Jungling in twisted treeline - a huge setback?

Heya, just wondering if Riot is paying attention at all to 3's balance. I mean we do see an occasional item change in 3's right?

The problem with jungling in 3's, is that you are always under half hp, regardless of whether or not you have smite. Leaving your team at a huge disadvantage vs a team with no smite.

I have played many games as Zed bot, shove lane, run into their jungle and got a kill maybe 4/5 times I've done it.

Did I mention the madreds is too weak in 3's? The only good jungler item in 3's would be quill coat. item 3205

So pretty much the only viable way to jungle (From what I've seen)

The duo lane jungles together, then jumps into lane. (You don't know how scary it is having two players missing)

The duo lane shoves minion wave and roams into the enemy jungle.

  • and usually ends up stealing your alter

Here are some idea's I think that would make jungling in 3's a bit more interesting.

Madreds increases damage and healing per hit. (stack system) (Not sure about spirit stone)

Lower the cost of jungle items. (Enough so that you can buy two of them)

Remove jungle items - buff smite (A bit drastic)

Not sure at what level you are playing but I know my 3s team pretty much preys on any team that doesn't have a jungle. It gives us another free source of xp since you are not farming your jungle and we pick safe APs that can harass the enemy duo from a distance while still farming, Ziggs/Lux/Syndra/Xerith/etc.

Tends to result in my team having a strong level and farm advantage and we just steamrole the under leveled and under farmed enemy team.

if the duolane doesn't pick a good early kill-combo, or a fast oush lane and plays it well(agressvie jungle invade as soon as u reach lvl 2, as the enemy sololane will still be rank 1 and have a massive wave pushing into hi tower while the jungler will be low on health). U will usually have eithe an kill on the enemy jungler or an 3v1 towerdive vs the enemy 1v1 laner, and get an double-altar ontop. Thats what happens at gold 2 and beyond

The champs I listed above clear waves rather quickly, even at lvl 1, making easy for them to keep up and react. Also we start our jungle clears on wolves to avoid any kind of jump. From their we take wraiths for thr lvl 2 and if they try a dive on the solo laner we are ready to respond.

It helps we pick father early game junglers like Shyvana who can clear wolves and wraiths before the first wave is finished.

belive me, lulu or other supportive mages won'T clear waves at lvl 1 fast enough as u can zone her 2v1 till the minons reach her twer, and at that point u have lvl 2 while she is lvl 1. then u go into the jungle, and if the enemy jungler is still around he can only hope to run fast enough, as he will be below fullhealth and can'T expect help from his sololane vs the duo. If u don't meet the jungler, u 3v1 dive the 1v1 laner. If u play the dou well it works great

agree, jungling is rather bad in TT, going with a duo killane+1supportive mage on the slolane, jusr shoving bove waves and invading the jungle whie the enemy 1v2 laner is still lvl 1 destroys any possible jungle-setup, with some very rar exeptions(udyr can stay healthy enough and clear fast to not be an easy pray in the jungle)

buffing jungle items for TT, beginning with machet, might work. Simply nerifng jungle monsters could also work, but would evt lead to 2 man jungle-lane-jungle-lane roaming rotations, or even 3 man deathquads which worked well befor jungle camps got stronger(roam as 3 from lvl 1, fast clear top, take jungle, fast clear but and so on, gives over all more exp and u can channle all farm in one hyper carry like morde)

But i think such buff need to be carfully done, it would be nice if both, dou lane and jungle, stay as viable options in TT

If the jungler doesn't get shut down and gets one of the jungle items pretty early will almost always have the most gold at the end of the game(even if they're down in farm and kills). They just need to work on early camp clears.

I never said Lulu I said Syndra/Lux/Xerith/Ziggs and champs like them, you could also potentially add someone like Jayce. What do they all have in common? They can farm and harass from outside of most duo lane champs people select. You wouldn't be the first that tried to zone out my Syndra just to find yourself poked down without landing much/any harass on me.

Also as I said our jungler starts on his wolves and then goes wraiths. If you go that deep into our jungle we collapse on you with 3 lvl 2s vs your 2 and you are not gonna win that match-up. If you got for the 3v1 tower dive the jungler cuts you off and tends to pick up 2 kills potentially 3.

There is a reason we have a 90% win rate against the duo bot lane strategy while running a jungler. It isn't as strong as you are thinking it is and you will get out scaled sharing experience and giving your jungle xp to us for free.

I guess thats why i reached G1 in 3v3(befor 1one of us 3 went for a pause, so we did drop to G2 cause of inactivity) and u are S3. There is a reason we have a 90% win rate against jungler. A good duo can and will zone at lvl 1 against any mage. Sure, Ziggs can throw some Qs from save range, but he won'T get much cs with it, and u can easily dodge them on high range, same for any of those mages. Thx to the zoning, u will be lvl2 while the enemy 1v2 laner is still 1, and since we have a fast pushing mage like Lizz or Syndra bot, he will have the wave shoved as well and join us if u try to colaps, which means u fight with 2 lvl 1 and 1 wounded lvl 2 vs 3 lvl2 while big minion waves get denyed by the tower on both lanes, or u have a strong pushing bot and we can easily colaps 3v1 on him. And if we chased ur Jungler away, it's easy to 3v1 towerdive with the right setup.

also, u won't get far with syn in higher elos, as she's usually banned or firstpicked

having a jungler is a viable strategy in TT, even in the highest levels of play, but it is also viable to not run a jungler; diversity, i know, there is no reason for us to believe that only one can exist
