Seriously, look at this.. This was a 20 minute game where my team fed the enemies beyond all hope and then surrendered. I was trying my best to not say anything to them. I was roaming and looking to help, all while still maintaining as much CS as I can. Let's be realistic here though, what can 1 player do against THAT? There wasn't and never is anything that can be done. This shit is as tilting as it gets. Not only did these people feed in my game, they then turned around and spammed the surrender vote over and over from 15 minutes until 20 minutes came around.

How is there anything balanced about this game right now? It isn't like this is something that's happening rarely, it's happening in probably 80-90% of my matches played. It's at the point where I am just about over this game... I literally can't handle it anymore. Call me a whining little girl, or whatever name you can come up with, but dealing with this situation over and over again 4/5 games is as bad as it gets.. Especially when there literally is nothing that can be done about it. Where's the counter-play? It's not like my laner went down there and killed anyone.. I roamed more than that Malzahar, and yet look... he has more assists and gold.. why? Why do I have to lose my lane which I was winning despite being camped, all because the rest of my team is getting destroyed?

There's nothing fair about this shit right now. Please get rid of all this new bullshit added and give me the game that existed back in Seasons 1-3 where one player could make a difference, even when his team was getting shit on. I'm tired of this. TIRED. I don't believe in teamwork. Do you see teamwork? Teamwork is what happened in this picture. Teamwork is where your team costs you the game. Teamwork is where you literally are forced to trust everyone to do shit for you, and then you end up losing because they don't have a fucking clue in the world what they're doing. Teamwork IS NOT GOOD.

Just because 5 guys on a stage can work together and provide good entertainment doesn't mean that shit works in everyone else's matches. The people on 98% of player's matches aren't pro players. They don't live, eat, and breath, with each other. We're strangers grouped together from different backgrounds, with different experience levels, playing a game together. Stop balancing around 5 guys living together holding hands day in and day out and fucking balance the game the way it should be for once.

Thank you... end of rant.

So the team with 4 people winning should have lost to the team with 1 person winning? It sucks to have a bad team and a lot of games are decided mainly by other players. No one can get a 100% winrate but all it takes to climb is 51%. If you want to win every game, then consider bot games or another PvE game. If you want everything decided by your own performance, play a 1v1 or FFA game.

If game ends up as one sided stomp, it means that skill difference between both teams is huge, which also means that matchmaking system does not work properly. How can platinum players be matched with bronze and silver players within two teams? What's the point of all those divisions, if all that matchmaking system uses is some kind of BS MMR.

Furthermore, how can you justify winning streaks and losing streaks? Basically, system recognizes you as a good player, because you win a lot, which means you are placed LOWER than you should be. And instead of allowing you to climb, because you clearly do not belong in the current division, game puts you on losing streak, and matches you with people, who are placed HIGHER than they should be. And those people drag you down and make climbing much much harder, which results in 10-100 games played only to get into place where you truly belong. Basically you are wasting a lot of your time only to climb where you should be ( your skill level ends there and you can't climb that well anymore), because system undervalued you.

Over 100 million monthly players and queue can't find 10 who have similar skill level? My ass.

Dr Poro2 votes

Stomps are not only because of poor matchmaking. Even if the game finds 10 people with exactly the same MMR, all having played 500 ranked games already and everyone gets there prefered role, stomps may happen. It's simply due to human beings being inconsistent. I've had games where I solo carried with wukong. I've had games where I solo lost as wukong. On some days, I just perform so well, I'm aware of every gank and time my abilities and dodge perfectly. On other days I tunnel vision and keep dying instead of conceding some farm. You can't just say "okay, this exact spot is my skill level and every game I will perform on that level." If that was so, Worlds would always end in a 3-0 sweep.

Winning and losing streaks are a result of random outcomes which only get influenced slightly by your own performance. You can be performing better than your MMR and have a losing streak. You can be underperforming and still have a winning streak. It's because there are 9 other people that are over/underperforming either because their 'true skill' is different from their MMR or their day-to-day variance (match-to-match) in performance. The system doesn't try to give you streaks. These just happen. I've had a 13 win streak once starting with the first match of my placements. The funny thing is that my team was pretty bad in those first games that I carried and in the last 4 matches of that win streak, I always lost my lane and got carried by my team. Riot didn't try to make me lose after X wins by giving a worse team.

Sdars5 votes

While I agree that 4 bad players + 1 good player should equal a loss, it's not fun when so many games are stomps.

For some reason, it often looks like riot has some sort of "streak" matchmaking system, where they set you with decent players and make you go on a win streak and if you lose a game while getting those decent players, you get placed with bad teammates and are sent on a losing streak until you can win a game.

