to get an accurate feel on the right time to use Siphoning Strike. The best thing a good Nasus player can do is waste a few extra attacks to make sure.

Having an indicator on targets that can be siphoned, would make thing a bit more smooth.

With resent champion updates such indicators seem to have become standard.

Edit seems to be rather unpopular, as people think it would remove too much skill requirement. However im not sure how im supposed to develop that skill when I can't even see what I'm supposed to do.

Maybe it would be a better change to give minions a segmented healthbar like champions have? That way you can at least tell how much damage you need to do.

Are you saying to have some sort of indicator that tells you at what point a timely Q would completely finish someone off? Just trying to make sure I understand.

Pretty much.

I wonder if it should be omited for champions, but I really want it for minions and mobs.

I can see what you're going for here and it sounds like a good idea and all, but try to remember that

Against minions: part of the skill with playing Nasus is knowing how much damage you can chunk a minion's health off with your Q. Being able to land those Qs is an essential skill with his kit. Putting in an indicator would make him a hand-holdy champ, and reduce much of the skill involved with playing him. It's sorta like asking for a last hit indicator on ADCs. It isn't game breaking, and it's a nice thought, but it takes out half of the skill involved with the role of a Marksman.

Against champions: no one else in the game has a "kill this guy now" icon that lights up for their abilities including the champions who have executes, abilities which are specifically designed to be sure-kills below a certain health percentage. If they don't have it on those, Nasus probably shouldn't have it on this.

It's a neat idea, don't get me wrong. Very clever to think up. But it also makes part of learning them entirely pointless.

Neither of whom have indicators that light up telling them when they can kill someone by pushing a button. They just deal enough damage to kill someone off their stupidly strong abilities. My point remains.

Cho'Gath: Enemies who possess a current health that is lower than the total damage that Feast will deal are indicated by a ring of glowing red teeth underneath them.

Zed: If Death Mark's damage is sufficient to kill an enemy, a shuriken appears above the marked champion's head along with a cloud of smoke surrounding them. If the target's health is replenished in any way that will let the target survive, the swirling shuriken mark will disappear. The red mark inside the target that denotes the mark's existence will remain for the full three seconds, however (unless removed by means of Quicksilver Sash item.png Quicksilver Sash or Mercurial Scimitar item.png Mercurial Scimitar).

Zed's mark only applies when the damage being built up before the mark would pop hits the threshold, not for the damage that the spell is doing off of just being cast. Once the shuriken pops up you can stop using abilities on that enemy because they're assured to die, barring a timely heal or use of QSS/Mercurial Scimitar/Zhonya's to negate the extra damage it'll deal. It isn't a "push button to kill champion" indicator, just "dude you can stop spamming Q the guy's toast anyways."

You got me on the Cho'Gath one though, I'll give you that. Then again he also has the highest true damage to champions in the game not accounting for Darius' ult, which I don't know the numbers off the top of my head for which one of them can deal more potentially.

Just went and looked it up and they actually seem to be about the same in terms of base damage, but Darius has to get his Hemorrhage stacks going before it'll do that much, so I think they assume if you've hit them enough to have 5 stacks they're probably screwed anyways haha

IMHO I think that no one should actually get those markers, it's not fair. Oh how i hate playing Garen and playing the guessing game on when my ult will hit kill or not only to see them get away with 50 hp. MEANWHILE CHO'GATH, NOM NOM NOM.

I agree that giving Nasus an indicator would remove quite a bit of nuance from playing him as a champion. As a side-note, normal minions always have 0 armor now (unless they have a Super minion or Baron Buff) so you should just be able to compare their HP with your Q damage.

The big difference for me between Garen and Cho'gath is that Cho's Feast deals flat true damage. If you know the damage of your ultimate and the target's HP, you know immediately whether or not it's going to kill them; the indicator is just a shortcut for that. Garen's ultimate calculation is much more complicated, so it doesn't get a shortcut.

To illustrate the difference, let's look at the killzones using the skills' max level values: Feast Killzone: 600+70% AP >= Target HP Demacian Justice Killzone: (525+0.4x(Target Max HP - Target Current HP)) / (1+(Enemy Magic Resist / 100)) >= Target HP

The complexity of Demacian Justice is why I can almost always beat a Garen by first-building Hexdrinker.

Afaik Zed's only marks for delayed damage,

But Cho'Gath feast indicator is exactly what I was going for.

Cho'Gath's is also on his ult, and it only applies to champions who can be killed... since I'm relatively certain his bite will kill pretty much anything on the map short of Baron or Dragon in one go lol. It's a bit different from Nasus' Q... considering Nasus can hit Q about every two seconds at max rank.
