I still don't get why Yasuo needs his passive shield

His offense is a solid 10/10 His mobility is a solid 10/10 His defense is 2 really effective things, maybe not a 10/10, but still he has strong defenses for someone who normally buys absolutely 0 defensive items, windwall actually being a skill, but his fucking passive is a pain in the ass to deal with, it's FREE trading power on someone who has no resources and has a kit MADE to fucking trade without being scratched

No one likes laning against this guy No one likes ganking this guy No one likes dealing with this guy lategame No one likes him unless THEY ARE PLAYING HIM

Why does such a fucking nightmare of a champion exist?

Queue majority downvotes, there are more Yasuo players then there are players of other champions combined...

Not to mention if he falls far behind he's useless

and if you have a jungler like XinZhao ganking him is e-z monaayyy

Yasuo is broken. Agreed... My first time playing him I went 18 / 5 with 4 turret kills in mid gold elo... And I am just an average player. The kit is just to versatile for a champion with as much damage output as he has. Nearly endless mobility.... A free shield.... 60% crit is possible with partial complete items like 8 minutes into the game. a wind wall that when used properly can completely counter most ranged champions..... It even blocks ults.

I would say his shield is a strong passive with a lot of counterplay, as it is easily broken by a single ranged auto or something like that. His double crit chance might be too much though, and this is coming from a Yasuo main. I also feel that his shield shouldn't proc off of DoTs lile Ignite or Torment or Defile. It's insane when I escape with 12 health bc my shield procced at the last second, and it never really feels fair.

To not die as soon as he gets into the fray, every Melee Carry has an overall defense in his kit, in Yasuo this is split into 2 skills, the shield and the windwall.

The reason Master Yi can't lane is his mana costs and his vulnerability to harass. So when making a melee carry for mid lane, Riot gave him no mana and resistance to harass. Seems simple enough to me.

I think you position yourself a bit wrong here. his passive shield is definitely annoying and I feel unnecessary as well, but he IS vulnerable to ganks. let's not pretend he isn't.

the only problem with yasuo is when he ISNT ganked. if your jungler is incompetent and you are a mage, most likely he will just have his way with you in lane if hes good.

the flow shield though, does give yasuo a fighting chance against melee bruisers who actually shit on him pretty hard as one of his abilities is literally useless. so while its like overly strong vs mages, without it, he would just explode vs people like renekton, riven, irelia....who pretty much explode him anyway.

I still feel the biggest issue even more than the flow is his oppressive wave clear. reduce the damage to minions on his E and leave it the same vs champions (even the ramp up as he goes through minions) and he can't wave clear so damn fast. gives you a chance to hit him as he tries to clear the wave.