Also, I know promos require a high win ratio to pass (66.7% or more) but even then, it seem like riot intentionally makes them harder than the rest. You can tell by how winning streaks tend to end in promos, and just how often people pass them in general. I know someone who dropped to diamond V, and to get back up, he had to enter promos 20 times, and that sort of thing is not that uncommon.

copy pasta from above:

When you get a winning streak, games become harder because all 9 other players will have higher MMR. Their team will get 5 better players while your team gets 4. It'll be less likely that you are a positive factor in your team and your win chances will get closer to 50% (or even below if you got a streak to above your ELO). Sure, streaks are more likely to end because of your teammates rather than because of you since there are 4 of them and just 1 of you.

I personally haven't experienced promos getting harder. I don't play a lot of ranked, but I climbed from silver to plat in season 3, from gold to plat in season 4 and from plat to diamond in season 5 and 6 and I have NEVER lost a promotion. Yes, I consider myself very lucky in that regard since most of those matches weren't carried by a teammate. But for every guy on the boards complaining about this bullshit bad luck, there's a (usually silent) guy like me sitting with some good fortune. Maybe Dunning-Kruger effect plays a role, but even without this, it's perfectly explainable. IF winrates in promos are lower than usual, I'd rather explain it by players performing worse under the pressure to perform in these 'important' games.

Matchmaking shouldnt have 4 people stomping the other 4 all on the same team. The game would be way more evenly balanced if those 10 were on different teams.

I've had games on my silver account (has plat mmr) where I have 2 unranked teammates who only play bots, and only having 5 total games in the past 60 days. While the other team has a full stack of plats. What the actual fuck is this matchmaking? How am I supposed to have a chance when 40% of my team has borderline never even played the game, another 40% being pretty low skill, then me, vsing 5 players who are slightly below my skill level, but extremely fed. I just get stat-checked and there's no way for me (1 player) to beat the other team, and that's decided before players even locked in their champions.

It was like, "oh they picked Assassin X, if he/she get´s 1 kill then we´re done here"

I much more prefer having the requirement of at least 3 good players on one's team to win, or 1 super fed and the rest as a mix between good/decent/.....poor/unlucky.

Mild sarcasm aside...... Trist and Twitch are weak in lane, pick stuff to bully them or shut them down in fights and you stand a good chance......

Not really against Twitch.... his ultimate+ current static+rapidfire+IE crit is just a two shot combo to instakill 1 or two enemy carries.

Trist does at least need to position and stuff.

I see threads like this pop up every now and then, and the main way to solve this "problem", is to accept that League of Legends is a team game. I think it's fair to say that it's more of a team game now than in season 3, but it's still just what it is. A team game.

You don't want to play a team game? You don't won't to depend on other people's ability to play the game, to affect your ability to get enjoyment out of the game?

Then I would suggest rethinking if League of Legends really is the game for you. Playerunknowns Battlegrounds just got trending, and in that game you have no team, you are one person against 99 others. No one can dictate whether or not you succeed, expect yourself.

That is obviously just a suggestion, and I'm not saying that Pubg is a better game than League. But if you dislike teamwork that much, if the situation you talked about actually happens in 80-90% of your games (which I highly doubt tbh), and if you actually meant everything you wrote and it wasn't just pure tilt that made you overreact, it should at least be worth considering?

kargish10 votes

As much as I understand where your frustration is coming from, you've got to understand that the situation isn't turned against you as much as you think. Even though it feels like it, the exact same thing happens for the enemy team just as often. Imagine your bot lane going 4/0/1, even though this feels like "good we have a fed adc" it's the same point where the enemy team loses their shit, and complains that this just always happen to them, even though it doesn't feels as impactful to have a 4/0/1 adc as to face one with the same score.

Games are still like they were back in the day, you can still have an impact as a solo player and even carry the game yourself, but it's easier if you utilize your teammates. They are placed in the same game as you are, which means that they are approximately at the same skill level as you, despite they might suck ass that game. Judging from your side of the story, it seems you at least attempted to do the right thing. Trying to roam and make your team catch up to the enemy in terms of gold and xp, but unfortunately didn't work out (1/1/1 doesn't seem like a score for someone who roams). You were just unfortunate that your team wasn't good enough this match.

P.S. It doesn't matter that you censor your name as we can see it here on the forums

YokoNomi8 votes

Think the biggest problem lies in the fact that many anomalies that lead to a defeat are ignored in a lot of games. Team composition definitely being one of them. The biggest difference is that even though your team is capable of damage, their team has a stronger ground to work with due to their additional forms of cc and skills that stack well enough to make up for at least some of their faults. Had the same problem where I'd made the mistake of playing Garen for a green ADC and an assassin mid-laner. He's a great champ, but when it comes to team fights, not enough can be done to assist my backline when the entirety of the enemy team is focused on cc based champions.

