[Vent post about matchmaking, long post] Going on a loss streak sucks
Two or three weeks ago I was Plat 1 50 LP with higher than average MMR, I know it isn't accurate but OP.GG said I had "Diamond 4 MMR". I was naturally really happy with this, I was also actually carrying games at that elo, and doing pretty well. I am now Plat 4 6 LP with really terrible MMR.
So then I got hit with a few losses, not a big deal, I was left with 0 LP. Since I lost those games on a streak, that meant my next game that I lose, will demote me to Plat 2, so obviously I really wanted to win, what happens? I get a guy, gets placed in the jungle, that says "Let me mid please, I am smurf, 16 champ account", I told him no because I had gotten my secondary all day, and it was my first game that I had gotten mid. He proceeds to lock in Soraka with smite. Now I think he's gunna dodge, he's just baiting other people to dodge for him, but no one dodges, and we lose that game, so I get demoted.
I then win 2 games, get in my promos and win one, and then lose two, which feels like
. So now I'm at like 64 LP because I was only losing 18 at a time.
I also, at that time, had 25 or 27 wins over my losses. For example, 75 wins/50 losses.
Now because in my recent 20 games I have a high loss percentage, my MMR naturally dropped, and I was getting paired up with worse and worse people. The issue that people don't talk about is that, when your MMR goes down, yes you do get to play against worse people, HOWEVER, you also get the worse people on your team, this is a vicious cycle, because now this is what happens:
You get people, that do really stupid decisions making things, not just feeding, like say for instance your at the point in a game where one death pretty much ends the game because timers are 40-45 seconds, what does a person on your team do? Face checks and split pushes without any wards or any regard for game sense.
You also get the people that do just really feed and you can't do much about it. Now you might say, well if you're good enough you can carry or help that lane, sure I can, if they are alive enough for me to come down there, but usually it ends up being an 8/1 lucian before 15 minutes that comes to mid lane with his support and I'm just like
.
You also get the people that take really off meta stuff, like Karthus top, Katarina top, AD Kennen (Yes it works, but only in team play), first time champions, things like that.
You also get butt blasted by Autofill, people don't realize it, but the higher elo you go, the more it matters which team has the Autofill dummy. You can't argue with the fact that someone getting Autofilled jungle or ADC, will get butt blasted by a Jungle or ADC main, it's a just a fact. The Autofill won't know the right way to trade, nor will they know what they are capable of with those champion pools.
You also get the AFKers, the ones that AFK after 3 minutes, and for some reason on my decline you get a lot of those people.
You also get 10 year olds that if they don't get what they want troll the game, earlier today, I had a game where for some reason, my Draven ADC at level 4, wanted red buff, Yi told him no, and smited it away from him. Draven then sat in base for 25 minutes, and came out just to farm and randomly use summoner spells whenever they were up. However, I won that game, because I went bat shit crazy mad and got 30 kills with my Orianna.
You also get the people that have no awareness for game sense, like not accounting for the a certain spell someone has, not paying attention to peoples cool downs, not warding the right spots, not managing a lane correctly, poor decision making when it comes to objectives, things like that.
Yes, I will admit, some games were flat out my fault for losing, by some I mean 5-15% of my games I am the sole reason we lose.
I don't know, people say if you're good enough you'll carry any game, but really, that isn't true, matchmaking is so much RNG right now, you can't remotely control your teammates computers while playing league and play for them, it's a team game, and luck pretty much decides who wins that game as to who goes to which team.
