Please don't play janna in solo queue

If you are alone in solo bot lane and are below plat elo. TYVM. I'm tired of it. They nerfed janna into the ground and she is a niche support. Don't pick her first especially when Vayne isn't banned or picked. In solo queue its much better to have a Leona/Thresh/Blitz instead of Janna. I can understand it in a Duo. But don't force a Janna on a solo queue player. Just don't do it. Janna and most ADCs do not work together considering a lot of her plays come from communication not the ADC picked. Last game I was Draven with Janna support against Alistar and Vayne. First thing I die to is a lvl 2 all in while janna goes to ward after she shoved the lane out with a tornado. Second death to tower dive because Janna used her q on ali before he even started his combo.

Basically don't pick Janna unless you are really good with her or you have communication with at least 1 person on your team preferably your adc. She has been hit by the nerf bat too many times and is so situational now that I don't think of her as anything else but niche. I prefer Bard over Janna at this point because Bard contributes something meaningful for all comps not just a really specific one.

You are right about one thing though and that is that she does need communication, but so do most other supports.

It's not my fault when she goes to ward in the middle of them going in. Literally I was watching ali flash and she ran to throw a ward down while I was being all in'd lvl 1 to lvl 2 to an Alistar Vayne. That is not my fault. They saw her start to leave the lane and went in because Janna thought the correct thing to do is to go aggro at lvl 1 and shove the lane out to their tower. So by leaving she basically left me alone at lvl 1 next to their tower with them sitting within combo range of me because I thought I had a support, but you know gotta be scared of the rengar lvl 2 ganks.

And if all your utility is in your q and it has been nerfed at least 3 times she is not the best support. She is basically being gutted for not being thresh. She is a meh support that is only great if you have communication. If not, you don't pick her. Because her Q has no indication of what she is doing. She could be throwing it backwards to troll you or she can be throwing the best lead tornado you have ever seen, but you have no clue.

All of this is untrue. You are lying about something here. If you shoved the lane to their tower you would not be level 1 while they are level 2, it would be the opposite.

Also, She did the right thing, Rengar has a snare at level 2 he can definitely gank you if he has 3 or more of his empower.

Everything wrong with what you said about Janna

  1. Her Q isn't her only utility in fact its her 3rd best utility spell. Her Ult is hands down the best team fight ult of any support if used correctly and her shield is second as it gives a massive shield and attack damage steroid to whoever she attaches it to. Also she can protect turrets with it. Her Q is 3rd in terms of utility.

  2. She isn't thresh and is nothing like thresh. I would also like to point out that thresh gets throttled by Janna. There is a reason Janna is a highly contested pick in LCS

  3. You have no clue where thresh is going to hook as he doesn't have to be facing the direction he is throwing it. does that mean you can't follow up? no it means you should probably assume it is going towards an enemy.

  4. Janna is without a doubt the best support next to thresh and is only countered by blitzcrank

When I do support and need a peel support I go bard/Thresh/Leona. Much more viable supports and are much more flexible for the job Janna does. In 5s and Pro play I understand why Janna is picked and why she is good. But at Silver/Gold Elo there are so many bad people playing Janna its not even funny. I would rather have Bard in my lane because I know he is going to leave and can peel in all situations and do decent damage. Janna's been really over glorified because of pro play and insec flash ults and doesn't suit solo queue anymore.

I have a better idea;

Play what you like as long as you aren't ruining the game for your team doing it. Janna is a meta support and perfectly viable at all ranges of MMR. Being a certain rank should not dissuade you from playing it.