This is not to mention things like skill/tactics/etc, but I've not the attention span to make that kind of post.

Just based in the picture, it looks like a classic "lose bot lane lose game" scenario. But seriously, maybe consider playing a fighting game, or something 1 v 1. League is fun and all, but if you honestly want to have full control of your wins and losses in a game, then play a 1 v 1 game with no luck/ RNG aspects. Winning is 100% your skill, losing is 100% your skill.

Slythion3 votes

You understand that they get identical complaints about snowballing when the game becomes less teamwork-reliant right?

You can't please everyone, this is a dumb situation to be mad at Riot about

ChaosThief1 votes

The problem is, if you try to make it more "solo carry" styled, then you have to not only worry about your lane, but every lane. Every lane has the capability of taking the game into a win, so the natural result is whoever is stronger, wins. You can destroy your mid lane, at the same time your bot lane can lose just as badly.

It should be pushed towards longer games and less "I won lane I won game" scenarios that it currently seems to revolve around. People give up trying often after losing lane.

Slythion3 votes

I agree 100%, I've always favored longer (40ish) minute games over the current "games are decided by 15 minutes and end by 30 at the latest" kind of style that's been present for the past couple seasons.

The problem with that type of gameplay is that it's not always fun to watch and so the esports scene suffers, and we all know that's the only thing Riot really cares about

its the matchmaking. i just played a game where fiora fed 0/12/2 and wasnt a damn thing we could tell her to stop because she lacked fundamental knowledge of the game. she wasnt trolling, she was just legit HORRIBLE at the game. she didnt know how to cs, didnt know how to ward, got TP but only used it maybe twice entire game, didnt know what her own champion could or could not do, and didnt know what the enemy champion could or could not do. come to find out, she was a fresh lvl 30 doing her fucking placements...... there is nothing you can do about that except 4v5 carry, but that becomes hard when the person she feeds is a hard carry. in a situation like that our chances of winning would have been SIGNIFICANTLY higher if she just went afk after the first death, thats how sad the situation is sometimes.

This is worse in low-mid elos because riot just doesnt give a fuck to fix it.

Vallalan3 votes

80-90? Quit exaggerating. If 80-90 percent of games were uncarryable no one would climb.

The system isn't against you. Carry the games you can and don't dwell on the games like this. It's not hard people...

GripaAviara2 votes

People don't really climb. My whole 100+ friend list and just 2 players climbed a div (silver+, not considering bronze). Maybe after platinum 5 where it's hard to really get bad players, the climb can be a goal

IdveYsUfSK3 votes

This rant deserves a award. But the picture just shows that you got heavily out picked with broken one shot champ riot never nerfs on the enemy team. Always ban broken assassins when you are in low elo. Down there nobody positions properly early game and gets easily picked off.

The Cane Master2 votes

Don't play a team game expecting that as an individual you can influence the outcome more than 1/5 i.e. 20% as you make only that much of 5 people. The better team always wins, I would dare to say better mid/jungle synergy, marksman, top and support don't influence the game as much.

Xion The XIV4 votes

Back in Season 1-3 a single player could help the team out. Even now in season 7 teams are retarded. Your fed split pusher is pushing the enemy towers. Your team will stand around farming minions of jungle and let the enemy team back to kill the pusher. That isn't once in a while it's 85% of all the games I have ever played in ranked and Normals. Now a days a single regular(not some random pro) player can do nothing. They can go 12/3 but will still loose because your adc went 1/9. This is no longer about teamwork or strategy. It's all about who's ADC is more fed.

While I agree with all you've just said, it's not about whose adc is more fed rather mid/jungle combination. They control all roams, dictate fights, waveclear/engages, marksman only follow up, they can't do anything on their own.

And what happens when you have a Mid that doesn't Roam? I have had a few of those before. Will just tunnel vision their lane only. It's just getting harder and harder to find this game enjoyable, because you are extremely dependent on your team to not fuck up their lanes. Now a days it just seems like the best way to win is to tilt your enemy laner by asking for a camp to make the enemy not want to play with this person anymore.

When his Bot Lane had 18 deaths alone, it's impressive that TC even got a kill or assist. Unsurprisingly, TC has the highest total gold on the team, which speaks volumes in terms of who's fault is it. Even then, he can't do much since Soraka and Jhin were feeding out of their asses.

That's a bit irrelevant. TC is simply showing how ridiculous and imbalanced League can become at times. Would it be any different if a Challenger player made this thread? No, of course it would not. They might have more credibility, but that's not relevant with the point of this post because EVERYONE who plays this game on a weekly basis will encounter donkey-turd teams.
